About 'I Love You', I agree that it's a great continuation of 'Boy', with an EDM vibe, the surprise at the chorus, and obviously the YG classic chanting at the final. I loved that "change of styles" and it was what most caught my attention, I noticed on the last reactions that Kevin has been talking about how the instrumental sometimes could be increased a little, but I think here in this case, it had the right amount of loudness since it was an "change of style" and it could cause some strangeness (even more haha). But I agree that sometimes we need a little more.
I agree with you about how the wave imagery mirrored the music! To me it sounded like for the first half of the chorus (at 1:48 in this vid) they were underwater and waves were crashing on top of them with that gritty compressed bass, but then when that cut out for the second half of the chorus at 1:56, it was like they had just emerged from underwater, gasping for air and finally able to breathe again. I thought the MV did a good job of conveying that with the LED screen. Great reaction as always Umu and Kevin! Thanks for your hard work.
Since the song was meant to showcase innocent, sweet young love that is also chaotic and overwhelming, the unexpected chorus and the constant change in the "vibe" of the song clearly reflects that - which is why I was not mad at the drop at all. I'm really excited to hear more music from Treasure in the future. I already loved Going Crazy before they debuted, and now I've been listening to Boy and I Love You on repeat. Bigbang, iKON, and Winner aren't really my style, so I'm happy that YG finally has a boy group with music that's more my taste. So, I was listening to some Beethoven in the background when this came out, and I thought: Oh well, just let it play until the music in this video starts. So, my brain was not quite as adept at recognizing voices as it may have been otherwise. Needless to say, I was quite confused by "Umu's" voice.
I think why umu can't get the waves visual in her head during the chorus and why the visual enhanced that part of the song is because it literally has waves crashing down making you feel like drowning and the metaphor drowning in love makes sense.

YG has this pattern with all its groups. They will have a party anthem, an emotional sing a long song, a tear jerker and just plain stupid bangers. And almost all their B-sides can be main tracks lol.
