Hi Doctor. I wanna say bravo 👏 The way you was so down om your previous video, it was like something wasn't right. Now that i see the energy i know u always have when you greet us, im sure u ok
Dual purpose birds are de best coz u cn start small ad stil make profit bt with layers u nid to begin with big numbers of chicken gt some reasonable profit
It depends on which type of dual purpose birds you are keeping. I personally, Im rising i'm keeping Sasso chickens and they are really doing me well. I get nice eggs from them and also hatch day old chicks from them and they really doing well. Dual purpose chickens should not be raised entirely in the house like commercial layers, that can be really expensive b'se they really consum a lot of feeds. You should also let them to feed on pasture on the outside.
Dr a layer will give you 330eggs that means 11 trays ayear and tray is at 10000 which means you will get 110000 while a duo chicken if it gives you 240 eggs ayear those are eight trays and atray is at 20k meaning you will get 160000 ayear more so with layers you wil continue buying one day chicks but duo you wil make your own
Hey Dr, "most times" ,a tray of layers at the farm is always at 10,000sh , 11,000sh if it goes beyond it doesn't exceed 12000sh yet 1 egg for kuloirers goes at 1000ugx let's have some calculations here for instance let's say an egg for commercial layers goes at 400sh x30 eggs per tray =12000sh then 30x1000sh for kuloirers =30000sh okay let's say a tray for kuloirers goes at 20,000sh remember that the eggs can be hatched into a one day old chick which is not common to many local farmers apart from the people like you who hatch them into one day old chicks tho still may end up having 20% cocks ,people badly look for local and kuloirer eggs to hatch them into one day old Chicks ,still on feeds a kuloirer can survive on anything and still lay tho they can as well reduce in the egg production but when it comes to layers it's worse the moment you change feeds the consequences may be devastating , still on the issue of eggs you said dual purpose Birds lay say 180 eggs throughout the year then layers 340 throughout the year still let's have some calculations 340 eggsx400sh farm price =136000sh then for dual purpose birds 180 eggsx1000sh egg a year =180,000sh , so to me I think dual purpose birds have a good profit margin compared to layers moreso when it comes to diseases they are a bit resistant compared to layers I have an hatchery place where I went in August my dear a tray for dual purpose eggs was at 35000sh may be coz people were buying chicks for festive season like Xmas and others
It depends on yr location some areas people prefer low prices,so layer will get more market compared to dual purpose.you have to target the market also depending on yr location.you rather chose layers where you rise in great number knowing that the market is there than rising dual purpose in small number because of market strategies.
@@buyondocharles Mostly it's luck of knowledge or information about poultry, you find someone starting afarm without making research just because he/she can afford.what makes fall of farms is diseases which leads to death of birds and low production hance reducing profits or no more profits.you end up closing the farm.
Layers are not bred locally, the duo purpose birds can be bred easly, they can survive on low quality feeds, are resistant to diseases and have a longer life span compared to the layers. The duo purpose birds can grow bigger in size after laying numerous eggs and sold at a good price than layers that are usually small.
Hi Doc. Daniel I been watching your video for some times. My question is this. Do you breed chicks yourself or you buy and raise them? Thank you I’m fechimonla Ajoke.
