@@Sharp-E Yeah, generally if your controller was the one that disconnected, you have to forfeit a stock. Even worse, in the Supernova ruleset this year, it specified that controller disconnects force a forfeit of TWO stocks, meaning Raru would've instantly lost that game.
I remember seeing some people on Twitter clowning on LumiRank for placing Raru up at 11th. I would say they've probably changed their tune but honestly they probably haven't because they're stubborn LOL
Growing more and more respect for Sonix with his amazing sportmanship. In top 8 of the most stacked tournament this year, he lets his opponent's controler issue slide and they play like nothing happened. I won't say names but not everyone would have been as fairplay as him. Truly amazing
I’m an American smash ultimate viewer and idk if you can translate this but I’m wondering why a lot of Japanese players have worn masks in attendance to tournaments in the past
Probably a result of Sonix not getting hit with the combo moves as much as MKLeo. I feel like Raru could very easily run a game out of control if given the chance. Sonix just didn't give that chance very much.
Can't stand watching Sonix play this game, I think the runaway meta that he plays is killing the game. But mad respect for not making a big deal about the controller disconnect. Especially when he was in advantage at the time. Love to see it.
Sonix is never THAT conservative against top players, yet yall make it seem like Sonix is RUNNING AWAY from his opponents rather than RUNNING TOWARDS them for the duration of the game when it's the other way around. I'm convinced yall just hate the fact that he plays Sonic rather than hating the way he USES Sonic, and I KNOW this because Sonix can be actively playing aggro and pressing a fuck ton of different buttons but you'll find a way to convince yourself he's running away to the opposite side of the stage and spindashing.
@@ojo4949 exactly. he only camps when he thinks he needs to to win the game, hence why he camped a lot vs miya and acola. this is a 15 minute set and people are saying sonix camped the whole game WATCH THE FUCKING VIDEO Sonix is not even that campy anymore because sonic's aggression and advantage is very strong and he's the only player whos showing it off at it's fullest. The other sonics dont do this and still are heavily defensive, which is why they aren't as good. he's incredible
@Keshav-il2hp he doesn't camp against Steve/Acola at all unless it's under a minute already because Acola spent 6 minutes hiding behind blocks. The 6 games he won against Acola before this tournament were all quick 2 stocks
