Nice! In all these examples is it really the attacker picking targets of choice (weaker units before stronger)? I know damaged armies can be hidden behind full strenght ones in the WW1 game at least (so to attack them you have to also attack the other defenders too first).
In the amphib example landing in Brussels, why wouldn't the Brits simply move the unit across the channel into Calais and then attack into Brussels? That would cancel out the German defensive advantage vs amph assaults.
At 19'40" > "This game which is simple" > NOOOO! Very complicated and much too complicated for us! We are not wargamers but only boardgamers playing simple games like Star Wars Rebellion, Terraforming mars, Eclipse etc But after 3 readings of the rules and more vidéos we couldn't manage to understand and play this one! But TY for the video try!
27:50 Why are you adding the strength of the german troops and then subtracting the strength of the USSR troops? Doesnt seem like this "+4" difference was used in the combat resolution at all. Afterwards you just added 5+2 for german tropps + die roll vs 3 for USSR troops + die roll and checked the difference. Is the +4 unit strength difference you mentioned used anywhere at all?
The +4 check is done to see if Exploitation movement can be performed by armored armies nearby. In this game, after combat is resolved, no more units can move during the turn, so, any Exploitation movement has to be performed before combat. The units, in resolving combat, simply add a die roll to see who wins.
Many thanks for this fantastic video!! We leave you the link to the Kickstarter campaign www.kickstarter.com/projects/doitgames-downfalls/downfall-the-wargames-series
Fantastic video. Thank you.
You got my pledge, thanks for the great video Stuka Joe!
Thank you very much!!
Looks like a cool game. Quicker to play than “World in Flames”. 😉
Indeed is more fast to play than WiF 🤣
Reminds me a bit of the system in 'Absolute War! The Russian Front 1941-45' from GMT, but with dice.
I was thinking the same thing,Hopefully the rules are better organized.
Parece un juego con la complejidad justa. Apetecible.
Great video, very well shot and edited. The game looks very interesting. The components look beautiful.
Backed on the strength of your video.
Wow! This game looks like a monster, in the good sense. Stuka Joe,, thank you for posting.
As ever, very well executed. Also like the clear flexible design of this game.
great show Joe as usual
That looks like a great game!
Thanks Joe!
