I just ordered one. I`m collecting extra portable radios to hand out to neighbors in case of disasters like hurricanes or worse. I have multiple ways to charge batteries with solar as well.
16:41 it is quite possible to hear the ham bands on this shortwave, or any other, if A BFO IS BUILT or A SIGNAL GENERATOR at those frequencies, or having 2 shortwave radios alongside each other, both tuned in to the same frequencies. Have the volume turned down on 1 shortwave radio and tune that radio ever so slightly until a strong signal comes though that overrides the “duck talk”. It should become intelligible at this point!!! Hope this helps everyone and remember… BFO’s only work on some frequencies.
picked one up this morning on amazon with a deal for about 12 bucks shipped. works pretty well , sound quality not too bad with dsp but tuning is a little touchy with the up down knob. would prefer a rotary type but i won't complain for the price!. haven't tried the mp3 function yet.
It's pretty good. I've got tons of FM stations here in a big city so I can't say what it would be in more rural areas. Keep in mind it's a very inexpensive radio. Cheers.
@@GadgetTalk4U thanks for the response, i have Retekess v-115, here it performs good, but not very good. If you don't mind can you say Will this be better than that? Which has best reception on FM ?
I just go to auto parts shop. buy gator clips by the box. And cut wire for what works best in your neighborhood. Ps a deluxe treatment. Is heat shrink tubing. form loop a end . (small loop through shrink tube to use as a hook.) Then to the other end at the clip END. slide shrink tubing over wire/clip. To get a real professional look .ps I got a V.F.O. STAND ALONE . AND HAVE SSB.. have 3 d-219s that work well on wire. Tks
I have one of these, and I'm very happy with the performance. There are two negatives in low light, though. (1) The markings molded into the black plastic are hard to read. (2) The blue LED, on when playing an MP3, is bright and blinks annoyingly.
I listen to news.. then a chip gives music..then language classes.. its stingy on power use though use if cell phone batt and i baught a kit with 2 batterys and charger. Good use of my money tks
PleSe feature radios that are not made in China . I am sure you can appreciate the reason for requesting you to do so. One reason of course being the inferior quality of Chinese products and the other I don't think I need to mention here.
Very pleasant to watch with your gentle, relaxed and dignified old-school manner. Thanks for the review of the D-328!
Thanks for the kind words. Cheers.

Hello, how's the FM reception of this?

@@chandrapiyaseeli5453 I honestly have no idea. I'd hate to mislead you. Sorry.
What type antenna did you clip on? A wire with a alligator clip?
That's about all you need for receive.
Yes I was curious too. Would be interesting to see that. A long wire with alligator clip will do fine, that is what i do.

From where I can purchase
I believe I have a product link in the description to Amazon. Not sure where yo I are located, but Amazon has them.
How can they make a profit from this especially as it has a rechargeable battery
I gave up cost accounting a long time ago -- especially on these little electronic products.

There are great receivers made in China and bad ones. Consider the fact that a radio similar to this cost over a week`s pay in the 1960s.
That would be almost impossible now. I can't tell you of any American made radios anymore. I do understand the sentiment but we've sold our souls.
Chainij not vilivd
Analog-feel but digital radio... Ecs, thanks but no thanks
Very nice
