Nappy said the crit on the krook mattered and he wouldve won easily if it didn't happen. He said that swellow did the job. he's wrong. Shady even said that he would wear the Swellow down through burn damage then Mach punch to finish, so Infernape was not staying in, and Shady has Blissey and Mew to wear down the Swellow. Lets remember Shady won 4-0. not 1-0. he had a full HP Blissey remaining, and a mew. I know Nappy feels hard done by, but its clear that Shady STILL wouldve won since Shady already knew what he was going to do if the Swellow had more HP.

I think T-wave on Blissey is a must, especially when the opponent has a Gengar. It causes lots of mindgames with Rotom and krook, sure, but still worth it(because the only one out of those two that can hurt Blissey is krook, Rotom is easily walled by Blissey who can seismic toss away). Obviously the krook lasted very long but he didn't know that in the prep, so T-wave wouldve been good.
The crit on Cradily mattered, the crit on Krookodile didn't. Nappy's biggest mistake was not switching in Krookodile on Pinsir and letting Gengar go down. Shady played very well and no major mistakes or misplays.

BigRootGigaDrainGengar It really didn't because Mew could take any hit from Krook due to the colbur berry and KO it in return then Mew and Blissy could have wittled down Swellow enough to where the battle would've played out the way it ended with Infernape. The only thing that could've saved Nappy would be a Gunk Shot miss.
+Pakar Rhoy Had Nappy used his head and switched in Krook- it would have taken free CC damage, but to say that Shady would have left Pinsir in just to get knocked out by Krook is silly. He could have easily switched into anything else. Additionally, Pinsir would even be at 75%, because it avoided the sludge wave. Plus- without Rotom, Shady could have even defogged and gotten Pinsir in again without taking stealth rocks again. TL;DR: Shady had the clear advantage, so it is much more reasonable to say that he probably would have won- not definitively of course because anyone can throw any game, even if they're up 6-1. But Nappy claiming 100% victory is ridiculous, regardless of if anything was different-cause no one knows. because it would just be a different game entirely.

The game could have been way closer if it wasn't for those crits. But I do agree that Shady was the better player in this match (and that Nappy got wrecked and is salty as hell atm, even though Shady is his friend).
Didn't matter for who won, did matter for how much closer the match could have been. I never thought Nappy would have won this game if the crits didn't happen, although they did boost Shady's advantage a bit more. Which is all I'm trying to say tbh.

POST BATTLE SPOILERS So I just watched Nappy's post-battle comment thing at the end of his video... and I largely disagree. Moves missing and crits hitting are both operating on the same mechanic, as in there's a fixed percentage chance of either happening, depending on the move selected. Also, I don't think the crit on Krook mattered much, it just shortened the battle, maybe made the margin of victory a little greater. He may have said he wasn't salty, but there seemed to be just a little more than the daily dosage of NaCl in that video.

I totally agree with you because every attacking move has a chance to crit each time it is used, unless it's a fixed damaged move like nigh shade. And whether that chance is high or low, it's something that we won't know because the game doesn't tell us

The crit did not matter against Krookodile, close combat onto the Krookdile after it to the CC from the Pinsir for 44%-51% would have to deal with another CC from Infernape that would've picked up the KO with no intimidate and it being STAB. Then Mach punch the swellow let America stall out the burn damage till a mach punch would KO doing 37%-43% Blissey would've lived a facade and would be best to soft boiled till death. Then the gunk shot on Gardevoir cleaned up. That hax against Cradily would've played out the game much differently. but Nappy has been rather lucky in his pass matches, he can not be salty about losing when it didn't matter at all. In the later part of the game. GG well played to Shady and Nappy both.
Someone probably already said that but the crit on Krook definetely didn't matter, Shady already had the game at this point of the game with his Nape, all he had to do is let Swellow get weakened until it's in Mach Punch range, which would have been no problem at all with the burn, Rocks and bulk like Mew's and Blissey's in the back. Not saying this to hate on Nappy or anything but what he said about it at the end of his vid it was just false. Crit on Cradily mattered though because it's hard to say how things would have played out then although IMO Shady was still in the overall better position to win this game.

