    Lord- the video has only been out an hour and the spice rack is already rattling.. I’m not a groomer, nor will I ever be. However, something I am is someone who pays attention to small details. Again, did we watch the same video? Did you not see how the clippers were struggling to get through the dog’s coat? If the dog weren’t matted, the coat would have been sheared off in one long clean strip. Especially in the dogs chest, feet, and hip area, you can clearly see and hear the clippers struggling to hold it together.. Now, this could be attributed to the clippers themselves, the density of the coat, or both. Additionally, as the dog’s mats were coming off, did you notice how much easier of a time the clippers had when they were closer to the skin? That’s because the hair is shorter, smoother, and significantly cleaner. There have been several past instances where she’s shaved a dog and the clippers have gone straight through without issue. With that said, please practice deductive reasoning before commenting accordingly 🐸☕️

    Well, today is the day I choose to show just how ignorant an intelligent person can be. First of all, let me say that Brittany, you did a very nice groom on John Luke! He probably feels as great as he looks. He reminded me of my Toy Poodle, Mia, whom I adopted in 2011 & took back to the shelter in 2013. I grew up having different dog breeds, but they were kept outside in our back yard with a dog house for shelter. I don't remember my father ever brushing or combing any of our dogs. He probably took them to a shop or vet to be groomed. My mother never did it as she was terrified of dogs, having been bitten by a GSD as a little girl. Anyway, fast forward back to Mia. She was a White Toy Poodle. I have always lived in apts as an adult & my dogs lived indoors. Mia needed to go in every 6-8 weeks to be groomed & over time my expenses grew & because I loved her, I felt it best to take her back to the shelter I adopted her from. I cried so much that day & I grieved losing her this way because I just didn't have enough money to continue to take care of both of us. I made this decision in Autumn, 2012. I kept her through all the holidays & took her back to the shelter on January 5, 2013. I took all of her papers from Vet visits, heartworm preventative, toys, blanket, everything except a few pictures went with her to the shelter. They were shocked that I had so many papers, including papers They gave me when I adopted her. They called me a few hours later to say she had been adopted & the people that adopted her appreciated everything that came with her, especially the records & several pictures.
    Now, I will show my ignorance: No one ever told me regarding my first dog, a Shih Tzu named Christa that I got at 9 weeks old & lived for 2 years [Shih Tzus are my favorite dogs] or regarding Mia that I should be brushing & combing their coats on a regular basis. I would bathe Christa & let her air dry, which resulted in a coat full of beautiful curls that ultimately became mats. Her groomers never questioned me about how often I combed or brushed her at home. I just took her to be groomed whenever they said to bring her in as I could afford it at the time. When Mia was found by the shelter, she was described as "One Big Mat." When I brought her home, she had some behaviors that led me to think she had been thru some form of trauma. She only got washed when she went to be groomed. I never washed her at home. She did not like to be held very much. Once when I tried to clip hair growing underneath her tail, she bit my hand & I never tried that again. Long story short: the first time I learned about how to properly take care of a dog's coat was when I discovered Suzanne Grande, NCDG, on TH-cam. I had never had a cellphone before. I discovered TH-cam & a wonderful Groomer who specializes in Small Dogs. I saw entire grooms including combing & brushing a dog's coat. Yes, I was that ignorant. No one ever mentioned it & it took me watching Suzanne & her saying the instructions she gave the Pet Parents before I knew anything about regular combing & brushing & how to prevent matting. Unbelievable someone reading this is thinking, but it is so very true. I don't think I will be getting a 3rd dog, but thanks to Suzanne, I know how to take proper care of a dog's coat. Of course, it can vary from one dog to another, but using an actual dryer to apply air to the coat & combing & brushing the dog is part of properly taking care of a dog. How could I be so ignorant? I don't know; I just know it was my truth & none of the groomers for my dogs ever questioned me about how I took care of my dogs' coats at home or said to be sure to comb or brush between grooms, so it was never done. So, I love watching dogs being groomed & I love it when the owners are given instructions about regular brushing & combing of the hair. And Brittany, you are a fantastic groomer & you talk about matting & combing & brushing all the time & we see what happens when it is done & when it isn't done. Thank you for being so upfront & transparent about how dogs should be cared for. There may be other people watching that may be just as clueless as I was, so just keep saying what you always say. Thank you so much!⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 41:16

    How are people saying this dog isn’t that matted 😂 I’m literally 1:30 into the video and that dog is super matted. Y’all think shaving a dog should look like you’re shearing a sheep? Ive got news for you, it shouldn’t 🙈

