You can tell the cast and crew adore Halle. They take every opportunity to rave about not only her performance and talent but also her character. I'm glad she has this support bts in the face of everything else. The best person for the job got the job and that person is Halle Bailey. She deserves all the love in the world. She even has the naysayer critics admitting she was perfectly cast

I love Melissa she is hilarious, and Javier is so… regal??? He has such a great presence! They way they speak about Halle fills me with pride for her, it’s almost like doting parents. Love the entire cast, just wonderful
I've been a die-hard Melissa McCarthy fan, since the "Mike and Molly" sitcom days, and to watch her continue to build an impressive portfolio, while starring in box- office hit after hit, makes me so proud! She's always had that "it factor", for sure. With both Academy Awards and Golden Globes on her belt, there is no one else (in my opinion) who could've done a better job at playing such a commanding role as Ursula. Melissa definitely added a Broadway spin to this character! Simply put, the entire cast knocked this one out of the park!!!! Congrats to all!!❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
I’m so curious about Vanessa too and how they’re going to do the switch with Ariel’s voice. Already Halle’s voice seems so ‘Disney’ but also unique - it’s going to be interesting to see someone else mime her voice
in the original, jodi voiced vanessa because ursula was using ariels voice for vanessa. hopefully they do the same in live-action because her little reprise on the ship is so good
Such a drastic change from the dark, sinister characters he usually portrays (i.e. Anton Chigurh, Raoul Silva, Captain Salazar). It's nice to see him play good guys for a change. Check him out in Lyle, Lyle Crocodile. 😊❤️
Every one in the film did such a fantastic job from the technical side (below the line workers) to the talent like these two. It was a fun movie and a good time. I’m not a musicals person but I enjoyed the singing and music in the film.
coming from Javier Bardem who is an Oscar winner and Melissa McCarthy who is a two-time Oscar nominee, it all makes sense why Halle Bailey really devoured this role omg
Does Tiana mean nothing anymore? Why are we treating her as the first POC princess? We had Mulan, Pocahontas, Moana, brandy in Cinderella??? Halle is not breaking any ceilings in fact she’s following in footsteps.
I think it is the political climate that we’re in where outwardly outspoken racists made it a bigger deal than than it was so people retaliated against them.. I distinctly remember when Brandy was in Cinderella, at a time when a black female actor playing a role intended for a white woman was rare and they didn’t make it about her race…. people also seem to have forgotten that Auli'i Cravalho (the voice of Moana) also played Ariel and Queen Latifah played Ursula and it was nothing as hyped as this. I think too Halle Bailey does appear to be a genuinely nice adorable person with a voice quite similar to Jodi Benson so that may play a part too.
@@calypso_lazuli have you noticed the battle is being played from both sides though?
