  • This video shows you how to use the multiaxis PARALLEL and MORPH toolpath to machine inside walls of a deep part with a short ball mill. The tool have to be tilted away from part wall to avoid collision.
    In this tutorial, we control the tool axis using the "Fixed angle to axis" method

    Giang, when I get really good in using mastercam, know that it is all because of all the effort you put in sharing what you got.

    You do a GREAT job on your videos and explain everything very well. To answer your question about how to say the decimal numbers, just say the word thousandths after the number. Example: .010 is pronounced 10 thousandths. .001 is pronounced one thousandth. .125 is pronounced one hundred twenty five thousandths. I hope this makes sense and helps you. Please keep making videos, I am learning a lot.

    Tip on pronouncing inch decimal places like a machinist:
    .1 = "100 thousanths (prounounced thow-sanths) or just "100 thou." for short.
    .01 = "10 thou."
    .001 = "1 thou."
    .0001 = "1 tenths of a thou." or just "1 tenth".
    Ex. .3751" = "three-hundred seventy-five thou and one-tenth"
    .2005" = "two-hundred thou and five-tenths" or sometimes it's "two-hundred and a half-thou" cuz .0005 is half a thou.
    Make sense?... No I didnt think so LOL

    Hello Giang, great videos.. I’m new to mastercam just got it last week. I have one quick question how do you have the part move around on all sides when you click on it in the center? How can I do that? Because right now I have to manually click “top view” or “side view” I can not move it around by just clicking the middle of the part.
    Thank you
    -William

      Hi William, I don't click to change the view. I use the shortcut key: Alt+1, Alt+2.... to change view. You can try

    Wow that just shows Titans true colors. Their just upset you didn't use Autodesk products. They dont want you to use their sponsors competitor product. But supposedly those solids are there for people to download and use for education purposes. Funny. - Jacob S.

    I get headache to listen to all the talking just tell the concept if you know. It sounds to me you don't understand the concept you just try 100 times till something works then you make video. This is not how the class teaches you for mastercam. Also this toolpath is incorrect because you can't get the .125 round that is under the side boss and also you are cutting with the side of the tool and the controller in Fanuc needs special parameters to activate in order to understand this motion in proper work plane. This waste of time folks...

    What a waste of machine using a 5axis on 3 axis part

    • @SNRPerformance
      @SNRPerformance 6 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      That's actually my part and we tried to do a simple 3 axis operation but the chatter was huge. So by going with a solid tool holder and a small lollipop. The end results was amazing finish

    • @highstreetkillers4377
      @highstreetkillers4377 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Robert Ralston lol. yeah probably, but you made a simple part cost way more and way longer cycle time. I don't get why people are so afraid of using a bigger diameter tool. Have that cut out it no time. Lower your RPM for long tools. I used a 19.05 mm diameter tool that was sticking out of the holder as long as my arm, cutting P20 steel, had no problem. And it was a straight shank

    • @highstreetkillers4377
      @highstreetkillers4377 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Robert Ralston what is that? Doesn't look like anything where the surface finish even matters. Good machining is about effeciency. This reminds me of watching young guns use a ball nose on a flat surface or taking a 0.05mm stepdown with a 3mm tool. Waste of time. lol

    • @highstreetkillers4377
      @highstreetkillers4377 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      if you have a true 5 axis there are way more advanced parts you should be using the machine for and making a lot of money

    • @SNRPerformance
      @SNRPerformance 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      It's for our 370z whipple supercharger kit.
      We do it more for looks than efficiency. Automotive performance industry likes "Shiny"
      It's not that much longer to mill a finish pass with a lollipop. We leave .0005 on the walls so our feeds and speeds are aggressive
      Yes, we have a true 5 axis HAAS
