  • Designing roof trusses as per IS 800 and IS 875 part 1, 2, and 3. Various types of roof trusses include king post truss, scissor truss, north light truss, etc.
    The design of steel roof trusses using STAAD Pro v8i software is explained in this series of videos. The Pratt truss, north light truss, howe truss, box truss, girder truss, fink truss are the various steel roof trusses that can be designed using the STAAD Pro software.

    HI there. Good job with the video very interesting. i do have similar problem of my own. My building is required to resist wind loading, seismic loading of 0.15g, temperature both an increase and decrease in temperature and ofcourse dead load and live load. the truss i am designing is a parallel chord pratt truss alpha of 2.5 deg with gable frames. I have applied all my loads on the truss as point loads however i am still seeing bending in the upper and lower chords in my staad model. Can you perhaps advise me?

      Ur thoughts are appreciable .but pls share only knowledge . Let ppl understand that Structural engg is not easy . It require laborious and intelligence . And why u have provided so much spacing for Purlins . Check spacing for Purlins as per sheetings for real conditions. Else u did a great work ..
