Thanks for the video! I can't decide which one I would get for my audi A6 (2021), any advice? The MMB Max 3.0 is for me almost $100 more expensive, do you notice any difference between to two or am I missing something?
I personally like either the MMB Max for its beautiful user interface or the new Ottocast P3, but these are premium devices. If you want a more affordable one, then go for this new Carlinkit Ambient model
which one is better this newest version or the model before this is enough? any diff with the proce speed with the old model? like smoother or faster..
Bought the MMB box, it’s great… when it works. I keep having connection issues with the car and with wifi, apps not working (like Disney+) and not able to update, poor customer support when I’m addressing issues. Don’t give clear instructions and I’m now blocked on their WhatsApp. So yeah, real pity.

Mine treats the sim just like a cellphone would I am able to make calls and text with the respective apps and it is the number assigned to the sim

Yes, in order to use these apps like TH-cam, Netflix etc, you have to connect the device with internet, either via connecting to your mobile hotspot or inserting a sim card in the device

As per the manufacturers, this only works in cars with wired CarPlay function, but I am not sure about wired AA cars. My suggestion would be to order one from the reliable source that accepts returns and refunds easily, then try it out in your car, and if it doesnt work, return it and get your money back
I purchase the carlink plus but didn’t work on my radio, I have the Sony 9500 ES was told that I need a fully wireless carlink because the radio power wire only prov power to the box but no connection to the radio

Does your radio have a usb outlet? It’s required to connect carlinkit to the radio. Also, you have to already have wired CarPlay/ android auto for it function. Hope this helps
Thank you for the review. It would be helpful if you could include what are the specific specs that is different with this newer model compared to the older models. Is there a newer processor? How do they compare, maybe even a side by side comparison.
The main difference is the CPU , this Ambient model has SM6225 compared to the previous model with SM6125

It’s not like we will be using those 24hrs 7days a week. 😂 also i live in Thailand and they dont have it here. That’s why maybe it’s way too pricey esp if will order it thru Amazon.. I just want something good to be able to access carplay in the car nothing fancy.

I bought it today. When i connect the device via hotspot of my iPhone and then i go to autokit to see the iphone carplay screen, hotspot disconnects on device. When i back to device screen, hotspot internet doesn’t connect automatically. Is this notmal?
Yes, this is normal. There are 3 different systems on this platform, If you move out of native Android OS into the CarPlay system, then the internet gets disconnected and the carplay system will use internet with you phone

You will have to reconnect manually
Same occurs with Ottocast Picasou 2 Pro. The hotspot needs to be reconnected when switching between Android Auto and Apple Car Play. Also, anytime you decide to use your Apple iPhone it disconnects the HotSpot and reverts back to normal WiFi. These devices work a bit strangely when using WiFi or Blue Tooth. I try to avoid using BT. Best to use your Phone as HotSpot or get yourself an activated nano-SIM card which does cost money so I prefer using my phone setting as Hotspot because I have an Unlimited Plan Magenta Max -First Responder- from T-Mobile for a cost of $40 USD per month. Know your surroundings/location as there are WiFi Dead Zones in rural areas where the phone has No Signal Bars.

If I have 4G activated, it even appears activated on the screen, but when I don't have Wi-Fi, 4G doesn't work.
Apart from the Carlinkit I have 2 CarAIBOX, one with Android 13 and one with Android 11, the one with Android 13 has the same problem, 4g does not work when I don't have wifi, but the one with android 11 does work with 4g when I don't have wifi, It's the only one that works 🤷♂️
@@leodanfernandeztorres2366 I suggest you get in touch with the seller, they will help you troubleshoot. It could be network compatibility issues. These adapters with SIM option come in different models, some work with North America SIM networks, some in Europe and some for Japan etc. You need to make sure that yours is compatible with your network

I bought 2 Ambien carplay boxes to install in my Toyota Harrier. 2020 and installed in Mercedes Benz GLE 300D year 2020. Used the CarPlay box for about 1 month. Found two problems. 1. Apple Carpay reconnects itself often. 2. When opening the online radio app and Switching to open Google Maps causes a problem, unable to go back to playing other apps or change anything from the CarPlay box, that is, the CarPlay box hangs immediately. You have to disconnect the cable and restart it every time. Both problems are the same in both cars.

whats the point of this when you can get a tablet holder and put an ipad pro instead? way blazingly faster and seamless experience that this crappy android box that takes 30s to even boot up
Good point, that's what I thought a couple of years back when I started reviewing these devices. But I can tell you, a tablet is not the solution as it is very inconvenient. Where would you put the tablet holder, it will take a lot of space and block other buttons on the dash. You cant leave the tablet in the car, especially in extreme weathers. You cant have the audio from the tablet link to the car sound system in most vehicles, there are many more reasons why these CarPlay adapters are better than a tablet. There are faster devices that take 15-20 secs to start
@@MinistryReviewsSchaz you can get one of those tablet holders that fit into the cup holders, so it doesnt block off the dash area. A tablet can connect to the car's audio system via bluetooth so you get great surround sound while still using the ipad pro's superior screen, compared to the car's much smaller lower resolution screen. I just picked up a new car which has both wired and wireless carplay. Still deciding if i should get this android box or just use my ipad
