    I've been mystified by this for about 45 years. This is the first time in my life I've ever heard/watched catchers signals explained. Thank you.

    My wife and I found this to be well done, really well done. We loved it and learned a lot.

    Thanks for the ideas Coach! We do something similar with the signs but keep it more simplified for our kids since they're still young and sometimes confuse themselves easily. Something we have is a sign for the pitcher to check a runner if they're not paying attention or to cocky with a big lead off of a base. When they see another sign it's an immediate throw to the base indicated by the catcher and we even have code words from certain position players if needed too.

    Enjoy your videos. In college, the catcher would give us a series of five signs. You add up the first three for pitch type (6 change, 7 breaking ball, 8 fastball), the fourth sign was location (1 inside off plate through 4 outside off plate), and the fifth sign was a dummy

      Not sure if I'm an A's fan this year. Liked them last year. I think I'm going Blue Jays this season! Who's your team?

    • @YouGoPro
      @YouGoPro  9 ปีที่แล้ว

      I'm just saying...he's a beast! Actually, he and I played at Auburn together, Stevie Delabar was my roommate, and Greg Burke is a dear friend of mine. All with the Blue Jays this year so it's kind of hard to root against them. Plus they got Bautista!

      @alexmarch5197 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      YouGoPro ya I know I'm actually a blue jays fan because I'm from canada....josh donaldson is my favorite player and I knew you played with him so I figured you would be rooting for him...was he a catcher at auburn

    One thing was missing, the acceptance of the sign by the pitcher. Otherwise, very cool.

    I used an auto shake off sign. I would just put down my fist. Put those down a few time per inning and it would really mess with the batter. 2-0 3-0 2-1 3-1 whatever was a good time for a fastball for sure. Then first pitch and I’d love to throw a first pitch slider with some of the better hitters. Or just like 5-7 straight so the batter has no idea. The throw a heater down the middle.

    What would happen if no communication of pitches was done? Just have the pitcher throw without any signals being done. How about that?

    catchers shouldn't have to worry about hitters stealing signs. If a hitter steals a sign, knock his helmet off and he won't do it again.

    The bottom line is sign stealing is part of the game! Just don't use cameras and trash cans and binoculars ..that is absolutely silly.

    Why don't you just throw what you want ?
