The one and only time I saw them live was in Vancouver around 1987 at the Savoy. They played about 45 minutes and blew up the amps and had to stop. Great gig, what a great way to end it. Blow it up. Every single album is fantastic and keeps sounding better each year. For anyone who wants to know how garage, do-it-yourself, eclectic the '80's underground could get - these guys are it. There were many others (Meat Puppets, Pere Ubu etc...) but Campers were right at the top with them.
These guys RIP!!! They don’t get nearly enough credit for being early founders of the “jam” and “festival” scenes...I love their songs, lyrically unique, humorous at times and deep at others...musically they play a very inspired set here, just loose enough to rock but still tight enough to groove & dance. Music for loners, stoners, and disenfranchised people of all walks!
Last time I got to see THIS line up was when they opened for Mojo!!! TOTAL awesomeness!!!! And something about a good bootleg.... something is bound to go wrong, or your buddy tapes over a part of Interstellar Overdrive the night of/after the gig... Thanks Ben!!!
What a group, maybe overlooked. I’m remembering all of these songs. Cult band. Freaking nifty everything. I was the kid in Charlottesville who found his way to a speaker stack and stayed there mystified.
Got to CVB in the UK in Nottingham at the Old Vic. 23rd June 1988. Fantastic show.

Awesome channel, really loved it!
can't see him over the glare but that sounds like Patten Oswalt doing the intro!
That is a Patton Oswalt bit -- it certainly is.
National Treasure
Didn't Patton Oswalt open?
Damn skippy good!
When did these guys lose their fashion senses? 90? 93?
And track 20 is Cattle (reversed)
Track 6 is actually Balalaika Gap.
