@@DanielDeai too bad sekiro will never be a better series even I must say tenchu is way better. They should make a new one or at the very least remaster the series
In which version? I played the usa, the japanese, the shinobi version back and forth several times and didnt hear any npc say f you, they call you "weak", "show yourself" or just grunt or something til they become idle.
This game will always have a special place in my heart, so very well done in every department, the intro and soundtrack still gives me chills. It was such an atmospheric game and for me, the first decent Ninja game - which actually centered its gameplay around stealth. Even 20 years on there is something so impressive about this game, coming from someone who has just finished my third play through of GoT on PS5……there is just a certain type of cool that even Ghost doesn’t quite capture -GoT itself is a gaming masterpiece which is a compliment in itself to Tenchu….it paved the way for stealth games of today…..in such a slick and stylish way with so much atmosphere and an absolute killer (excuse the pun) soundtrack. Now THIS is a game that while it may never get a fully new game, at least deserves a lovingly crafted remake to next-gen consoles - still keeping the soundtrack and original sound effects…..would be a day one purchase for me.
Track running in the back for level 3 rescue the captive ninja (caves) kicks tush, also applies to background track for level 4 cross the checkpoint, and level 1 and 2 track, and level 8 cure the princess track. I love all these, combined with this opening tune
I like the symbolism of this intro. I think it may be intended to have a Buddhist idea to it. Life and all things are temporary and you could die at any time, so throw caution and your own safety to the wind and complete the task by any means necessary. Dismiss ideas of morality and mercy and uphold duty. Loyalty and obedience to one's lord are supreme above all other concerns.
@@vikingfortiesfaeroes I think it's a much riskier life style/code when it comes to ninjas who served feudal lords despite their rebellious origin in the first place
I absolutely adore the idea that ninja clans existed. It's poetic, and thrilling. Also a total fairy tale. Truth is they were just samurai in covert-mode.... Farmers with knives and sticks don't out-technique trained lifelong soldiers weilding 3FT Razor Blades.... Samurai vs Shinobi (Ninja) goes like this 1.) One-on-One fight...🙄 2.) Ninja sneaks Samurai....HOPEFULLY SUCCESSFULLY...or🙄

Heck, if it was'nt for Hattori Hanzo weakening his army, Oda Nobunaga would've lasted a couple more years. There's even a History documentary film about a time where if im not wrong, Hanzo or another shinobi infiltrated a castle to rescue the daughters of another lord that were given to a lord as a peace offering.
@@clintrhodus5821 The modern ninja is just romanticized into the stealthy, magic-wielding, super-fast assassin stereotype that most people know and love today. In reality they were mostly just spies and saboteurs. I remember back in the day when i discoverzd this game i thought it was crap without trying it cause some friend told me so cause he did not understand the stealth thing. One day i watched another friend playin' it for real and i felt in luv with it, bought it, played all the games til the ps2. After the ps2 era i lost touch with it.

The movements in tenchu 3 and tenchu z and dark souls are ugly. Tenchu 1 and 2 moved like real ninjas. In 3 and z and dark souls, they glide strangely uglyly
actually tenchu Z is probly the best movement from the series and drew from movements in Bujinkan Ninpo/Ninjustu heavily for both stealth kills and for basic movements like dive-rolls etc. the only real issues with Z were that the grading system was broken and for some people there weren't enough levels, but the level thing never bothered me, Gohda's prefecture is small, there isn't that much to it, it makes sense all the corrupt samurai go to the same high class teahouse, it's likely the only one in town and i actually liked running multiple different missions on the same map from different approach angles. Wrath of Heaven's movement looked like tenchu 1 and 2 but felt smoother, the only complaints i have there is that for some reason rikimaru feels like he weighs 900 pounds, and the Wrath of Heaven is a cheap move to spam. i don't know about the Wrath but i think they wanted riki to feel more traditional and reserved, but they just made him into a Tank. the games that stand out to me as problematic from movement are Kurenai and tenchu Wii/4. kurenai broke the wrath engine, i think they were trying to make the game handle more like it's competitor "Red Ninja". tenchu Wii was just a dumpster fire. but yeah, Z was actually the cleanest and more researched/realistic of the movement engines.
We need a remake of this game but with the same opening and ending style, and exactly the same soundtrack.

Why do you people insist on wanting things remade? Just play the original 😂
Sekiro was going to be the remake, but they decided to leave it as a new franchise.
No they would fuck it up with PC bs

Still slaps. Tenchu was ahead of it's time while still being a perfect product of it's time.
They really should make a new one or atleast remaster stealth assassins
