      It hurts even more when no one in the comments is talking about her scars.
      There are two types of scarring on her neck, the first is rope burn which occurs from friction against ropes during hanging (her scarring isn't so bad which means the scar is from an artificial rope, the cheap kind you often find on construction sites that's orange/blue), the second is from some kind of nylon wire, nylon because there's little friction marks and the cut is so precise, if the wire were metal the edges of the scar would be more jagged and overall deeper (think when you're hanging, your whole body weight is hanging from the throat, a metal wire is basically a cheese wire or garotte and would cut right through if it were thin enough.)
      This poor girl has attempted suicide at least twice.
      On another note, I'm actually shocked at my own thinking. I'm not attracted to her, nor is it my child or responsibility, yet I find myself incomprehensibly wanting to help her. Sigh. I'm going to end up as a step-dad, guess I'd better use Tinder.

    I feel I must add this note to the young mother.
    My girlfriend when I was 19 got pregnant when I was dating her. So, I rearranged all my other life plans and married her so that we could raise the child and, eventually, her younger siblings.
    Eventually, I was able to get my schooling and career back on track. Once the children got a bit older I was able to pursue jobs that enabled me to provide pretty well for my family. I have either visited or worked in 20 countries. My wife and I now have 24 grandchildren.
    I know my circumstances are not the same as yours. I’m not holding myself up in comparison to you.
    I’m just trying to show you that there can be hope.
    Keep hanging in there. Keep focusing on what’s important as you are already doing.
    It’s all going to work out. Even though things are very hard right now.
    You can do this.

    I had a classmate, we used to hang out because of mutual friends. She was really good looking and nice. I live in a very traditional country, pregnancy before marriage is frowned upon. One day I got the news she was pregnant when we were eating at the cafeteria. What fucking blew my mind was when her own friends spread rumors about her. She dropped out. Last time i saw her was when it was her son's first birthday. I asked her if she regretted it, but she just smiled said that it was the best decision she could have made for herself. I didn't ask anymore and just told her to take care of herself and her son. I saw her post on Facebook last time, she got a scholarship to go back to school. I hope people become more open and not jump to conclusions.

That way of thinking, you will always see the negatives. Even in your own life. Also, Korea is a place where a lot of things are required by law. Like men serving two years in the military. Maybe she didn’t apply for government assistance. Maybe it’s something that is automatic.
      Also, my mother. Never was on government assistance. She worked two jobs as a teen, walked and took me on the bus with her everywhere. I grew up fine, I also served my country for 8 years :) traveled the world and was blessed to interact with everyone. In many situations, even teen pregnancy. Your so quick to judge someone by a “mistake” but it’s not a mistake at all. That baby is a blessing regardless of the time is was born. Everyone has their own path, & journey. Besides I know kids who are born to parents who are in their 40s, who are rich and yet the kid is miserable, parents are negative who bash their kids constantly and cause trauma. Don’t criticize anyone’s situation. Negativity will only take a toll on your life. Have a good day :) Xz xz ❤️‍🩹

My birth father lives to regret it. I don't hate him but I did'nt forgive him either. She was so strong and she still is today, I’m so proud of her for not abandoning her child. She wanted to be a mom but not at a young age. Today my nephew is 3 years old, my cousin and my nephew are both doing well, me and my cousin really never got to hear about the dad so I’m really glad about that. So I had a woman from Korea come interview my class (because we had teen moms in it and on-site daycare for their children.)
    And she shared how so many babies get abandoned and die every year because kids aren't taught proper sexual education, hide pregnancies, and it's very taboo for teens to ask about + obtain birth control still.. and mainly there was zero supportive places for teen moms in Korea.
    Noone is perfect. These teens don't get pregnant by themselves but they always end up stuck with all the responsibility and everyone else's judgement.
    (Most teen pregnancies are cause by men 20-29 years old studies showed....)
    Actively choose kindness and choose to donate to programs that help & advocate for teen parents and their children. Leave your communities better/healthier/happier than you found them instead of gawk at, judge, and pick apart other human beings lives...
    This world is so miserable and dark as it is, why add to it...

We have shows like Teen Mom and all of that here, so to hear these disgusting comments that were made to her is a GIANT culture shock, cause I had my sons at the same age she had her daughter and never once did I get asked any of these kinds of questions, hell most people complimented me on my well behaved sons.

I also want to remind you that not to make yourself fully responsible for getting pregnant. You had help. He should have worn a condom. Now he's a coward & ran away from his share of the responsibility. Does his family know about the baby? If not & when you’re ready, please make sure that they do because you don't want your child to fall in love with a sibling when it's an adult. That would be a shocker and heartbreaking. My older sister and I were raised by a single mother. It breaks my heart to see that people are so quick to judge you for the choices you have made, especially concerning your baby. It breaks my heart so see the rude questions they would ask. It makes me think about just how much my own mother had to go through it, even if she was already older (30-40) when she had me and my sister. You are so incredibly strong, and at the end of the day whatever choice you made is yours, and no one has the right to take that choice away. There's nothing to be ashamed of.
    I wish you only the best, for you and your baby. I promise you that, once your daughter is older she will be grateful for everything you've done for her, I know I am w/my own mom. And I wish you nothing but happiness and health.

