Speaking of regrets.. over the course of 5 years, I made a lot of unnecessary 6*s. Buuuut I'll still do it because I like to play around a bit. I know I won't be a guardian rta player or something like that.

I even know someone build almost any of *2-5. He is like collector, having fun playing with monsters. He may and never in high tier pvp, but enough to be c1 & in g1 guild.

Worst thing is when you get a new monster and suddenly that becomes the "new play toy" and you throw on the best remaining rune sets" which ends up being Focus, Endure, Tolerance...

I got Chandra and fire sea emperor at 5* but no runes for them. No point maxing them to 6* really.
Fire sea emperor is very good in toa, guild battle, arena, and also rep.

Watching this video made me realize that I need to farm more runes...
I'm really guilty of this. I'm more of a collector, I like progressing as much as I can in PVE but RTA doesn't interest me at all. I have about 100 6*s, lots of 5 stars that are partially skilled up because I don't feed anything if there is a element of it I haven't max skilled. I even have 5*s max skilled of each of the silver monsters in my storage... I only have a few runed teams and they are mediocre runes for the most part.

@@johnsims9907 I still build them but honestly they aren't necessary depending on the mons you pull. Example my alt pulled savannah and bastet. So for gb10 I actually got a faster team than the Loren Fran for early game and late once they are runes properly. If I tried to slot in Loren or Fran it would actually slow my team down a whole lot and make it inconsistent. On my main I also have things like teshar and arang at 6* with their team Loren and Fran slow the gb10 run again. They are great support but people tend to forget that they are support and thus slow you down.

Yea 40+ or 60+ six stars is needed for a lot of guilds. Your guild wouldn't let you be in it with a handful of 6*
Oh for siege purposes people would recruit 30 6stars well runed monsters
Wanting the members to have 30 good runed 6* units makes sense because of the siege battle but everything above that just doesnt make any sense.
Cool video! May I suggest you to make one on how to understand which runes are worth to keep and which one are good? I've been playing for an year now and I'm still confused about that.

Okay seriously from all the tutorials and tips&tricks, this video is the most helpful for beginner players. I did the mentioned mistake and have many 6stars and full 5stars which are barely runed. Thanks Sean for this video!
Thanks sean, I wish I got this advice in the beginning, wasted my time doing this in the beginning. Annnd no surprise I didn't progress much. I quit then came back fixed up my runes, now I finally can run necro, dragons, and raids no problem. I made 6 6 stars I needed in 3 weeks, still more progress then back then when I only farmed essences and 5 starred nat 4s.
6:40 aw jeez, that was me, very much. I would build to max 5* and rune and make no progress. Finally stripped all my mons after stupidly making an ALT. Oye! I got back just after the shift and with the B12 addition and am stuck needing to farm relics and artifacts when I had finally started climbing past 50 in toah. So freaking behind, at least I have fun watching Seanb!

The don't get attached to xp boosters is the best advice anyone has given me for summoners war in a long time. I've been trying to use everyone I get to the fullest and was making the materials for 3 6*s a week and felt like I couldn't spend the boosters fast enough.
You should do a video on what runes to keep / upgrade I'm tired of running out of rune space every other day
I needed this...guilty. lol and I haven't really 6* that many, just kinda burnt out on farming. Starting to think they named it hell for a reason...

I agree: my Triton and Vanessa are still crying in storage because I don't have excellent runes (to my standards) to give them. I hope at least to rune Triton someday... I know people who 6* monsters, give them some runes (quite crappy ones), and then switch them to others, one of the biggest mistakes average players do. And no, I don't mean FRR.
If you don't have any runes for a monster: DO NOT TOUCH IT until you get them. Don't worry, your house isn't gonna explode if you have some common sense for a change.
Starting a new account. Been 2 years since I have deleted the game. Watched your Daisy B series before downloading, seems so lit with all the rewards. Hopefully will be able to progress like you. Got 15 days vacation rn and mainly full days are free. Except gym and sometimes family guests. Will farm the hell out of this game! :DDD

This goes perfectly in tandem with bagels new video. Its like you're saying dont waste too much effort on things you dont need and then bagel steps in saying "if you really absolutely have to, it's more time efficient to do it this way". I just 6* units passively from rainbowmon drops.
A good example is I pulled a rica I dont have a use for so i just threw fight on her and now use her as R5 leader.

