My mum made my siblings and I stockings when we were born, and every year she sews a button or applique on it to commemorate each year's Christmas. Highly recommend, she's still doing it and it's the best bit of Christmas to see what she's chosen to add! And we're 23 and 22 now 😂😂

I love the idea of wrapping stuff he already has, because you know he'll love it. I wish I'd thought of it when my kids were little. Also, I completely sympathize with getting your kid something you think they'll love and then finding out you personally hate it. At least you discovered the faun aversion before giving it to him.

Haha I love when you brought up second or third, this video has a lot of "first born" energy. I'm sure most parents hope they can continue this thoughtfulness throughout all their kids, and I trust you guys will try. But as a second born...don't worry about it, second born kids love getting to play with their older sibling's stuff 😂

The first thing my son sort of "mentally" found funny was a winter play video with Spot. He laughed all the time when playing or being silly, but for him to take in media & then laugh at it seemed amazing to me. We watched that scene over & over (Spot sleds into a pile of snow). He was fascinated watching Spot. I was fascinated watching him. It was wonderous. (He's 28 now, & still wonderous but not in quite the same ways.)

I accidentally left it on the wall by the bridge and by the time I remember I found a boxer dog had come along and claimed it for himself 😂 I was distraught but comforted that the dog enjoyed spot as much as I did today ! Squeaky toys usually have a little hole for the air to escape, which is what makes it squeak. If you block this hole with some liquid glue, it will stop squeaking.

So freaking cute. Love the sort of hilarious implied cross-over into disability spoon theory without ever actually mentioning it. Also had to chuckle at your pronunciation as "Tommy Teepee" because it was always more like "tippy" in my household and I fondly remember having some of that brand's cups, if not for myself for my younger cousins. Claudia, you ARE quite pretty.
On a couple non-spoon notes, I'm really hoping for some cute footage of Ru tearing paper and such. What kind of lesbian is anti-rainbow?! I love the baby tangle (tangles being one of my fidgets)

When my brother was 1, his favorite toy was some glass jars that were in the cupboard. He used them as drums and would stare at them for hours (with supervision, ofc). We were always worried he would break them or get hurt, but at the end of the day, my mom was the one who ended up breaking it, not the toddler.

We always got giant jars of pickles. It was like 4 gallons with the giant full size deli pickles. My grandparents would wrap them every year but my brother and I of course knew the giant, matching, round presents were our jars of pickles. I have no idea how, or why, this was tradition for us but it was. As a side note I absolutely hate pickles, but never told them that because they always seemed excited to give them to us. It's okay though, my brother always ate them. And honestly, I would do anything to be able to get one more jar of Christmas pickles...

So when I was very, very little (around 2), my mom bought a stocking from the store and some glitterglue. She sat me in my high chair and together she helped me apply the glitter to the stocking. Of course the pattern has no rhyme or reason, but it's definitely a memory she holds close to her heart.

This is so adorable and whenever my friends and family have any new kids (alas I'll never have any of my own) I'm going to suggest they do the same. It's a great way to get the concept of gift giving to a child and feels very 'M word'

Don't feel bad about your stocking, Jessica! My mom made mine and I *love* it...but it faces the wrong direction. These are the things that make them special.

What a video to cheer one up and give a cosy Christmas hug! 🎄🎅🤶🎁 such a beautiful way to do Christmas presents , I was the same for my girls first Christmas , simple yet joyful. I remember the spot book as a child too but we had them in the Irish language as far as I remember.

I really felt with Jessica, when Claudia did what appeared to be destroying Jessica‘s world.
You love something dearly that has a flaw you’re not even aware of and then, somebody audaciously has to point this flaw out, which makes you look differently at your prized possession from then on.
Right after the Claudia‘s revelation I was like: „CLAUDIA, SHHHH! What the point of revealing that to Jessica?“
Call me naive if you want, but childhood memories or toys and stuff like that - if these are good of course - should remain the way they are for eternity because they are like an anchor to the times that will never come back when we all were young and pure.

I had something that was not quiet as cherished but when somebody pointed out a flaw in it, it was put away never to be seen again. The person felt so guilty as they didn't mean to do it and I'm sure Claudia is the same now

@@ejasmith I had the exact same experience: I was gifted a globe with a magnifying glass and I was so proud of it, because I could practice my Geography skills now. One day, however, the glass got lost. A lady who was at our home had accidentally taken it with her. I didn’t look at the globe ever again and although the magnifying glass was found eventually, it wasn’t the same anymore, because now it had a big scratch all the way through the middle of the whole glass. And one day, the entire globe was gone. My globe was also a prized possession of mine, but when the original condition was altered, everything changed.
