Very good quote at the end with a lot of truth. Find who you want to be, and where you want to go.

Yes, we can't blame anyone but ourselves, because we allowed it to happen. When I look back at things that happened to me, I realized there was a great lesson to learn from it. My past has made me who I am now, a better man.

"Things that happened to me" you said. But you also said "I realized"
Things happened and so realization happened. Correction of what you already realized, is next to happen. After many more realizations, understanding that knowledge does not improve your experience, will come )

Don't blame yourself. You and yourself have no reason to blame each other )

If one doesn't rely on ones past reaching ones goals, this journey will be defined more by others than by oneself. Oneself for several years develops relying on experiences from ones past, not those of others present. Reflection is helpful.

Funny how this important lesson has become more and more frequently learned too late amongst the general population (especially those that experience a midlife crisis) yet it has never and likely will never be required learning in capitalistic schools & societies.

Capitalistic schools pursue capitalistic goals, don't they? Just as they don't teach capitalism in shaolin. What they don't teach you here?

That's a lot of words that seems right for the mind that think wrong. >>> How about the principle of "Don't pull what you like, don't push what you hate" You encourage to act to pull positiveness in to your life. By doing that you asking for negative backlash. There is positive in every negative. just be aware of it, don't try to be positive.

I have no problem helping people ... who deserve it ... there are a lot of 'takers' out here ... and that is sad on its face.
Case in point ... I went to a filling station which had a food mart ... as I was walking toward the door a man approached and asked me for a couple of dollars 'for gas' I said 'no' - as I was walking in the door 2 ladies coming out asked me for a few dollars "they were just in an accident/needed gas'' I told them 'no'.
    Why?
I noticed as the ladies were exiting they had lottery tickets in their hands ... they didn't need money for 'gas' or 'being in an accident' or any other 'thing' ... they approached yet another dude who came in the store with the SAME madness asking for 'dollars' ...
I confronted them and asked them if they needed 'gas' so bad - WHY were they buying lottery tickets? ?
As I said, there are cons and takers out here ...

There is more practical wisdom in your short story than in 17 minutes of this video. For those who notice.
