Thanks for sharing. Nothing beats fresh GMO free fruits, vegetables and meats. Although Canada is a very beautiful place, I would trade it for healthy living and genuine people.

The thing about the stallholders that you mentioned at the end - I was wondering about that exact problem. It's similar to a vendor with a shop having a casual competitor come along to set themselves up for free right in front the shop entrance and steal customer traffic from the original who has the expense of paying rent and taxes presumably for the property. Does Guyana have *any* rules enforced about that or is it all a free-for-all market everywhere and anywhere?
Most places it is free for all if you are doing what many of these people are doing ( just a portable setup to sell ) They are taxing those roadside permanent stands now though, not only at the market, but everywhere.
Sugar is produced in all the counties in Guyana, including Demerara. Many of the 'Demerara Sugar' you purchase is not even produced on Guyana. It is being produced in other countries but labeled Demerara Sugar.
