- This is what happened to me when I pirated Super Mario Galaxy for the Nintendo Wii system...

Wanna know the definition of taking a normal gaming song and making it disturbing? Cuphead has two...unique variations of its title screen music. The first is the song in reverse if you choose the bad ending, but the second is an assortment of in-game sounds arranged in such a creepy manner if you own a pirated version of the game!

Actually it all started with the Mario 64 Iceburg which led to a fake Mario 64 anti-piracy message which led to Mario Party DS anti piracy

The reason Switch games are sometimes expensive is because the cartridge itself is expensive to produce. And I guess they have to stick with the prices digitally so that no option is significantly better than the other one.

@@jador9641 Nintendo first party is something you can trust 99 out of 100 times. Their stinkers are RARE, which is why their games so effectively retain their value.
Game development can be expensive, especially when it comes to AAA games, which is why some titles are on the pricier side. It also doesn’t help that the Switch cartridges are custom made, which inevitably means that they will cost more to produce than putting a game on a regular SD card.

Because at the end of the day it's not emulation that's illegal, it's the pirated software and illegally obtained without proper licensing or leasing. Every game is emulation and legally licensed, pirated software isn't. Emulations aren't illegal.

This was legitimately chilling to experience. The atmosphere was especially nailed with the music. I don't think I'll be able to hear that song the same way again, and I really really liked that song. Incredible work with this!

@@wut939 Yeah, pretty late into the game, you gain access to the Gate (aka the intro stage) where after talking to Rosalina and how protecting the Lumas has been her goal for a long time now, we see a Red Luma tell Mario that if he wants its trust, then to use the Red Star to collect 100 Purple Coins scattered throughout the planetoid. Do this, and you'll collect a Red Power Star (my personal favorite color of all the Power Stars btw) and then you'll gain access to the Red Star in the Galaxy Observatory at any time...which is SO LAME! Not only is it the best flying power-up in any 3D Mario game for its epic music and sublime controls, but inagine its potential if you could use it in other missions!
I like how Nintendo just scares people into not pirating games.
Especially in Odyssey.

0:00 The intro music was removed.
0:12 Different music plays, and the Start Game button’s text has beeen changed to “0, 255, 255” which is light blue in RGB.
0:20 The festival cutscene had been skipped to the rabbit cutscene. This cutscene is at a different position and the text has been changed. Instead of “forcing” you to play hide and seek with the rabbit, Luma (aka the rabbit) just tells you “Piracy is wrong” and bids you farewell.
1:07 The space background has been changed. The spawn position is still at the same planet you play hide and seek with the rabbits.
1:23 The rabbit next to the star cannot be talked to, and the star’s color has been changed from yellow to red. The “You got a Star” text has also been changed to “You...”
1:43 The spaceship hasn’t been powered up yet, and the space background has been changed to dark. The text that shows after you get a star has been changed to “You’ve made a mistake...”, “Piracy is a serious crime...”, and “Report the stolen software immediately.” The spawn position is in a black hole from this point on.
1:55 The “You’ve increased your Star bit count” text has been changed to “Well then...”
2:00 The “Would you like to save your progress so far” text was changed to “Did you purchase this game”. The “Yes” option has also been changed to “Maybe...”
2:07 Instead of the spaceship music playing, it is completely silent.
2:23 The text for talking to Rosalina and Giorno was changed. Rosalina now says “You LIED to us... Criminals don’t earn Power Stars in this game”, and Giorno now says “The Power Stars are not yours. We Lumas don’t like criminals...”
2:48 There is a Launch Star that leads to a black hole. Since the spawn position is now in the black hole, it creates a infinite death loop.
3:22 The “Save the game and quit?” text has been changed to “Return the stolen software now.” The text for both options have been changed to “Ok”
3:30 The “Quit without saving” text has been changed to “Goodbye.” The “Back” option text has been changed to “33a3900c”, and the “Yes” option text has been changed to “8374ca3333”.
3:34 A glitch effect has been edited in by SPG64.
3:36 The title screen and the script for pressing A to start the game has been removed and a reversed version of the Luma theme now plays in the background.
3:50 Even after the game reset, the title screen didn’t appear and the reversed Luma theme still plays in the background. The only difference is that there is now text that says “There is nothing you can do...”
I rate this anti-piracy measure 8/10, because it is very convincing, even though it is fake, or should I say, a MOD that SPG64 had added in the game. The only thing that should be removed is the glitch effect at 3:34. This glitch effect can make this anti-piracy measure less realistic.
But once again, this anti-piracy measure is excellent. I wish for @SPG64 to pin this so others could read this explanation. To SPG64, this anti-piracy measure is great, and you should make more, but for different games.

What can I say? I scare easily and everything in this video gave off an eery sense of self awareness. The game knows what you did and has decided to punish you for it in possibly one of the most terrifying ways (At least in the game that is. Come on, I can't be the only one that had nightmares after seeing the black hole death as a kid.) All in all, great video, and I have a few people in mind that I will be sharing this with, because apparently, when applied to something as light hearted as Mario, the fear tactic is surprisingly affective!