So the one side is that efficiency is important for progress, on the other hand you should enjoy the game and being emotionally attached to a nat5 for example, do it, 6 star them, use them. Probably not the most efficient way but the more fun way, with more fun there is more time you invest for efficient decisions ;)
Honestly if I was told this when I started Summoners War, I wouldn't have believed it. Now that i'm 150 6*s in, with only 50 of them runed well... I'm stuck back at trying to make a safe quick farmable GB10 team. I have the monsters to make most of the 30s speed teams, but I lack the runes to make it worth. Most of the time I have to manual it to get the 50s range...
@SeanB could you make a list of progression for beginners to make Gb10 farmable as fast as possible. Can only farm gb7 after 15 days and only lapis 6*

Good advice. It makes a lot of sense. I've been playing just a couple months and I have been trying to 6* everything and I have just ok runes. I try to max them all (lvl 15) but don't really have many grind stones or better 6* runes. Thanks for the tips!
Aside from farming, you can get 3* rainbowmon from craft system. You only need to sacrifice 3 nat3 monsters.

Fran, Loren, Raoq is such a fun team. Doesnt matter what level you use it in. I use it all the way to G3 GW. Farm your runes and stop worrying you need cool nat 5s.

This wouldn't be that big of a problem if rune rates weren't utter shit. Like literally I can spend 3hours even days running GB10, DB10, NB10 and I won't get a single crit dmg %, Atk % 6* rune. Nothing but 5*, Flat runes, Flat even slot runes, useless Resistance % and we all know the rest.

I really wish I'd seen this, oh, the week after I'd 6* Lapis. Her I needed to, but arguably there have been several I did not. And as far as the person who has a bunch of 5* max, *cough* guilty (full disclosure: I have 15 nat 5 including all 6 fusion mons, 13 6* - 6 of which are nat 5s, and 43 maxed 5*, all runed). You see, I came over from Pokemon and Pokemon spinoff games, and at first I thought this was more a monster collecting game than anything else. But this is a synergy of monsters-and-runes game, and it's far more complex.
I *am* going to 6* Bernard because I do use him in multiple contexts and it would improve my run reliability while I improve my rune quality. And yes, I don't have Fran, Loren, or Verde 6* (yet). Not because they're not Nat 5s, though. I was just recently able to make Megan non-squishy enough to replace Shannon in some contexts, and Fran is still too squishy rune-wise to replace Megan or Colleen. So I'm in the place where I need to have the farming team intact while improving the farming team. So my best candidate to improve my run stability and time is…Bernard.
I did derune a lot of monsters last FRR (which often leads to that hilarious arena and/or gw moment where you go out with an unruned monster), sold off about $2M worth of crap runes and was able to improve overall rune quality a lot.
Oh, and a tip: I notice a lot of people have a ton of low-level rainbowmon and unknown scrolls. I always level up and evolve my rainbowmon. Gets them into the right balances I happen to need.

I just 6 starred my dungeon teams, then my toa team then finally arena teams. 4 or 5 years later i 6 star random monsters because Everytime i log in once a month , i get like 20 rainbowmons and i run out of storage space

If you farmed all of those runes, you are INCREDIBLY LUCKY. I've played for 4 years, had a c1 acc and NEVER got those runes for farming in 4 years. Congratulation. You were luckier in some months than me in 4 years. That's the problem with this game: as long as you are lucky, you progress faster than any other people, but if you aren't there is no point in trying to progress, you will always be worse than other players

Yep. A good time grinding GB12 and I stacked 30+ max 3's. I finally pieced together my first DB12 team and found I wanted 6ing some mons (I'm a 6 year plus idle collector, But I'm LEARNING!) I need some more progress and that is only happening through grinding for runes and participating in guild(everything) but I suck. Again, learning, team comps and rune building 101. 😁 Not efficient. Getting there.
@SeanB what is your opinion between Light or Dark Homunculus for pve such as TOAH? Dark doing resets (I have a 6* Mav and Ganymede, I do not have a Jamire), and light does the whole max atb thing for the team. Idk. I clear TOAH 100 most rotations unless certain annoying bosses for me are higher up the ladder. My general team is Tyron (L) Water Homunculuc, Baretta, Ganymede, Fran. For boss stages I replace Water Homunculus and Baretta with Daphnis and Loren.
I keep telling newbie about your advice on six star they get pissy & didn't want to listen.They complaining about enemy vio proc but their rune itself is trash.

