I’m just kicking around some ideas like many others. But still I sit around with this one in my head. I think Summer was very much the opposite of Ruby herself. She went into Beacon knowing the secrets of Silver Eyes, Salem, Ozpin and was very well composed in knowing the truth and accepted the destiny she’d been given and would fight. Still there are some things she and Ruby share, probably a clutz, a strategist, and not good at making friends and just as surprised as Ruby was when she was made team leader of her team. But one last thing, summer lied under Ozpin’s request that her Semblance was her silver eyes ability. Taiyang on the other hand I feel slipped his way into Beacon kinda like Jaune, possibly. Or he barely cleared the bar and Ozpin saw potential and let him in. But he went in knowing nothing of the greater truth of the world. And when he did find out he took it in stride, accepting that he personally couldn’t do anything to harm Salem or her forces but he could make sure the his friends and family were safe and trained and help raise the next generation. Also I feel his Semblance possibly was aura manipulation, like he charge himself with it and release it in his body kinda like the 8 inner gates. Raven and Qrow were born into their clan that was one of the last standing ones that refused to conform to the norm or modern society preferring the life of hunters, killers, bandits, and thieves. Oz offered them a place in the academy Raven being reluctant Qrow accepted without a second thought. Raven was happy where she was while Qrow felt morally wrong. Ozpin eventually brought the two of them into his inner circle and gave them power to turn into birds. Raven immediately ran but would keep going back to Tai and running away again as she was just afraid on the inside and even spilling it all to him. Summer did like Tai but knew his heart was still set on Raven and knew well she kept coming back. But Summer and Qrow found about Yang and Summer stepped up helping raise her and Tai also began to fall for her and got her pregnant Qrow keeping his distance because of his Semblance. He also met winter around this time and instantly hated her as did she but in truth they really liked one another but are just too damn stubborn to admit because then they taunt the other with it. Anyway Raven returned to find out Summer had taken over and had a daughter of her own and this broke her emotionally. Eventually Qrow and Summer took a job together and they were attacked by a mysterious figure (aka:Raven) and Qrow’s Semblance flared up and got summer killed, Raven ran and Tai broke down. After learning his brother in law saved his two daughters from certain death he snapped out of it and became a full time dad. Raven kept coming back only hiding in plain sight as a bird and when the girls were away she’d be with Tai only to run off again. Qrow on the other hand went into full time work for Ozpin being his hand in the shadow and keeping an eye on the world at large.
Paul Hazel you know I have had a lot of thought about this and i can see this future almost perfect yang and the crew are nearing the end of volume 7 and as they are wrapping things up tai flys through one of ravens portals to yang with raven with him badly wounded after Salem finished off their tribe of maybe scattered them I also speculate tai yangs semblance is the ability to make thinks bigger on the inside
That was epic! The amount of raw bottled up emotional impact and drama was remarkable, Cube. The vocal voice overs are great as per usual. Keep up the great work! Yang is awesome and kicks ass! Now with a bad-ass robotic arm to boot, Go Yang Xiao Long!
Were you actually curious about that orr were you just joking? If you were serious then the term Maiden is mostly because only females can inherit the power. It has nothing to do with them being virgins
Schneeflocke Monsoon I don’t recall him hinting at virginity at all, beyond the term “maiden”, but I think he placed emphasis on individuals who are young and female. Take Raven’s current age, subtract Yang’s, and I suspect that Raven met the age requirement. “Maiden” could also be a reference to a general innocence or purity of soul, which I think might match up with a younger and less nihilistic Raven. I imagine her at that time as fighting the good fight, being an integral member of a team who sought to do what was right.

That is how Cinder was able to steal the rest of the Fall Maiden's powers instead of them going elsewhere by making sure that Amber was conscious when she killed her so her last thoughts would be on her assassin.

