Lamar's mom Felicia Jones is the main reason that Lamar is where he is today. She literally physically got out there and trained him on the beach. She got him his coaches, the supported him on his dream of being a starting quarterback on every level. She negotialted his contracts. His mom is the person who he should always listen to the most. Salute to both of them.

LJ needs to use his legs more but the big issue is that BAL has not been utilizing him in the DESIGNED running attack. If anyone knows the IQ I’m about to spew its Cam. You must make defenses respect his running ability and account for him EVERY handoff. You do this by incorporating zone reads, options, RPOs etc into the game plan. PHILLY has been doing it, BAL needs to get back to their truth. These runs cause the defensive keys to be disrupted and the byproduct is increased opportunity for the runners as defenders don’t know who’s getting the ball at mesh point. And here’s the bigger thing about this, it’s not about LJ running for 100, these plays are for the benefit of DH and the team in general. You don’t respect LJ, he’ll get off, you respect LJ, DH will get off. It’s a pick your poison and BAL becomes damn near unbeatable.

Cam is 100% correct! I've always said Lamar needs to be Lamar. Damn the criticism, the desire to "conform" to characteristics that define what a QB should look like, and the need to fit those standards. Jim Mora told Michael Vic basically, "Just do what you do". I'm not suggesting that a QB be can't grow with coaching, but sometimes a player's true abilities are stifled by conformity.

@@thefrase7884it’s not something that can be perfected. If you got an open run lane AND a receiver who has leverage - only hindsight will reveal which was the better choice.
Receivers can drop passes or fall or run the wrong route, OL can miss a block etc and that retroactively looks like running was the better choice.

We all just want Lamar to win and i agree he needs to just take the plays that the defenses are giving him, but Lamar focusing on keeping his eyes down field this year is why hes leading most passing stats. The coaches and lamar are so hungry to explode and score but the whole team needs to realize the defensing is greatly improved and the Ravens DONT need to score 30 every game to win anymore like they did earlier in the season.

  • @adamshanks9156

Could we talk about John Harbaugh? I've been watching "Hard Knocks" featuring the AFC North, and in my opinion, Mike Tomlin's coaching skills stand out more than those of John Harbaugh. Tomlin possesses the mental mindset that we need when preparing for competition. Harbaugh comes across like a substitute teacher whom no one cares to listen to. It's a notable difference.
Mike Tomlin embodies the old-school lessons from the Ravens' early 2000s mentality. This is evident on camera. I’m looking forward to seeing how John Harbaugh coaching performs against the Giants, but what Tomlin is demonstrating is true coaching. He studies game tapes with his top players and coaches in preparation for the next game.

Y'all are not realizing that this is a team game. Y'all putting it all in Lamar Jackson. The kicker has a job and he's been missing kicks that add up to points that can win games. This isn't all in Lamar . That kicker has a job . They have to now go undefeated clear up to the Superbowl because of missed kicks and that's not going to be easy at all.

Look people the problem is obvious its been obvious. Why are people acting like it hasnt been an issue. Lamar Jackson has been asked to stay in the pocket since day 1. Its so crazy because every time the NFL gets a talent like this they want to create a narrative to change the position or criticize their ability. They said Mike Vick couldnt throw also. The NFL does not want anyone to come to this league and change the game. Lamar refused to change his position so the NFL will not allow him to get any A-1 receivers. They will let him have used to be big name washed up receivers but no one currently relavant. Lamar makes C level receivers look good. 2 years ago they forced him to stay in the pocket thinking he couldn't pull it off and make the right play but it turns out he looked the best at it. Now if he uses his feet more they'll say he needs to give Henry the ball. Lamar is gonna be forced to make a C level offense look A-1. In 2019 Tom Brady seen it and said Lamar Jackson is gonna be the greatest QB of All Time and the NFL and media did not want to share that. Brady seen what Lamar was doing with what he is working with and was blown away. If he starts running more the media is gonna complain and say give Henry the ball even tho Henry is not getting thru the holes like he was. Lamar cant win for losing and hes gonna get blamed for every loss. Its the biggest sabotage to a player career by the NFL and the media. Lamar will never have a Deandre Hopkins or Jamar Chase to throw the ball to and his offensive line will always be a problem. You want him to compete against these other QBs with limited weapons to throw to but you want him to stay in the pocket waiting for a play to materialize? This is crazy and always will be. Go ahead Lamar start running more. You're gonna get criticized regardless. Haters will be haters no matter what you do

Cam's "deficit" comment was perfect. However, your take on shame for running should be more directed towards Lamar himself. He seems to view his running ability as a "deficit". He's been trying too hard to prove he's a "pocket passer" which is all in his head. It's clear that he's making a conscious decision to try not to run. He's not playing as free as he once was and literally just stands in the pocket forever. We lost in the playoffs last year because he refused to run. He doesn't need designed runs. Read options/designed runs are where he risk injury because it's more congested. He simply needs to take off when necessary/lanes are there which will also make passing much easier. He has to play to win, not to prove he doesn't have to run. Josh Allen is playing like Lamar once did. Patrick has always been willing to run. I hope he returns to playing FREELY and being 1 of 1!

I have not missed a Lamar Jackson game since his junior year of high school. I have only cursed Lamar twice in his career. The first was the interception he threw against Auburn on the first play of the game his freshman year, and that was aimed more at Bobby Petrino than it was Lamar. The other was last year in the AFC championship game because I felt like he was trying to out Patrick Mahomes, Patrick Mahomes, instead of simply just being Lamar. He left so many yards on the field that day that he could have gotten with his legs. I’m not saying that he hasn’t done that at other times, but that team was the best team in the NFL by far last year and they gave it away to the Chiefs. I’m hoping that he has now realized that he can do it ALL and not care about having to prove to everyone that his arm is just as talented as everyone else at the top tier of qb’s in the NFL. He has to go back to forcing the Defense to spy him every single play which in turn will open up more mid level opportunities.

That's what I want to see more of .him running the ball.. don't know why they sham it . because that's what the fans want.he needs to worry about winning and not being great.at the end of the day it's about winning.if you running it all came I would not cear as long as you win.

Lamar needs to protect his body and pass less. His best ability is his availability.

As a true die hard ravens fan Cam absolutely right and i believe these weak ass coaches we have holding L back i think L needs to stick to his game and we missed that especially when we played the chiefs in that playoff championship game last year it was lanes L could have taken we could have won that L talent is unbeatable and these coaches holding him back bad his mother knows what lamar is capable of she knows what her son can do if lamar stick to what he knows nobody can touch that guy

I feel like I AM HAPPY Lamar is the best runner...
However what I, and many, fans are SO IMPRESSED BY is that HE IS THE GREATEST POCKET PASSER IN THE GAME ALSO...
LIKE HOWWWW, Lamar literally used to sail a few, get picked... like...
Sure Brady was amazing, BUT BRADY SAYS LAMAR IS THE BEST.
Like I LOVE the dual threat, but this dude is easily smartest QB in the pocket and I don't want him to get hurt 😅
Let Lamar run WHEN HE WANTS... but he absolutely is the best pocket passer >.>
As said, Eagles played cover 2.
Like I love Lamar being quick and amazing, but dude the guy DID THE RIGHT THING PROTECTING HIMSELF!!!!!
SURE HE HAD OPEN GRASS BUT... what if someone's just a DICKHEAD and wants a dirty hit!?
    TUCKER LEFT 7 OUT THERE.
LAMAR DID NOT FUCK UP WTF
    HE DID GR8

Lamar is a top 2 or 3 talent in this league but the question is how far can you go with an immense talent that just isn't that good throwing the ball.
