Opening with "if we have to explain a joke its not funny" on a Stewart Lee video is a little worrying. If you explain the joke for 10 minutes with a running commentary on how it is being received by different parts of the audience it can be pretty funny.

Yeah, Stew likes brick jokes and dragging jokes on far longer than is appropriate. That makes clips far less funny than the full performance in context.

I was in the Louvre recently and saw people clustering around the Mona Lisa. It looked good but as I am not sure where Leonardo da Vinci stood on free market economics and the issues surrounding transsexuals, I could not bring myself to appreciate the painting just in case.

Went to see him live doing "Basic Lee" four days ago. I'm still digesting it! His deconstruction of comedy is absolutely superb!