It didn't seem worth it to me, especially with swallow possibly having quick attack. My initial attack was me guaranteeing damage on gengar, and potentially KO-ing. But of course, hindsight says SD! :)

They're both RNG -programmed into the game to happen a certain % of the time- that no one can control. Does he think the crit. mechanic is just a glitch or something? 2) To say the crit on milotic didn't matter - then predict ALL of Shady's moves afterwards - discounting any credit that Shady would just adjusted to the situation - right after nappy says, if the Cradily had lived "it would have been a huge benefit -[who knows what would have happened]". That's just an asymmetric thought process aka ridiculous bias. Show your opponent some respect - if you're going try and discount why you lost to RNG - admit that the most you can claim is that you don't know what could have happened. Which is duh and == to: TL;DR: "the game would have been different, had the game gone down differently" -> except nappy knows exactly how it would have gone down -> even though "Shady's the more experienced battler"

All you can assume is that Shady would get another chance at getting a high roll with Pinsir- and that would have ended the game there. Again- the conclusion we arrive at again is that we don't know how it would have gone down. It's not possible (or at least irrational) to make assumptions on how the game would have played out. Especially to claim 100% victory. I'm not taking a stance on any of the RNG, whether "it would have mattered or not". I'm so happy nappy lost, I felt as though he's been feeling high and mighty for going 5-0 but doesn't realize that the matches he won were extremely based in hax, and I don't mean just that I mean above average.
The fact that he made a second outro that basically him crying about hax, considering a good 75% of his battles that he won was because of hax, yea, I 100% agree with you.
The post commentary on the nappy side of this battle is so bad... He didn't put a post commentary with calcs at the end of the other battles where he got game changing hax especially against Nexus when he got a very crucial knock off crit on Nexus' Uxie. He really had no reasons to do that besides pure salt, he could have jut left a comment. But this whole edit post commentary was way too much inappropriate especially because it was against shady. And just for the record seed flare missing is also hax. Every move is programmed to have at least 6.25% chance to crit and seed flare had 15% chance to miss, so when you throw a move you can beg for getting a crit as Nappy was begging for the seed flare to miss. It's the same thing, Hax. And he even disabled the commentary on his vid...

I really don't see how people can be hating on Nappy. When I watched the post-commentary I didn't see him belittling or hating or being salty or anything. What I saw was him venting on unfortunate situations. None of this venting was directed at Shady or how he played (for the most part, Nappy praised Shady). I'm starting to think you all are just trying to spark aggravation between the fan-bases of two good friends for the sake of a tournament that was meant to be FUN. Side note, great win Shady, my man! It isn't easy breaking an undefeated streak.
See how much better this team is with Mega Pinsir? Even when Rocks are up and it fails to sweep, it still punches holes in the opposing team that lets other Pokemon bring home the win.
Huge win that hopefully will provide a big boost for the Mankeys in the next few weeks. The hax did help out with critting Cradily and Krookodile but the real momentum-changer was taking out the Gengar, and whilst that was a misplay on your opponent;s part, you had the wherewithal to take advantage of the opportunity - good luck with the next few matches

The game could have been way closer if it wasn't for those crits. But I do agree that Shady was the better player in this match (and that Nappy got wrecked and is salty as hell atm, even though Shady is his friend).

Didn't matter for who won, did matter for how much closer the match could have been. I never thought Nappy would have won this game if the crits didn't happen, although they did boost Shady's advantage a bit more. Which is all I'm trying to say tbh.

So I just watched Nappy's post-battle comment thing at the end of his video... and I largely disagree. Moves missing and crits hitting are both operating on the same mechanic, as in there's a fixed percentage chance of either happening, depending on the move selected. Also, I don't think the crit on Krook mattered much, it just shortened the battle, maybe made the margin of victory a little greater. He may have said he wasn't salty, but there seemed to be just a little more than the daily dosage of NaCl in that video.
+Uzair M It's funny, because I didn't feel Nappy was salty right after the loss; he handled losing very well, and I was impressed :) It was the post-game commentary that he seemed a bit . . . more upset :P

I totally agree with you because every attacking move has a chance to crit each time it is used, unless it's a fixed damaged move like nigh shade. And whether that chance is high or low, it's something that we won't know because the game doesn't tell us

I didn't realize how many nasty people are a part of Nappy's fanbase. I understand why he disabled the comments now. GG Shady, you definitely deserved the W. Nappy, I know you'll bounce back next week. You either win or learn. This week is just a learning experience.
The crit did not matter against Krookodile, close combat onto the Krookdile after it to the CC from the Pinsir for 44%-51% would have to deal with another CC from Infernape that would've picked up the KO with no intimidate and it being STAB. Then Mach punch the swellow let America stall out the burn damage till a mach punch would KO doing 37%-43% Blissey would've lived a facade and would be best to soft boiled till death. Then the gunk shot on Gardevoir cleaned up. That hax against Cradily would've played out the game much differently. but Nappy has been rather lucky in his pass matches, he can not be salty about losing when it didn't matter at all. In the later part of the game. GG well played to Shady and Nappy both.