    I was very drawn to this video. I was a very young mother as well, 19 when I had my first. My kids are half Korean, the Korean on their bio dad’s side. I uprooted my life and moved to his city, near his family. I heard a lot of these exact questions. Not as direct, but I understood a lot of the backhanded comments. I carried myself like a very unconfident teenager (because I was) and people caught on very quickly. I saw a lot of these questions as personal attacks to my child but I never said anything back due to being afraid. I never stood up for myself and I wish I did. These words HURT badly. Their dad quickly disappeared from our lives, and the people who asked me these questions did as well. The sad part is, all these people are directly related to my children. And they said these things knowing full well that children absorb these negative feelings. I’m now 25, married to a man who loves my children endlessly. Things do get better and those lonely nights crying at your child’s bedside apologizing for being a single mother do fade. ❤️

    I totally understand her. Even though I had two parents in my early childhood, I’m currently living with a single mother. The fact that she is doing this at 20 surprises me more. Honestly, “Responsibility doesn’t proportions with age” is the best line I got from this video so far. Some are just more mature than others and people should just be understanding, put yourself in other’s shoes (it’s difficult, but you just have to view it from their perspective). Knowing she is a single mother, I think the child will definitely know from an early age that she has a father, but she doesn’t see him often (bc he “ran off”). She’ll definitely be more mature than others for her age, but she’ll also feel a lack of fatherly/paternal love. I just want to help them live a better life, even from the screen.

I got pregnant and had my daughter at 19 too and I am a single mother. I'm 30 now and my daughter is 10 and going to be going to 6th grade and she keeps good grades. She is very smart, funny, talented, and kind. It doesn't matter if the child is from a single parent home or has bother parents because as long as the child is loved and taken care of that's all that matters. I can honestly say even here in America I have been asked some of those questions. These questions were upsetting to read. My mom had me when she was 19, the guy didn't want to take full responsible of the consequence he made. Well she also received these kind of questions too in reality, but the truth is like what Jiwoo just said; she behaved well after she gave birth to her baby and my mom too. She used to confess to me without my existence in her life, she would've been worse and me in her life taught her to be independent and a matured woman, it's not something easy for woman to be single mother at the early age but it takes the strongest one to be a mother. When i was a little less mature, i used to put myself in comparison with other kids because my life was abnormal, other kids are having family in 1 house but not me and i always thought i was a mistake in this world, well it's no use for me to complain about my life because there's always a beauty out from the ugly and now I'm an adult, I'm proud of my mom because she raised me well and she also raised herself well and that's the beauty. So to all single mothers out there y'all shouldn't feel bad about having a baby at such an early age because life is not about being the same as others, we go through different journey to be the best form of ourselves. And to kids who are having abnormal life like me just know you're not a mistake, your existence in this world brings beauty to others. ❤

    I'm actually crying for her. Like how can this messed up society treat her like that when they didn't even teach them proper education about protection? A lot of teens start having intercourse in high school and that's normal, so it's important to teach them to be safe and reach out if they suddenly become pregnant. Most teenage boys aren't going to take responsibility for the baby at that age either, so it leaves the girls in a difficult spot when they are suddenly left on their own to have/raise a baby. How can society look at teens with shame when this happens when it's society that has failed them?! We should embrace them and help them to raise the baby in a warm environment, not push old views at them and make their lives even harder. Stop looking at teenage moms with those eyes and grow the f*ck up. Her baby is so precious. I'm feeling the same anger as Yumi on this one.

    • @iminumst7827
      @iminumst7827 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @I am a chonky cat It's well known through the hard data that a child does not develop mentally properly without two parental figures. For instance, fatherlessness has more of a relationship with creating a criminal than any other factor including poverty.
      Fatherlessness is not often not a choice, and I rarely shame single mothers. The single mothers that deserve shame are ones who aren't looking for a new father. Single mothers who think they can raise a kid on their own are literally depriving their child of a happy life. Fatherless kids are more depressed, more likely to turn to substance abuse, more likely to get bad grades and drop out, more likely to be violent, etc. On top of that because of how essential a two parent house is for economic stability, single parents often go to government programs to leech off the taxpayers dollar as a replacement for the father.
      If you want a country to turn into a crime ridden depressed hell home then continue to uncritically support all single moms.

