When I originally walked out of the theatre broken hearted, I said I would never watch this horrible movie again. But since Paramount is streaming it for free, I decided I would just in case I had been overly critical the first time. NOPE. Although being able to fast forward thru the numerous talkey parts helped a little, the movie is still horrible and makes no sense. The US created the AI and uploaded it on to a Russian sub, where it "re-wrote itself" into the entity and "overreacted" to sink said sub. At that point, it is in total control. Yet for some completely unknown reason, it wants Gabrielle of all people to gain control of it. Wait, what, why would it relinquish control of itself? But it does want him to work for it, which for some other completely unknown reason means messing with the IMF and ultimately killing Ilsa. To gain control, you've got to have the key, which for some other completely unknown reason unlocks hardware located on the sunken sub. I'll give them movie latitude that the US could hack and then upload software onto the sub, but how in the world did we get hardware large enough that it needs this key to unlock on there? So many problems with this movie.
