I bought my first fender mexican telecaster and squier 40th anniversary jazzmaster a week ago.There was a good discount on both. I have to say I'm really impressed with the squier but I'm thinking of refunding the telecaster because it doesn't even hold the tune after setting it up, and pickups are very bright compared to american ones. Neck is good tho. I'd highly recommend 40th anniversary squiers.
I got one at sweetwater and can't believe how nice the pickups sound.
I did swap the pickguard.
