I found a spotted hawk moth yesterday and WOAH. It was huge! I was like the size of my hand! Sadly he was going to die because when he got caught in a spiderweb, his wings got all ripped up. So I kept him in a jar for a few hours and then put him in our flower garden to die peacefully.

I grew a night blooming cereus plant on my front porch. I waited night after night to see the one bloom when it opened. So the night I went outside it had bloomed and there was a beautiful Luna Moth getting nectar from it. The blooms give off a lovely fragrance that can attract moths from quite a distance. I live in Alabama and I praise you for loving the moths. I grew up being fascinated by nature and the beauty of all creatures.

Yess, canary shouldered thorn is absolutely adorable! They look like little chicks, they are yellow and yellow is the cutest and most positive colour ever, and i read that their feeding mechanism works like this little party thingy like you blow and it unfolds and makes a sound (i was lazy to look it up sorry)

The wingless female moths are so cute and fuzzy. Too bad they can't fly. But really cute little things! I raised some tussock moths years ago and it was another species with wingless females. Amazingly, I had a male AND a female emerge just a few days apart. But sadly, the female got stuck in her pupa and tried for hours and hours to get out but no progress, so I had to step in and help. It was hard because the chrysalis seemed stuck to her delicate body and I was scared I'd rip part of her abdomen off, but we got her out. I found out she only had 3 legs. Maybe the other 3 legs missing is why she was too weak to get out? Anyway, I was hoping they'd mate but she died the overnight. Must have spent so much energy trying to get out of the pupa. Tried to release the male but he flew in the garage and I looked for him, but never saw him again. I hope to do it again sometime with a happier ending :(

I found a Rosey Maple moth on the front glass of the Dollar General I worked at. Unfortunately he was stuck in a Spider Web, but looked to be alive. I made the very poor decision of interfering, cutting it out of the spider web and letting it crawl onto my finger, setting it down on a tree. I hope that spider got ahold of another insect to make up for the meal I deprived it of lol

There was a roses maple moth in my old houses bathroom one time, and more recently like a year ago I went do a family friends house and I found a HUGE roses maple moth while playing with my cousins but she wouldn’t let me hold it because she said that I would “kill it” but I have never killed a bug unless it was a wolf spider on purpose and she always takes animals into her house and they end up getting killed somehow. But any ways the moth was adorable just like the ones featured in this video!
My favourite is def the lunar moth but they are all very cute and cool :D Thanks for sharing. IF they live a few days, I bet artificial light is a distraction they don't need huh :( Maybe there is a way to have non insect attracting lights. Is there research on that. There should be.

I think rosy maple moths are adorable. I like to think of them as lemonade moths because they come in pink and yellow like lemonade.