Someone probably already said that but the crit on Krook definetely didn't matter, Shady already had the game at this point of the game with his Nape, all he had to do is let Swellow get weakened until it's in Mach Punch range, which would have been no problem at all with the burn, Rocks and bulk like Mew's and Blissey's in the back. Not saying this to hate on Nappy or anything but what he said about it at the end of his vid it was just false.
Crit on Cradily mattered though because it's hard to say how things would have played out then although IMO Shady was still in the overall better position to win this game.

It didn't seem worth it to me, especially with swallow possibly having quick attack. My initial attack was me guaranteeing damage on gengar, and potentially KO-ing. But of course, hindsight says SD! :)

1) I cannot believe Nappy thinks the game mechanics for a "Miss", is not conceptually identical to the game mechanic for a Critical Hit. How delusional. They're both RNG -programmed into the game to happen a certain % of the time- that no one can control. Does he think the crit. mechanic is just a glitch or something?
2) To say the crit on milotic didn't matter - then predict ALL of Shady's moves afterwards - discounting any credit that Shady would just adjusted to the situation - right after nappy says, if the Cradily had lived "it would have been a huge benefit -[who knows what would have happened]". That's just an asymmetric thought process aka ridiculous bias. Show your opponent some respect - if you're going try and discount why you lost to RNG - admit that the most you can claim is that you don't know what could have happened. Which is duh and == to:
TL;DR: "the game would have been different, had the game gone down differently" -> except nappy knows exactly how it would have gone down -> even though "Shady's the more experienced battler"

All you can assume is that Shady would get another chance at getting a high roll with Pinsir- and that would have ended the game there. Again- the conclusion we arrive at again is that we don't know how it would have gone down. It's not possible (or at least irrational) to make assumptions on how the game would have played out. Especially to claim 100% victory.
I'm not taking a stance on any of the RNG, whether "it would have mattered or not". Instead, I'm emphasizing the hypocrisy in Nappy stating he would have won 100%, if not for __ or __ . Nappy claims switching Krook in would save Swellow damage (from Pinsir quick atk)-but fail to give his opponent any credit that Shady might adapt to the situation and change his moves (e.g. Pinsir would have much less dmg on him, and he probably wouldn't have stayed in to let Pinsir get knocked out by Krook) The point is: Shady would not have just execute his moves identically if something else had happened-The whole situation would have been different, and we don't know (not just about milotic, the entire game). That's my point.
Had the game down down differently (different rolls, different moves, different RNG), then it'd simply be a completely different game, which has nothing to do with this one.
Last statement: if we wanted to make educated guesses on what might have happened (had Krook not gotten crit'd- trying to figure out who would have won had Cindy not gotten crit'd is ridiculous cause it was like turn 4), Shady had the advantage at the point so I would say he probably would/could have won, but that's as far as any logical person could conclude. (again, why Nappy's postgame was just illogically biased)
I hope you don't take any of this as me being contentious, just laying out my thoughts. Too many people just claim ad hominem emotional arguments. Just a discussion!

The post commentary on the nappy side of this battle is so bad... He didn't put a post commentary with calcs at the end of the other battles where he got game changing hax especially against Nexus when he got a very crucial knock off crit on Nexus' Uxie. He really had no reasons to do that besides pure salt, he could have jut left a comment. But this whole edit post commentary was way too much inappropriate especially because it was against shady. And just for the record seed flare missing is also hax. Every move is programmed to have at least 6.25% chance to crit and seed flare had 15% chance to miss, so when you throw a move you can beg for getting a crit as Nappy was begging for the seed flare to miss. It's the same thing, Hax. And he even disabled the commentary on his vid...

I really don't see how people can be hating on Nappy. When I watched the post-commentary I didn't see him belittling or hating or being salty or anything. What I saw was him venting on unfortunate situations. None of this venting was directed at Shady or how he played (for the most part, Nappy praised Shady). I'm starting to think you all are just trying to spark aggravation between the fan-bases of two good friends for the sake of a tournament that was meant to be FUN.
Side note, great win Shady, my man! It isn't easy breaking an undefeated streak.

See how much better this team is with Mega Pinsir? Even when Rocks are up and it fails to sweep, it still punches holes in the opposing team that lets other Pokemon bring home the win.
Huge win that hopefully will provide a big boost for the Mankeys in the next few weeks.
