Yeaah, Hermetica is the greatest heavy metal band from Argentina. But is a shame that it is almost impossible to translate perfectly the lyrics because there is so much argentinian slang going on you know? This guys talk about the streets, the poverty, decadence of a society full of consumerism and banalization. Ricardo Iorio (Bassist) was the one who wrote most lyrics i think, and later he went his own road with his band Almafuerte. Good luck Rob, always a pleasure to listen to you and your praise for Argentina's music!

Ir you want to test another great banda from Argentina you should react to Apocalipsis, the song 1982. It's about the Malvinas war. The song was recorded un 1985.
A bit of history. Argentina has legimate reclamation on Malvinas island since 1833, when the british invaded them.
Ay the Time ir the war Argentina was under the a militar unlegitimate govement that coupe the state on march 1976. They kidnapp and disapiered thousand of people un their reign of state terrorism. In 1982 it's power was really fragile. Galtieri, the dictator at that time was drunk when declared the war.
Nevertheless, Argentina fought brave, with a lot less militar power and equipment. The losses were the same on both sides.
The song tale the story of two soldiers, a professoinal pilot and Rookie young guy.

If I remember correctly it's a song of 1991
Exactly: "Vientos..." is part of Hermética's second LP [yep... It was originally edited on VINYL] "Ácido Argentino" [Argentine Acid, a name given by a hydrochloric acid factory that poured its waste on a brook] from 1991. It is regarded as the best record ever.
Fun fact: It was edited on CD, as well, but it actually became the first or second album ever released in Argentina on such format.
2nd fun fact: In the studio version, before O'Connor starts to sing, a passage from an iconic book ["El Gaucho Martín Fierro" by José Hernández] is recited by the band, but it was reversed. It speaks about unity, fraternity and stoicism.
I would geek about "La 'H'" for eons xD it's my favourite band, after all...

No tanto por la música, pero si por lo q dice. La canción deja plasmado el comienzo de la destrucción de un país...."más de uno se a entregado al polvo inca" por el avance del natcotrafico, "el pobre envejecido sigue la procesión con silencioso instinto de privación", la impotencia de los beneficiarios de los planes de retiro que mueren de hambre sin poder defenderse, "si me atrapan las redes de la osamenta, por pobre, de seguro, que me harán la boleta", hace referencia a la iniquidad con la q la justicia juzga al pobre vs el rico y la represión de cualquiera q quiera oponerse. Eran rock y poesía
