I liked how she chose herself and didn’t go back to her ex. The ex literally excluded her and didn’t respect her at all for those years. He bought into the 2nd fl cries and tears and all her fakery. The ending where the friend tells the fl the reason why the ml was always leaving and helping the 2nd fl was ridiculous. It’s like trying to persuade the fl into thinking that the ml had his reasons and it’s okay to be treated like a after thought because he feels guilty and whatever else. The amount of time in this 3 hour drama that they waste on ridiculing the fl and abusing her mentally emotionally they could show the audience more repercussions towards the ml and 2nd fl. It’s exhausting that these dramas only showcase 1% of the evil people getting punished. They always rush the ending where they get caught and never show us anything except that they went to jail or they get beat up once or twice. Anyways I love how the fl left and said I lost myself while she was with the ml. Even though there’s no light she will be the star for herself. It shows character that she chose her self and her happiness and well-being over anything else. The ml crying at the end and her walking away was awesome to see. ❤
This became a rough watch closer to the end. I've seen other versions but this is the first one where it completely explains why our ml is the way he is but it still does not give him the right to treat her they way he did over the last 7 years. He misplaced all his feelings and hurt her so deeply. I'm glad that even after she learned the whole truth she didn't stay. She needed to live for herself and he needs some serious amount of therapy. His priority should of always been fl, even if he built guilt towards sfl it wasn't his fault what happened but he allowed those feelings and sfl control him and hurt fl. It took a lot of effort for fl to escape him but after he finally realized the truth of everything he realized he could no longer hold her back. Our fl after finally waking up from her love brain began to stand up for herself and did her best to prevent people from messing with her. Plus her cursed mouth definitely helped out. I can't decide if my favorite parts were her cursing people or her forgetting she married someone else. Truthfully I kind of forgot for a bit as well since we never saw her husband again. Seriously what happened to him. The senior also kind of disappeared as well.

Bai's character dies before the story even starts and we only see her in flashbacks. Then there's another one where the FL dies at the end because the ML is a complete moron who allows a green tea to manipulate him.

If someone doesn't willingly give you these things, with their arms wide open, THEY AREN'T WORTH IT. No one, under any circumstances, is ever worth begging for.
Oh man! I’m glad they finally broke free from that toxic spiral they were stuck in! It really had them stuck! I was so proud of the FL for being as strong (and in some scenes just resigned) as she was. Heck! There were a couple places where even I wavered, so I was glad she stuck to her guns. (That scene where she told the doctor dude that it really wasn’t her giving him another chance explained it perfectly!) I liked that so many times the ML was called out on his hypocrisy by the FL and his friends. They didn’t let him get away with his willing blindness, and instead held a mirror up and MADE him acknowledge his faults and double standard. It was pretty cool (and I wish more shows did this! 😉). The final bit was so bittersweet for both of them, but I do think that was actually what needed to happen at that point and after all that they had been through. (I totally teared up a bit with him a couple times. 🥺) Now I’m going to take a bit of creative license (and maybe an unpopular opinion), but I can even see them possibly meeting up a few years down the road, when they’ve both had a chance to heal and grow, and the hurts aren’t as fresh and maybe, possibly, perhaps giving themselves another chance. (That is, if she hasn’t moved on. I don’t think he will, but she might.) I’d actually be okay with that. And that’s my 2 cents! 😜
There are so many versions of this drama. I have to say, they showcases most of the key points and issues in the FL decision of leaving ML and how he is easily manipulated and lied from 2FL. Example: engagement scene, FL marrying her neighbor, ML harassment and dominating attitude, 2FL lies of being sick, 2FL brother fake death, ML stomach sickness and depression, FL leaving him and never goes back. In other versions, it highlighted one or two, but this one fully explained and shown. Btw, I love these two beautiful leads. I'm glad they took on more serious and emotional issues.
This is probably the longest and most comprehensive version of He Haxiang Xu Xinran and Xia Qingqing saga. In other versions that I have seen Xia Qingqing (the character) often gets a whole lot of screen time, but in this one her appearance were minimal. I liked this version for that reason! They used the off screen real life chemistry of the male and female lead really well. For a vertical drama, I can say that I enjoyed it thoroughly!
I gotta say I had a good chuckle when he bent over in pain and startled sniveling at the Civil Affairs Bureau when Xingran told Hansheng she was already married since the day of their engagement cancelation. Even his doctor friend was disgusted with him. He called him a scumbag and that name stuck. He not only canceled the engagement but also publically humiliated the same gf by asking her to change because that side chick wore the same dress. Wow! This was even after he begged his way back for those 3 days to prove himself. The gf called him out! The doctor even knew it was inevitable, and he even complimented the gf on her generosity. Snort! She just gave Hansheng enough rope to hang himself with. That ring with the wrong name on it was shameless, too. I guess Hansheng never proofreads or inspects the handiwork either. How is he still in business as a CEO?
Never expected to get a Zhu Yi Wei-Bai Xin Yi version of this (He Han Sheng, Xu Xing Ran and Xia Qing Qing) storyline. This is the most detailed and comprehensive version so far.

