  • This cocktail has many names. The Attention Cocktail, The Atty Cocktail and finally Arsenic and Old Lace. This is a classic gin cocktail, same style as a Martini but with the addition of creme de violette and absinthe.
    I make two versions to compare.
    Standard recipe
    3 dashes Absinthe
    3/4 oz (22.5ml) Dry Vermouth
    1/4 oz (7.5ml) Creme de Violette
    2 oz (60ml) Gin
    Stir, serve up and garnish with an orange twist.
    Maison Premiere version
    3 dashes Orange Bitters
    1/4 oz (7.5ml) Absinthe
    1/2 oz (15ml) Creme de Violette
    3/4 oz (22.5ml) Dry Vermouth
    1 3/4 oz (52.5ml) Gin
    Stir, serve up and garnish with an orange twist AND a lemon twist.

    • @WhiskeySugarBitters
      @WhiskeySugarBitters  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      They look pretty cool right? Definitely not for the weak lol, you just have to stir them WELL to dilute them enough. Hmm...I think it depends what mood I'm in to be honest. The MP version is a lot richer which I dig sometimes, and sometimes I just want something lighter and straightforward. I'm sure if I was sitting at their bar I would LOVE their version, kinda like when you're having a Pina Colada on a paradise beach..if you know what I mean.

    I don’t have any dry vermouth around but I do have Lillet Blanc. Do you think that would work or or maybe too sweet?

    • @WhiskeySugarBitters
      @WhiskeySugarBitters  ปีที่แล้ว

      I absolutely think you should try it! But just like you said, it might be a smidge sweet so try with a 1/4 oz less to begin. OR scale the gin up a little bit to dry it out. But either way, I'm sure you can make it work with Lillet. Let me know how it turns out!
