Glad you liked it! Every dive can be so different - from focusing on small marine life, to looking for frog fish, to night diving, there's something for everyone!
We are planning a trip to STX this March, and your videos are really helpful. We are a group of 6, and my 16 year old son and I are the only divers. So, I figure we'll get in about 5 days of 2-tank morning dives, and hopefully a couple of night dives. I'm a bit overwhelmed by the different choices -- the Pier, shore diving Davis and Cane Bay, Salt River, other boat dives. We're more into reefs than wrecks, so we'll probably do more north shore diving than west -- though we definitely want to dive the Pier one day (and probably night too). So, my main question: I'm trying to decide between boat dives, guided shore dives, and shore dives with just the 2 of us -- are the shore dives at Davis Bay and Cane Bay relatively simple to do on our own, or would we be better off doing those either as guided shore dives or even boat dives?
Thank you for the compliment! Glad to hear that you find the videos helpful. All the members of your group are sure to have a great time on STX; there's something for everyone here. Cane Bay and Davis Bay are beginner to intermediate level shore dives, typically reached from shore rather than from a boat. There are also several other great north shore wall dives, such as North star. We always recommend starting with a local guide that knows the area well. The Sweet Bottom Dive Center (see link below) is the best shop for guided shore dives. There's also a lot of reef to explore on the West end, in addition to the Pier, plus a reef outside Christiansted Harbor. We recommend St. Croix Ultimate Bluewater Adventures (SCUBA) for boat diving. They have two boats, one in Christiansted and one on the West end (see link below). Jeff is an instructor at Sweet Bottom; you can request him for any guided shore dives if you'd like. If you reach out to SCUBA, feel free to mention that Triton's Realm sent you. Please let us know if you have any other questions. Wow it looks like a great diving site! And you found an octopus hiding in a pipe like I did in my Bonaire video! I don't know why they love pipes that much hehe. Maybe they're like cats who love to hide in tight spots sometimes. Great video as always! Oh by the way, it's the first time I see someone diving with a baseball cap :-P Quite original!
Thank you! Octopus are crazy and always seem to be hiding somewhere. The baseball cap. LOL. It's something I started doing years ago. I'm a little follicly challenged on top of my head. 😃 So the basball cap gives me good sun protection when kicking out from shore. Once I'm under the water, I tuck it in a pocket. 👍

Glad I watched this yesterday! Found the pinkish-purple frogfish today. Would have not known to look for it without Evan’s eye.
Great! Glad I could help. -- Evan
