I have learnt so much from this video. I didn't know or watch any videos regarding the position of the mast for the ribbing attachment. Explained in detail, step by step. Thanks
I’ve never heard anyone discuss the tension mast like that and it was especially helpful!! That great info even without needing the robber info! Thanks!!!
This is the best tutorial I’ve seen so far…thank you for every detailed and clear explanation regarding each step! I’ve waiting for the delivery of my secondhand Brother KH881 machine and another secondhand Brother KR850 ribber next week. Am very excited to start this journey with other knitters worldwide. Although, unlike most of you out there knitting, I’m afraid I’m late into this craft! Could you also post a tutorial on what things to check out, clean or do when setting up a KH881 and how to maintain this, etc. God bless. Thank you!!!
I was looking for information about the mast because the instruction book didn't make sense. Your explanation was exactly what I needed plus I found out the bonus info about the needle positions and the distance between the two beds. Something I didn't even know I needed to be aware of. Thank you!
This is the clearest video I have seen with respect to the ribber. You are very clear and thorough. Thank your time and the effort you put into your video. Well, well done and thank you.
Finally I feel I can attach my ribber successfully! Clear concise and well demonstrated instructions. I have been avoiding using the ribbing attachment which really limits the versatility in garment making. You have no idea how thankful I am to have stumbled upon your channel. Thank you.
Thank you! Very informative and useful instruction! Finally, I have attached my ribber successfully! I have been puzzled about using the ribbing attachment.😒😒 I am so lucky and thankful to have stumbled upon your channel. Thank you indeed.
Such a clear and precise explanation! This made the whole process crystal clear. A video well worth watching, particularly when the booklets don’t always make it clear what you are supposed to do and in what order to do it followed by the checking procedure making sure you have done it properly. So, thank you very much. Brilliant!!!
Thanks so much for this video. It is very well done and has provided me with clear and concise instruction. Was lovely to hear your Scottish accent too. A wee bit of home for me. Thanks again.
Very helpful. My ribber has been in the too hard cupboard for quite a while as it has never played nicely . Turns out all it needed was a nudge to the right a mm. Did not know the two screws were the adjustment point! Knitting like a dream now.
Thanks Michelle! I've had my ribber for a couple of months and knew something wasn't right. I didn't know you could unscrew it to reduce the size of the gap. Works much better now!
Thank you so much! I have watched several ribber videos and found yours to be very clear concerning the adjustments I needed to make. Had to do some reading to get the ones for the KR260, but you gave me the clues I needed!
Love this video. Thank you so much! I knew the ribber needed adjustment, but couldn't quite understand how to do it. One question though, the peg that connects the two carriages together does not fit the slot all the way up..it goes about halfway. Is there an adjustment to that I can do? The two beds I am using are the Kr850 ribber and KH950 knitting machine. Thanks! 😊
Hiya! Great video and well explained! I wonder if you could help me with a problem I’m having with my brother KH-891 and KR-850 ribber attachment. The main bed appears to work perfectly as a single bed, however when attaching the ribber, the carriages struggled to knit correctly without jamming or causing problems and was very squeaky. After a deep clean of the ribber bed and a good oil there is no squeaking and the needles appear to be moving smoothly. However after a little bit of knitting a full rib the carriage began to slow down and squeak and feel slightly restrained, almost jamming it feels going from right to left but not the other way. I have double checked all possibilities I can think of, needles, oiling, fluff, ribber alignment, ribber height, check under the carriages, but I just don’t know what could be causing this. Any help would be much appreciated :) p.s. I don’t know if this has anything to do with it but is the ribber carriage meant to have a little jiggle room if you pull it towards you or should it be completely secure to the ribber bed with no movement ? I hope this makes sense ! Many thanks, Georgie!
There could be a few issues causing this and without seeing exactly what is happening during the process it would be hard for me to pinpoint. The ribber carriage does not lock into its own bed so the only thing holding it in place would be the sinker plate, just ensure the sinker plate is seated correctly.
Hi hope you can help me I have a KH 830 knitting machine and ribber when I set the machine to knit 1x1 rib it does not connect yarn to the main bed Thankyou
if it is falling off after you have set up the ribber then I'd suggest that perhaps the back rail is not seated properly. However, if it is simply falling away from the bed (the top edge as such) then it could be the angle of your setup. It should stay in place when in use with the ribber connector arm but there is no front guide rail for the top of the carriage to secure to the ribber bed on it's own.
Hello! Thank you for your video! I have one question, how can I avoid the needles of the ribber bed from colliding with the main bed's gate pegs when the ribber is on H position? And is it normal if the ribber brother kr-850 doesn't have a sponge bar, it only has a plastic bar. Thanks again and regards!
The ribber here for this machine it is a plastic bar, ensure when the bar is inserted that the two edge ridge side faces you. As for your question on ribber needles colliding with the main machines gate pegs, this should not be happening and could be an alignment issue or a damaged machine. If you manually push the needles up and down on the rubber bed there should be no collision or contact with the main bed parts.

Hi Georgie, I am having the exact same problem with the exact same machines, did you ever work out how to fix it? Thanks

Hello, when I set this up the carriage on the ribber bed keeps falling off... have you ever encountered this, is there any way to secure it ?
