I am helping an asylum seeker. He doesnt want to hire an attorney. How much is TOO MUCH documentation? We have about 15 short articles from Amnesty International and Human Rights Watch about the situation in the country, Is this too much?
My case involves 1000s of pages of court documents, 1000s of audios, hundreds of pages of research.... I start at the most important evidence (judicial, prosecutorial conflicts of interest and authoritarian rule, inherited power, malicious prosecutions, silencing, interference, surveillance, going after potential whistleblowers, etc) and the web expands from there. I figure the immigration officer will get to the point where the case is proven and the rest is icing on the cake. Country reports alone are NOT evidence of persecution. I'm from a "safe" country...but my docunents show it's far from safe if you SPEAK TRUTH TO INHERITED POWER.
You need to hire an American attorney before you come here, before you apply for anything, one mistake and they can kick u out of USA; you can find somebody who is Filipino that way u can talk, a Filipino attorney. Apply in Los Angles you will have a great chance of succeeding.

How can a citizen of a country that has TPS seek asylum in the USA? Can they go to a neighboring country and seek out the USA embassy for help?
