Kirk and Spock, dressed in 20th century contemporary clothing, follow interstellar agent Seven to an office, but he enters a giant walk-in safe and dematerializes (Assignment: Earth)
Rough stuff with Kirk. Met Mr. Shatner when he gave his space poetry here in San Juan Capistrano recently. Standing ovation given to him. Met Miss Nichelle Nichols in Palm Springs when I was a pre-teenage professional magician introduced to her by my mentor Peter (everyone knew I was a nut for Star Trek) and my half-brother Scott whose best friend was the late Mr. Nimoy's son Adam. Unique series. Not sure what to say about it all these years later. We owe it so many things more than a half century later. Serious stuff there by Mr. Roddenberry and his many famous science fiction authors of the series and the editors. Severe stuff. We won't see its like again I bet.
And you will note that the computer voice there in this episode here, Assignment Earth, is actress Barbra Babcock who was on other episodes of the Original Star Trek series, twice in the first season, and twice in the third season. Love the Original Star Trek series, best Star Trek out there. Much better tv show than that silly, stupid, cheesy next generation stuff, that's for sure. The Original Star Trek series RULES MAN!
That Gary Seven guy is super coooool and gorgeous with it ... he would've made an excellent James Bond! Spock should have given the neck pinch to that annoying Roberta!
Just noticed something odd at 1:53. That Saturn V rocket is awfully close to that food truck stand. The blast radius of a Saturn V rocket at launch is incredibly huge.
@@SoundJudgment Yea, I guess you're right. I never looked at it that way. I'll take a Chilly Dog to go. Followed by.... One waitress, nothing on, ready to to.
Fine I'll give it away because you can't seem to listen. Captain's log. We are now in extended orbit around Earth, using our ship's deflector shields to remain unobserved. Our mission - historical research. We are monitoring Earth communications to find out how our planet survived desperate problems in the year 1968." GET IT NOW LAZY BONES?
Talk about inconsistencies! They are trying to keep a low profile right? It would look more like a breaking and entering with a broken/kicked in door than a door with a laser shot through it.
an enomoly, a super powerful entity, a slingshot around the sun, take you pick all of them end up with the enterprise back in time. star trek has never been about the how, it gives passable explinations so that you can get back to the journey.
A passing foot note is how they got there. You asked "HOW THE ENTERPRISE GOT BACK IN TIME?" Well that foot note tells you how. It does not matter if it was easy or not it, that is totally un important to the story. What matters is that they got there by using that quick mentioned foot note. So stop betting a dead horse and just enjoy the episode!
Spock didn't find it pleasurable when he had to hold Roberta while Kirk looked into Gary Seven's office to take him back to the Enterprise, though he missed Seven by a few seconds before he transported himself to Florida.
@@snowlothar45 The phone is 3 century old outdated technology. I doubt Kirk has one in his cabin, or ever had to call Star Fleet long distance using a push button telephone… How could he know pushing down on the hook would end the call?
Heyheyheyheyhey! It's Kirk, not Jerk. You've got it all wrong, girl. What do you think you are acting in? The pilot of a TV series that isn't Star Trek? LOL BTW, girl, Spock is a Vulcan, and you should consider youself lucky that he has his hands on you.
I love Spock's reaction to the girl taking his hat off. She turns around and he is just like: O.O
"Oooooh shit ...."
Although of course Vulcans don't swear ...
Whoa, this is like Doctor Who crossed with James Bond crossed with Thunderbirds.
Love the effect they used for Gary Sevens transporter....so simple, yet so effective.

