Key is actually a fashion director in SM, he has designed multiple SHINee concert looks, and in comeback season he works hand in hand with the stylist to get these results. He has also designed the packaging of his albums since bad love. This man is the definition of multitalent.
It doesn’t matter if you’re a BG stan, GG stan, 2nd gen loyalist or 4th gen new stan, Key demands respect the moment he walks in the room. Even if people aren’t “fans” of his, you can’t help but admire the artistry and the pure talent he pours into his work. I say this and I wouldn’t even call myself a Key stan, but each time I watch his videos I can’t help but just appreciate the art he puts out

Bad Love, Gasoline, and Killer are a trilogy of sorts. I saw translations where he mentioned that Killer was the end of the saga and one of the teasers for Killer had scenes from Bad Love and Gasoline. Concept genius for real tbh

Also Key has in my opinion the BEST all-english songs from a kpop artist!! (up there with LOONA's Star.) His English songs are: Imagine (off the first album FACE), Helium (off the Bad Love mini album) and Another Life (off Gasoline).

KEY is a lead dancer and lead rapper in SHINee so yeah.. he does it all. And his stage presence is amazing. Plus he can also act (he has done kdramas, movies and musicals!!) and host. Also he's a fashion director at SM at some point I don't remember exactly the period. He almost always has a say (along with stylists) on SHINee's and his solo outfits for MVs, stage performances, and concerts. He's also involved in the design for his solo album packaging sets. He also writes lyrics for songs btw!! I don't know how to end this because there are so many things this man can do 😅

When you said that Gasoline reminded you of INVU, you were absolutely correct! Sones (SNSD fans) and Shawols made a few posts about them being like moon and sun siblings or gods/goddesses -- specifically they both could totally be like the Greek twins, Artemis and Apollo. Taeyeon's INVU _is_ a direct reference to Artemis whereas Key's is more about him, but the gold outfit just makes you think of Apollo and he's the god of music soooo it checks out! Awesome video otherwise, I was really waiting for your reactions, esp to Gasoline and Killer!!!

I’m sure someone else knows better than I do, but Key typically styles himself, designing most of his own outfits. I’m not sure if that’s entirely the case here or what but he plays a huge role in that aspect of his career. It’s incredible.
I have a special place in my heart for I Wanna Be, it isn’t necessarily my favorite Kpop song, but every time I hear it, I think of the best year of high school because that year I made my own choreo to a song of my choice, which was this song 🤩

I love our sassy English-speaking King Key. Key is a fashion director/creative director in SM Entertainment. He even pieced together and designed a few big stages for Shinee for all members.
If you want to take time to look at some of his looks he's come up with for himself and his bandmates either just on your own or if you want to have something for Shinee content there are videos of compilations and such! (My favourite of his was SHINee World IV and Tokyo Dome from 2015. He designed iconic white marching-band-esque suits and each suit was unique to each member.)

I got into Key in 2021 when he released “Hate that” ft. Taeyeon and let me tell you one thing, THIS MAN CANNOT RELEASE BAD MUSIC!! Like whatever he puts out is soo good from the the title tracks to the bsides to the mv! LIKE HE IS INSANE !! Im so glad you’re getting into him little by little, I promise you that you won’t regret it 🥰
It might just be me, but Key always gives me David Bowie vibes. Just so full of presence and self assuredness. I get the feeling that he is unapologetically himself. I respect him so much as a person and an artist.

Didn’t see a lot of replies regarding this but Key designs his outfits and SHINee’s as well! He literally has a masters to qualify for it. He also designed the packaging for his 3 latest comebacks and it’s so good it caused fanwars bc people thought SM was biased towards Key and putting more effort in his album designs when it’s all Key’s brains and hard work 😌 but of course he didn’t do it alone, it’s also thanks to the stylists and designers who work well to execute his visions too! (Making sure everyone gets their credit where credit is due)
i love love love his use of backup dancers in gasoline bc it truly brings out the theming of the song. it's like a celebration the whole way through nd the dancers truly make it better. not that key wouldn't be good doing it w/o them but without them itd have a much diff feel

Soyou is Key's friend, she was a member of Sistar along with Hyolyn who you already reacted to. Whenever you have time and want to explore a new group I highly recommend Sistar, the absolute summer queens. I also feel like Hyolyn's solo music in general will be something you might enjoy.
Since you especially loved the ending of Bad Love you should totally watch Key's performance at 2021 SBS Gayo Daejeon! They change up the ending of the song and I am OBSESSED with it! It's sooo good! You won't regret it, literally it has to be what they play when you enter heaven 😂

"Who designs his stuff?" He does lol Key is a creative director at SM! He directs the styling for his stuff and for SHINee, plus his album designs (which are insane btw I really recommend taking a look at them) are also by him
My sassy, stylish, savage SHINee bias!!! He's such a talented king, and his music is VERY much my style. He is actually the first bias of mine where he stole my heart 100% because of his personality. Minho was all set to be my bias, because I knew him from his acting career before I knew SHINee (Onew too), but then I started watching SHINee compilations and that was it. The versatility and power his voice has...so impressive. Plus he is just a gorgeous and adorable, bitchy little bean! I have a thing for the bratty ones, it seems.
Key is just an embodiment of haute couture in both fashion and music, the class this guy has can't be bought or faked, he is unapologetically himself and that is what makes him great ❤❤❤
Key is the true spirit of Shinee....Jonghyun lives on through his soul & combined, they cannot be stopped. Gasoline is the perfect example...I can literally picture Jonghyun singing & dancing this right along with him. I'm so glad you did this marathon! Gasoline was easily in my top 5 albums last year (but definitely no. 1 for packaging - I bought the VCR version and it's one of the coolest albums I own). Even if you just do it on your own you should definitely listen to that album or the repackage with Killer

He loves 80’s music and movies. he said they are big influence on him, he is the creative director of his own solo stuff ( all shinee members are creative directors for their own solos), he wasn’t the sole creative director for his debut but he goes all out after that, there are videos he filmed working on his albums and the process of making the albums they are really great
Another thing yeah you got a lot things correctly, bad love & killer are connected, he explained that both songs and gasoline music videos are like part of a big storyline as a game of levels and each mv represents a level of the game, but as for the songs themselves bad love and killer are same storyline lyrics wise
BTW Lay released a new song today in his yt channel with his new group which he created under his company with the idea that they will collaborate with international producers. I liked the song so much, I thought you would love it too
