Ahhh...here is the wonderfully intriguing yet disturbing problem of MCs in Chinese style webnovels. They start out great but then they slowly start to turn disturbing or stink of hypocrisy that really makes you want to recommend a psych evaluation for them (and the writers 😅). Once you read enough Chinese webnovels and you're able to see the signs early on, there would be a nagging feeling that the MC would become an irritating menace or tyrant later on. But you can't stop reading anyway because it's interesting
