- So this AMV is mostly about all those affected by the death of Summer Rose - particularly Ruby. So obviously, I placed a particular emphasis on her, followed by Yang and then Qrow. And if there had been any footage of Taiyang, I would've put him in there too.
If there's one thing I love about AMVs, it's their ability to tell a story through the use of different visuals put to lyrics. How you choose to interpret the lyrics and attach images to them can tell a really good story - which is what I aim for. Unfortunately (or fortunately?), I started the AMV with the same clip as my very first one (maybe it'll become a thing?). Also, am I the only one who feels like Winter & Qrow had a thing in the past? And that it maybe ended badly with everything that happened in his life, and that's why he started drinking? That's my headcanon anyway, and I tried to convey it here.
Before I forget, this AMV is also a tribute to Monty Oum. If not for his work, I might have never found the drive nor the outlet for my creative juices again. So thanks again, Monty.

It was kinda hard not to cry when warching this amv. When you know how depressing remnant is (world + songs), this really hits all the triggers of longing and melancholy.

Wow, this was a story all on it's own. I really like how you've cut across the scenes from character to relevant character, managing to turn some quite humorous scenes into a collective of moving emotions. Best ones were definitely the cutaways from and to some plain white text at the beginning and closing frames. May Monty rest in peace. Or laughter, one of the two. Commemorative jokes aside, I felt that the cut from Qrow's defeat at the hands of a barmaids short skirt to Raven's mask for a fraction of a second before we see him sitting with his nieces. That... That shook me, in a good way.
Masterful use of the song and the various scenes, an emotionally compelling message and a mix of every character in the show.
A beautiful tribute and tale of family, thank you for creating this, it was truly an enjoyable four... make that dozens of minutes, I kind of rewatched it several times.
+John Clements Yeah, this is still my favourite and most inspired. Like literally, it pretty much just made itself. The use of humorous scenes turning into serious ones... well that was just stemmed from a lack of material (which I then had to creatively use to convey the story that I had in my head - particularly for Qrow). Because there's just so much backstory with some of these characters... and I just made due with what I had. I'm just glad you took the time to write all this really. Thanks :)

Damn dude, I usually ain't a fan of those "RIP this guy" videos but I can't hate on the ones aimed at Monty. And damn you did a great job. It's beautiful. I love the part where you used Rooster teeth's tribute to Monty (the sunset with the birds) with team RWBY with the petals.
+gamingchrizie Oh man, I remember that part taking more time than it should've because I kept changing the crossfade style back and forth to make sure the sun & birds were still visible and would last in the shot. Looking back now, I have ways to do it much easier, but back then... good times.

You know, the concept behind this video and the song are both beautiful, but I feel like there aren't enough scenes currently available that properly show how each character was impacted by the death of Summer Rose. It's still a great video, just not as great as it could've been.

Now that I think about it, didn't The Wicked witch (Salem), set the scarecrow(Qrow) on fire. And didn't Monty's wife mention, that Ruby's eyes have something to qrow. Maybe it is upon his death, that she learns how to control them. Like the silver slippers.

That being said, it'd be nice to have in the back of my mind - I actually write down a list of potential songs to use for later - so just throw it my way XD.

+oh yeah yeah oh Despite what my nick implies, I don't steal them :D. I guess I just learn quickly. I have an affinity for art, and even then, when I tried new things (like pen instead of pencil; watercolour instead of acrylic), I always got better the more I did it - learning what worked and what didn't, and applying that to my next work. A lot of it is trial and error - beautiful accidents, and I'd say a bit of innate talent and a sharp eye. Sometimes I surprise myself honestly. I've also been influenced by ALOT of others' works.

+Alana Yang OH! Well, that's her uncle Qrow. He was mentioned before as the one who taught Ruby if you recall, but in Volume 3 you get to meet him. I'm guessing you haven't watched any of the new season then? It's up to Volume 3, and A LOT has happened. In fact, the season finale for Volume 3 just happened a few days ago. We're now waiting for Volume 4 :(, so I'd recommend catching up :). Oh, and stay off AMVs or any fandom til then... there's alot that gets spoiled. And prepare yourself... coz' RWBY gets alot... darker.
