He left out some major steps so if you figured this out, can you please say what's supposed to happen before the beginning of this video, because pressing those buttons does literally nothing. This is a non-starter and I really doubt it's complete or correct.

When I go to pair phones, it doesn't tell me to put into pairing mode, it just pops up two phones that aren't mine and no option to search for mine or anything

When it asks to pair a phone, select no. Then you can clear the old paired phones

Sorry you are having a problem. If you are following the directions, on a similar older Civic and it still doesn't work you should take it to your nearest Honda Dealer and let them investigate.