Oh dude that line "Daughter to summer Rose" really fuckin hit. That was a hell of a delivery and a hell of a good line. That alone made me like and sub. That was amazing...but then I reached the end....that moment when she was walking in the vault talking to herself in here head....that final line... My father walked out on me when I was very little, and I asked that very same question Yang asked...why didnt they want me? So that last line got me. It got me good. That was amazing. Kudos. This is why Qurow is looking for Tai in his dreams. He was looking for help.He believes he killed her. Raven did the deed and this is why Tai never seems to want to talk about her. This also why Raven is so bitter about Oz. He played his hand too close to his chest and it looked like he set Summer up. She blames Ozpin for her death and sees herself as a merciful killer. This is also why, no matter what, she is never seen around Ruby. She looks too much like Summer Rose.
@@Al-ir6vb I don;t think you're far off. in My theory Summer was sent to mistral on a mission from Ozpin to look for the Spring Maiden who escaped. She found her and was escorting her back to Beacon when she ran into Salem's crew (probably tipped off by Lionheart). She fought them off temporarily, and managed to escape with the SM, but she needed help. Realizing she was in Raven's territory she sought her out and asked for help. She asked Raven to hide the SM while Summer tried to get past her pursuers to get help. Raven agreed, probably following Summer in Bird form. Summer was cornered by Salem's Crew (maybe Tyrian?) fought them and lost. Raven then watched as Summer died. This fits very well with the lyrics of "Sacrifice". Especially the line "The moon will watch the Roses Die, in Vain. Loss, no gain" .. I think Raven was at Summer's side when she died and that was the thing that broke Raven's spirit turning her into the cynical, Jaded personality who hates Ozpin's guts.
That Fresh Prince reference. I only saw that episode once and I was a little kid, so I forgot about it, but as I looked it up and the scene started playing, the memory came crashing back as I heard the name Lou. As if this video didn't hurt me enough for one day.
Me every time Yang makes a pun: "Goddammit Barb!" Daughter of Summer Rose.... OUCH! What she should have thought: "That's it, cry your little b*** tears...." *Proceeds to cry*
Oh Yang, it's not that she didn't want you, it's that she was too much of a coward to stay and fight by the side of those she cares for. But hey look at the bright sides! Had you been raised by her who knows how you'd turn out. And had she stayed....Ruby may have never been born. And could you honestly say you'd trade her away for a life with Raven in it?
Nice! I love Fresh Prince of Bel Air! I still wonder if that scene was his awesome acting or it was him really venting about his father. I can definitely see the similarity and semblance (no pun intended) between the two situations.
So I’m not familiar with how much we know about the time and events around Yang’s birth. However my current head canon is that Raven was in a position where she might have been equipped to be a good mother ( or at least attempt it ). I believe that either just before or just after Yang’s birth Raven had her encounter with the previous Spring Maiden, perhaps in combination with learning about Salem’s invulnerability. This combination of events may have set her on a very different path.
I'm gonna be honest when you started making references to Fresh Prince I teared up because that scene was probably the saddest thing ever to come out of a sitcom.

Berserk abridged, Gantz Abridged, and Escaflwone abridged? he has completed all three and doesn't produce new content much nowadays so most people now him mostly for his work with Team Four Star as the voices of Nail and Alexander Anderson. This is why Qurow is looking for Tai in his dreams. He was looking for help.He believes he killed her. Raven did the deed and this is why Tai never seems to want to talk about her. This also why Raven is so bitter about Oz. He played his hand too close to his chest and it looked like he set Summer up. She blames Ozpin for her death and sees herself as a merciful killer. This is also why, no matter what, she is never seen around Ruby.
She looks too much like Summer Rose.
They actually confirmed in Vol. 5 that the Spring Maiden was from Haven who ran away 10 prior to the story.

@@Al-ir6vb I don;t think you're far off. in My theory Summer was sent to mistral on a mission from Ozpin to look for the Spring Maiden who escaped. She found her and was escorting her back to Beacon when she ran into Salem's crew (probably tipped off by Lionheart). She fought them off temporarily, and managed to escape with the SM, but she needed help. Realizing she was in Raven's territory she sought her out and asked for help. She asked Raven to hide the SM while Summer tried to get past her pursuers to get help. Raven agreed, probably following Summer in Bird form. Summer was cornered by Salem's Crew (maybe Tyrian?) fought them and lost. Raven then watched as Summer died. This fits very well with the lyrics of "Sacrifice". Especially the line "The moon will watch the Roses Die, in Vain. Loss, no gain" .. I think Raven was at Summer's side when she died and that was the thing that broke Raven's spirit turning her into the cynical, Jaded personality who hates Ozpin's guts.

So I’m not familiar with how much we know about the time and events around Yang’s birth. However my current head canon is that Raven was in a position where she might have been equipped to be a good mother ( or at least attempt it ). I believe that either just before or just after Yang’s birth Raven had her encounter with the previous Spring Maiden, perhaps in combination with learning about Salem’s invulnerability. This combination of events may have set her on a very different path.
Except that the last Spring Maiden vanished 10 years prior to the story. Which at that time Yang would've been 8 and Raven was already gone.
