    I've got a few videos of my Hardbody on my channel. Uncle bought it new in '95 who passed in '12 and gave it to my grandfather who passed in '21 and gave it to me. Love that truck.

    Great video. My step dad has a 1990 D21 that he bought brand new 32 years ago. It’s been sitting in their car port for about 7 years now. I plan to get it back on the road after watching your video!

      That 90 model has a different engine, much easier to work on too.

    This is just like my Dad’s. His was an 89 King Cab with the “Euro lights” (non-sealed beams). I learned a lot about cars with that truck. He then traded it in while I was at college and didn’t let me say goodbye 😢. 😊

    Hi I have a 86.5 with Z24i that had sat since 94 I posted a vid. Spent the last year making it my daily driver. These trucks are very tuff and a lot of fun to work on. Parts are easy to find but they will send you the wrong stuff half the time do not trust napa computer. My oil pan had two timing guide sets chewed up in there so check that too. If you hear chain rubbing more than for just a second on start up you will need to replace timing guides.What oil's and lube to run is pretty contraversial but you will need something that works with yellow metals.Dont buy the chilton it sucks get the factory repair manual. Good luck if I can help ask but im far from being the experts you will find on forums.

    @10:04 - That timing chain is beefy. They make that to actually last?

      Back in the day, they sure did

      @@OpenRoader Think that one was fully assembled in Japan and shipped to US? I had an '85 Toyota that was...that was the best put together machine I've had. Sadly, someone pulled out in front of me on my weekly 2 mile trip to the dump and totaled it :(

      @@weekendhomeprojects This Nissan IS built in Japan and we were commenting on the quality of the body panel gaps and fitment. This thing is really put together nice. I had a really sweet 86 Toyota 4x4 Xtra Cab, automatic/22R with AC. Wonderful truck. Sold it in a pinch, regret it ever since. Best truck I ever had

    That's a great little project truck.
    They really don't make small trucks like this anymore. So many "small" trucks are the size of full sized trucks from that era

    • @OpenRoader
      @OpenRoader  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      It's true. Even your Maverick is the size of the "midsized" Dakota of that era. Thanks for watching