tip for anyone starting the game DON'T USE GEMS FOR ANYTHING EXCEPT ENERGY i wasted 200 gems on the gem giant it isn't worth it you could get more from just the arena

Yeah its good advice, personally I only have about 8 6* units and I'm farming giants and dragons all day, and can do Toa normal pretty easily, only been playing for a couple months. My guild leader has worse dungeon times than me, can't really do Toa, has over 30 6* monsters, been playing for over 1500 days, and yet none of his monsters even compare to mine cause his runes are trash all because he never farms, not even sure how many other 6*'s he has in box.
I regret deeply 6* my Wind Beast Rider (honestly I use my Lushen even more), while there're other more useful monsters sitting around 5* (Kahli / Raviti / Light ifrit / Lisa / Bulldozer/ Kro and many more...) But there's no turning back now. Just gotta 6* wisely.

I personally on progress to get 10/10 on g1 siege and I need so much different 6* monster and that make me to have to farm a lot in dungeons to put rune on them
So the think that me confused is do I have to to make more 6* or farm a lot to make my monster more better?
U have a specific aim for 6* which is different from what i said whereby many people make 6* for the sake of making it.
If u know what team u are building and you have runes for them then go ahead!

Atm i'm trying to make my Khmun 6* because he will really help me on dimensional hole (i don't wanna do more 2A's, so i'm trying to make a ancient runefarming team), and of course on guild content. Khmun is not gonna help me doing dungeons and raids, so it would be pointless to a beginner to 6* him just for the sake of it. If you really think some unit is going to help you on your goal, then definitely 6* it! Hope you can understand my English :)

eventually you will get so many 3* max rainbowmon from gb10 that you feed them too each other, put the resulting 4* lv1 rainbommon in the exp building to make 4* max effortlessly. Theres no need to invest any ressources at all into 6* Process.

From foxysw, you can estimate how much an account is really farming by seeing how many transmog monsters outside the packs buying source 🙂
Recently what I've been doing is getting a gb10 team that is ok with either 1 or 2 fodder slots that is safe just to farm runes n level fodder for 6*s. But I also dont 6* every toy when I can. Atm i have enough 5* rainbow mons to make 8 6*s but It would feel like a waste of time without a decent rune set for them.
Same thing goes for my devilmons as well. I'm sitting on 25 but I'm not runing up any new 5* mons atm so no reason to skill them up. I'm actually thinking about making 5* devil mons for a 6*+ skill up combo but idk how long thatd take.
I do 6 starting the same reason u said , and after 6 starring a certain unit for specific purposes, I accidentally fond additional purpose along the way 😃

What do you think about using the building xp multiplier? I put my rainbowmons in there and pop the building xp multiplier and im able to make more 3* and 4* max rainbowmons using it.
It think it depends on your stage and the guild u join in...
U will still need around 50-70 *6s to compete better in siege,,, for both def and atk.. n sometimes u need 2 identical units such 2lushens
I already in the point that I 6* most monsters because for 5 years the rune drops are really bad its getting frustrating.

im sorry to tell you but even tho i generally would agree, youre wrong. soon we will be able to use same runes for pve and rta, which means its worth it to use the strong runes on pve for farm but also build a few pvp units since they will be able to use the same quality runes.
So do you think wind boomerang and water/wind chakram twins can be 6 star for an early player who already can farm GB10 consistently ?

Hey SeanB with the new update on using runes for Pvp I’m sure a lot of people will want to request this..but would you do a video on my account and just use any of my runes to make pvp teams? I’ve got LD units like nephthys and most nat fives and four stars. Been playing three years so runes are decent and I’m in a G1 farming guild that I clear all content in fine.
I do the same but the problem is we need 60 3* to food on the 20 arcmon 3* for f2p people that take like 3 weeks

I six starred my ethena....regretted because at the time no runes but I wasnt doing arena and I wasnt even in a guild. My excuse was that she could be a second lushen. I pulled a second lushen that month.....hes still 5 stars now lmao
Granted this is an old video but not everyone does rta or guild content because they don't like it or aren't apart of a guild. Myself for example don't like rta and im not in a guild just like a lot of other players.
How did you get so much perfectly speed runes from farming? I farm 24/7 and I don’t get good runes like that and how did you get so many grinds.
