I agree with you on the dustiness but as far as the noise is concern, I think you it is individual birds and how it bonds with the family, for god sake please don't generalize Cockatoo has a noise bird and I have one when we are away it don't even scream we provide food, water and toys to keep them engaged, if you don't have time for any bird, please don't buy one, it is like your son and daughter Period.