"WHAT ARE YOU?!" - priceless
That made me laugh out loud
Sorry for 14 years late reply, you still around? 😅
This Was One Of The Best " Treks "
That Gary Seven guy is super coooool and gorgeous with it ... he would've made an excellent James Bond! Spock should have given the neck pinch to that annoying Roberta!
Too bad agent seven didn't turn out to be a new TV series I think it would have been very interesting for even Star Trek fans
I totally agree!
I kept waiting for it to show up for years. Would have been a great show, especially if they kept Teri Garr.
Yes, but I’d have watched it only if Teri Garr also starred! i’ve been a fan of hers since this aired.
Did they not try?
@@overlordp.3758 Nope
I wish the spinoff with Gary Seven happened. It would have been fun to watch.
Teri Garr was so beautiful!
Spock looks like he is auditioning either for the Mama's & The Papa's or for The Monkees TV show as a replacement for Mike Nesmith.

this is one of my favorite episodes
Gary steps up to the NASA roach coach.
"I'll have a small Tang and a tuna sandwich."
This was a great episode!
Teri Garr! :)
Even in civilian clothes, I still see a Captain and his First Officer.
Wasn't that Joan Collins line in "The City On The Edge Of Forever" ?
Just noticed something odd at 1:53. That Saturn V rocket is awfully close to that food truck stand. The blast radius of a Saturn V rocket at launch is incredibly huge.
How do you think they cook them burgers?
@blagger56 This is "Assignment: Earth," from the second season of TOS.
Chronologically, this is the very first episode of Trek.
Dallas Kinard: TY, good point
Actually,it was "The City On The Edge Of Forever" ,since they traveled back to 1930.
@@lisapage1327 Even further back… “All our Yesterdays.” Spock & McCoy travel back to the ice age, long before recorded history.

Great episode and cool cast!😄🤟
I never noticed her flipping spocks hat off before
I LOVE star trek.
Original Star Trek series, AGREED! Best Star Trek Series out there, NONE BETTER!
Miss Garr and Mr. Lansing had a GREAT SERIES here but it was not taken up. Sad!!!!
1:19 The same fog effect seen at the end Of Picard S2E4
Spock looks like KGB spy 😂
Roll, roll, roll in za hay!
Easy one! Terri Garr
She was also in CE3K another fav of mine.
I like the hidden wall concept Edison stuff
1:50 Really?
A lunch truck or anyone else that close to a rocket that is about to launch in just one hour?
Hey! People have to eat!!

Terri Garr is 21 years old in this episode...
What became of her?
I named my cat Isis in honor of this episode and because of the fact that she is always getting underfoot. :)
Captain Kirk meets Derek Flint. The actor playing Gary 7 resembles James Coburn, I wonder if that was intentional.
I noticed that too.
His name is Robert Lansing. He played General Frank Savage on the television adaptation of 12 O'clock High.
Love Teri Garr.
Beamed into a liquid hydrogen storage facility - NO THANKS!!!
It's how he stays so cool, man.
Not seen this episode yet, but it looks like it's a good one! Spock and that stupid hat!!! XD
Is it Michael Nesmith's fault? No, that was later. 😁
Gary Seven's employee would've fainted after seeing Spock's pointy ears following her remove his hat while trying to get out of his grip on her.
Nobody gives a second look to a man holding a cat at a rocket launch facility?
Spock looks like a 1980s Soviet leader.
Basement cat!

He had the cat with him. Wouldn't that have raised some eyebrows?
It did. How many base personnel bring their pets to work with them?
Spock look like a member of the KGB - Suss or what lol
Poor spock, having to hide his ears from hot chicks, mildly hot whale chicks, and nazis
No! You have to watch the show.
No immediate Vulcan nerve pinch?
What gives?
Was that Teri Garr, early in her career? Whatever happened to her? I loved her in an 80s film called Firstborn.
That was teri garr first episode acting job

BUZZ WRONG! You must learn to listen to the Captains logs at the beginning of the episodes BEFORE the credits.
How hot was Terri Garr!
So sad Kirk is called a jerk by beauty.
Which episode and series is this, I don't remember seeing this one back in the sixties.
Second season episode of Star Trek, Assignment Earth.
wow that was a dreadfully cheap photo displayed as the Saturn V. You could even seem the dust and blemishes on it.

What is it with villains and cats?...