    It's the hair removal process from the bilateral ears that gets me. That has to hurt!!!! Much to rough.... I've seen other groomers on here get the same results and it can be done without being so rough just use tweezers no pain same result 👍👍👍👍👍

    • @TheLuvOfDogs
      @TheLuvOfDogs  4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Tweezers are actually more painful. With tweezers you’re ripping out one clump at a time. Look at how he reacted to the tweezers as opposed to me plucking with my fingers. Two completely different reactions. With tweezers he flinches and whines. Not the same reaction as taking it out little by little. You gotta look at body language instead of what the groomer is doing. I dislike tweezers because they are more painful. They also cause more irritation. These are things I learned over the years of grooming dogs. Also, when you put the ear powder it lessons the pain of hair removal. Not sure who stated tweezers are less painful because they are not. It’s the exact opposite. Think about it, you have to twirl the hair with tweezers and then pull it out. That also twirls the ear canal. Yeah, idk who taught that but it’s absolutely incorrect. Just because other groomers do it doesn’t mean it’s not painful. It’s just faster. But it’s MUCH more painful 👍🏾👍🏾

      @TheLuvOfDogs K9 clipz is the videos I've been watching of late she never hurts the animals even with hair removal from the ears she uses tweezers and the dogs never flinch. Just a suggestion otherwise you do a great job with grooming....if you tried that you would a
      really be 💯

      @@kellydunn4344 I did tweezers in this video and he didn’t like it, even whimpered in pain. I promise you, tweezers are much worse than just plucking it with your fingers. Groomers use tweezers/hemostats because you can get it all in one shot but it is more painful. I prefer to take my time and cause less pain. Thank you for your kind words 🙏🏾🙂

    Thanks for sharing. This dog looks like the owners take the time to give him a bath, him but never bother to brush him. I groomed for 30 years and nothing changes, matted dogs all the time. Sorry that you too have to deal with other peoples neglected messes. Why would someone (breeder) take the time to dock a puppy's tail but not remove the dewclaws, both should be done. Thanks for sharing, looking forward to the next video.

    Remember, this is not personal. Everyone is entitled to their individual opinions. When we can appreciate one another personal point of view; We can learn something valuable from each opinion, and the result can be personal growth ✝️

    • @TheLuvOfDogs
      @TheLuvOfDogs  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Oh I didn’t take it personally. I just know with the way I struggled to get that 7 blade through the coat a 5 blade wouldn’t go through it because it’s longer. Look wise, there isn’t much difference from a 5 to a 7. The major difference is whether or not a thicker blade like a 5 will go through matting. When I look at a dog and do my examination, I know what blade will go through just by feeling the coat. Always remember looks can be very deceiving, so what looks not that bad to you, despite the struggle of the 7 blade, feels different to the groomer who already did a hands on pet assessment. Nothing personal, just explaining I know what blade will and will not work. Now when you make a statement like, “you didn’t even try” is, in fact, a personal statement to me as a groomer tho I didn’t take it personally. A new groomer who is insecure about grooming and not sure what they’re doing may take something like that personal but because I’ve been grooming for awhile I understand, everyone, as you stated, is entitled to their own opinion. I understand even as a very supportive subscriber, you’re not gonna agree with everything I do as a groomer and that’s ok. I know I always make the best decisions regarding the dog, not vanity of what the dog will look like. I appreciate your feedback and you as a supporter 🙏🏾🙏🏾

      @TheLuvOfDogs you take it personally and that's perfectly okay, there's nothing wrong in that. I get defensive af about my own work cos it's something I take great pride in. don't say you don't take it personally cos your reply to me earlier sounded rather personal

    • @TheLuvOfDogs
      @TheLuvOfDogs  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@wanderingrachael It’s not personal, it’s rather a normal response for someone who constantly gets comments about something regarding the video that was clearly stated in the video. Not personal at all. I’m actually completely unbothered. Just because I explain in detail doesn’t mean it’s personal. I explain in detail for people to understand. If I took everything personal I would be a terrible groomer because this is not an easy job. Nothin to take personal here. As I stated earlier, have a great day as I plan to 🙏🏾

      @TheLuvOfDogs  4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      No, he was SEVERELY matted. The 7blade struggled to go through his coat. If the 7 blade went through like butter, I would say, maybe I could have gone to a longer blade but when you see me have to clip in multiple strokes, that is how you know how bad a dog is matted. I couldn’t even cut him in one even stroke. It came off like one big pelt. Honestly, I should have done a 10 blade but I didn’t wanna shave him that short again.

      Um.... AS the coat is coming off, you can literally see how matted the fur is underneath, the way the fur is coming off all stuck together, and you can not see individual hairs or strands. This dog is EXTREMELY matted...