This is the worst version where FL has superpowers of crow's curse mouth, leaving ML after 7 years of disrespect story. Too much entanglement. The best version is the one with Song Yujia as the FL and Karong as the new love interest. This is a fan favorite CP, and this story is one of my favorite stories, but this is a terrible version. It's like writers forgot they gave FL superpowers and a different husband until the end. And writers added to their entanglement by having FL adopted by ML's grandfather and they grew up together. Well...at least she does leave. The final scene was good dialogue.
Loved this FL. While she had a little of the unfortunate baby talk and schoolgirl outfits, she was so feisty, and it prevented her from seeming like a victim, which would've been easy in this role. ML's acting was amazing. He managed to keep his character human despite the terrible things he did. He was clearly a guy so clueless about how to love that all he could do was try to possess.
They love each other very much. But the writer let the evil woman succeed. I cried so much in the ending part. I hate the writer 😂😂😂😂 and the director of this movie 😂😂

Some scenes were really annoying but I was consoled with the fact that they are real life couple. So glad that the FL didn't go back to him. But then....What happened to the guy who got the marriage certificate with her?
He needed a certificate to adopt a child, I think. He wasn’t meant to be a romantic interest. The important thing was that marrying him blocked the ML from forcing the FL into marriage. It also pushed him to understand that she 100% meant it when she said they were over.
I like that she didn't go back to him but the beginning to the end of this scene is too boring..he always causes the girl harm but she always goes back to him, always and It's always so tiring to watch...such a toxic relationship, lack of trust and understanding towards the man please girls run away from this relationship otherwise you will go through it and die and he will continue to live his life peacefully...run away from this relationship especially when there is another completely crazy and insane woman in his life
Love is a funny thing. It has an energy all its own and its own lifeforce. It can create or destroy. It truly is the 5th element. When someone gives you their love, it's a priceless treasure and should be protected and cherished. The heavens give you a gift 🎁 and if it is rejected, karma smacks you down. If you truly don't love someone, be kind and set them free. Love brutally used or spurned becomes something dark and destructive. This fool found out when you've humiliated someone who loves you so much and abused that love fate takes over and it's someone else's turn and believe me that other person will cherish it. Love may be eternal, but it takes reciprocation.
This is a one off case where I sympathise more with the ML than anyone else. He is in an emotional quagmire....from his childhood till date I feel he is the most abused.
He was the FL’s abuser, both emotionally and physically. Like we definitely come round to sympathizing with him in the end but we can’t dismiss how his actions hurt the woman he claimed to love.
This is my favorite version of this script because it truly conveys that the ML believes he loves her, but we can see that he's just a narcissistic scumbag. You can clearly see the point where FL gave up on him but was powerless against his money and status. Great, emotion-filled acting on both their parts. Some scenes were really annoying but I was consoled with the fact that they are real life couple.

This is a one off case where I sympathise more with the ML than anyone else. He is in an emotional quagmire....from his childhood till date I feel he is the most abused.
He was the FL’s abuser, both emotionally and physically. Like we definitely come round to sympathizing with him in the end but we can’t dismiss how his actions hurt the woman he claimed to love.

This is my favorite version of this script because it truly conveys that the ML believes he loves her, but we can see that he's just a narcissistic scumbag. You can clearly see the point where FL gave up on him but was powerless against his money and status. Great, emotion-filled acting on both their parts. Only drawback was that weird side ponytail they kept giving FL
