How refreshing to see a celebrity not totally full of themselves. She understood her time as a performer was past and embraced it. She sought another way to express her creativity.

Agreed. She's a priceless, breathing piece of history. She needs to be interviewed 24/7 while she's still lucid. These interviews are wonderful. As long as she's willing to talk and share her experience, just let her go. The stories of rock hedonism, of musical icons we lost too early, of the Vietnam / civil rights era, etc. are all priceless. We won't have her much longer, so we need to appreciate her now and get her to talk as much as she's willing to.
@Cray Fishe YOU ARE CORRECT...SHOW-BUSINESS,..It's obvious you understand but Grace Slick like most PROFESSIONALS in the music industry are well educated and there to earn and make money? I live in Fort Worth, Texas and so back in 1978-1979 I was a waiter and musician so I basically worked at night. Back then Charlie Rose, when he was just starting out, had a talk show on a local television station here, NBC, that got taped around nine in the morning. Anyways if you showed up early at the station back in those days you could be in the audience and participate in the show, it was set up exactly like the Phil Donahue Show. I got to be a regular, did this for almost a year, it was a lot fun! Anyways, one time back in 79 Grace Slick was the guest and it was one of the best shows I ever experienced and even after the show I got to hang around and have a conversation with her for 15 minutes or so. She was awesome, pretty, funny, smart and so down to earth, a great experience and memory! What you see here is who she is, genuine!
I love her description of the guy that can't "sing", has no stage presence and wonders what people see in him/them yet there are thousands that love him/them. You know what she is describing? Bad Taste!! And she did it very classy!
She looks like a much younger woman that’s hair turned white at a young age. Even her voice is not 70 plus. She was born October 30th 1939 and this was recorded February 6, 2015. You are looking at a 76 year old woman!!!
She was born the same year my late father was born (1939). She retired long ago but she was the oldest classic rock performer when she performed. She was older than all the Stones/ Beatles.
Very insightful and well spoken about this stuff. I wish she would do more interviews. I think, aside from being Grace, that she's pretty interesting to listen to.
grace's 1981 solo album was the best female album of 1981 it wasnt pat benetar or bette midler or joan jette. the media has always been biased and hostile towards grace. her awesome 1981 album got zero radio play.
the interviewer is at a loss, it seems. she is thrown for a loop - probably because she has never interviewed a established figure in music who didn't have attitude, was angry about nothing in particular, and who stated things simply and coherently, without trying to be snarky.
Jefferson Airplne were very instrumental in my starting my first band in 69. Gracie has gotten a little bitter over the years but I have Huge Respect for her and All in that band . I'm 71 now and I still listen to many late 69,s west coast psychedelic bands .👍🏻
Honest and good morals. Next to Cher she is the most accomplished. I really like her more, holding more records except she is second being the oldest female artist to have a number one hit, next to Cher.