    • @iminumst7827
      @iminumst7827 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @I am a chonky cat A family needs a father-figure, even if that person is not literally the father or literally a man. That was the point I'm getting at. That's why I used the term "two parental figures". The only reason I honed in on fatherlessness is because that's where the most studies and data can be found.
      "And a person doesn't need to feel forced to have a partner because of their child , these sort of cases the kid is even more harmed"
      It is true that a step-parent is more likely to be abusive than a biological parent, this is why I'm also mostly against divorce with some exceptions (like physical abuse). Data shows kids in a two-parent household are so much better off developmentally in a lot of ways on average than a single-parent household. Single-parents should still have standards and not rush too much to get a partner, but it is a single-parent's responsibility to look for a good new parent for the child's sake.
      "Many studies done back in the days are proven to be wrong now."
      That's true, but the truth is there are no studies that show single-parenthood is healthy. Times where studies are wrong are most often in areas where there's a lot of conflicting data. The point of being scientifically minded is believing in what the data says, and updating that belief when the data changes. If evidence does prove that single-parents aren't at a disadvantage, I will change my belief. But until then a rational person should believe single-parenthood and divorce are negative forces in society.
      It's true that there's always exceptions, there's always going to be single-parent households that turn out to be great, and biological parents that turn out to be terrible. But unless you can see the future, you should be basing your life decisions, principles, and judgements of others on facts, and fact is on average single-parenthood is really really bad for the child. For instance, parental abuse is statistically more likely in single-parent households than it is in a two-parent biological household.
      I'm sorry if I came off as rude, but frankly, single-parenthood is a pretty terrible thing to do to a child, and I get frustrated when I see people put it up on a pedestal as if there's no downside to it.

Mowed and weed eated cemeteries.. all while going to college. I married my childhood friend and graduated nursing school in 2009. My feelings were hurt for her. Being a mom is one of the hardest jobs in the world. She's young and doing it on her own. Not just that, looks like she's doing a GOOD job. Being a mom, you spread yourself incredibly thin. Not having a support system makes things that much harder. I hope this girl receives nothing but love, kindness and blessings in life for her and her daughter. I hope she knows she is a true bad ass.

    I totally agree..."Children with both parents also face things for which the parents should be sorry about or they feel sorry about it doesn't matter what type of family it is, one parent or a dad or a mom."

    I hope I'm not coming off sounding rude, but as I understand it, being a single teenage mother isn't ideal in our society. Life is very tough, raising a child on your own especially when there are financial issues. So I do not think that it's something that we should encourage but not shame either, because shaming leads no where when the situation already is what it is. And we shouldn't shame or judge these people whether a pregnant women chooses to keep the baby or to have an abortion because these are ethical questions to which every individual have their right to decide to what they think is ethically right to do. I'm just genuinely concerned for young single mothers like her and her child and I hope she finds strength to do her best in raising her child... However I do still think it is so important to warn young teens about the consequences of having casual sex and that's they should both be fully prepared to take responsibility of the child if a pregnancy occurs and contraceptives fail. Moreover, the man should realise that it is also completely natural if the girl wants to keep the baby and doesn't want to get abortion. But that he nevertheless needs to be there for her even if that were the case. This childs father doesn't receive any sympathy from me! He is probably the biggest reason why this mother now has to suffer all the shaming. He would be a much more fair target of all that hatred. How shameful...

      you realize that you can get pregnant when you're not having causal sex right? you can get pregnant while in a committed monogomous relationship and while youre using protection. shit happens.

    • @Nothingbutdust_
      @Nothingbutdust_ 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@1Dispretty2me Yes, but it's less likely that someone would be discriminated under such circumstances. It's more likely to be viewed as ok whether the couple desired to get pregnant or not. Unless we're talking about very young teens.

    • @Nothingbutdust_
      @Nothingbutdust_ 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@1Dispretty2me Also, why would you say "shit happens" if we're talking about a committed couple who genuinely loves each other? Sometimes even if they weren't planning on having children and protections fail it can still turn out to be a great blessing for them.

      @@Nothingbutdust_ shit happens isn't just a bad thing. It's just a way of saying things happen whether you prepare or not. Protection isn't 100% safe, but people in Conservative countries like Korea wouldn't care. They'd just think you are irresponsible to be having sex at that age

      @@preranalal I understand it's a saying but to me it sounds a little out of place in a context of a child. But, yes I get your point.

    But I think she turned out to be the best person to walk into jiwoo’s life right after jiwoo’s daughter.

    She is very strong and idk why i’m tearing up but as she said i do think money does bring you happiness i mean to some extent , she wouldn't think everyday that my child could have a better life , she would never have the thought of feeling sorry for the child and money brings power , idk if y’all understand me but if she was from a rich / powerful family , not many people would have been able to pass these remarks

    Don’t be ashamed. This is a very common thing in the uk. In the area I was raised in it was more uncommon to have both parents in your life. Some of the most well rounded people come from this up bringing.

    As a single mom, I wish things worked that he had both parents. But like her, I built the love he needed as best I can. He’s 7 and happy and her daughter will be happy having a momma like her 🥰. She’s a great mom.

    "Aren't you sorry for the baby?" AGH this one!! I can't even begin... Some people have no idea what they're talking about, or how to see the value of life. I can't tell you how grateful I am to see the wonderful people in this video speaking out against this cruelty. You guys can really help heal others with your pure and honest reactions.

    I don’t understand, why would someone make the decision to have a child while being a teenager? It seems very difficult if you are also pursuing education. She is hard working.
