There was a gap between weak scooters going 50 km/h max and huge expensive beasts requiring a motorcycle license. NIU understands that the key to making electric scooters/motorcycles popular are more 125cc equivalents, which are the perfect option for most people living in cities.

True, but I think I'll wait for the East (?) India model. Theirs is built by a Woman owned, all women workers. The owner stayed she wanted to improve women's standing in India. The way, was to provide employment at a good wage for women. So far it's working! Although supply chain issues exist.

The Honda PCX is 157cc with actual storage space, from a reputable dealer, for $3799 US, and does 70mph and 88mpg.
Nothing against electrics, but the only thing $5000 competes with in small-cc scooter land is Vespa, and those aren't supposed to be affordable. These kind of prices are better but they're not "there" yet.

GT Evo looks good, starting to become a real alternative practicality and price wise. Another 10km/h would make it great for hopping on highway / city ring roads for short distances. If these where in Australia I’d seriously consider one for small errands/commuting. I can understand why they are not in Australia at the moment with Australia’s backwards thinking on EV’s, hopefully one day we get there.

I'm very tempted by the RQI, but not at this top speed. Niu needs to hurry up the 130km/h one, and go belt drive. Also, range seems low for motorcycle, it needs at least 150km range, or some time of fast charging. For scooters it's ok to have less range, but for moto, we need more range or possibility of expansion or fast charge.

We didn't get to hear the speed or range for the Evo, but I am doubtful that either is better than most 125cc petrol scooters. At $5000 it would be less than a Vespa, but more than almost every other 125. I am excited about Niu. I wish we had a dealer in Tucson.

You can buy a Kymco 7kw petrol scooter for about 2300 euros, which is likely better made than the niu. It's a shame to see such a big price increase for such little extra power and range over their existing models.

  • @mix3ry199
    @mix3ry199 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

Nice to see at least something moving in Europe.
Personally, I see, and Taiwan shows it, the future, especially in scooters and motorcycles, in exchangeable batteries.
All the electric scooters, except the new "Schwalbe" were all at 45km/h, which is fine for the city, but as soon as it goes outside the city, it's no fun anymore
I'm still laughing with my Yamaha EC-05
Also 125cc range, all-electric, range about 50-60km per charge with my riding style (fast and quick)
More power (7,5kw), faster (100km/h) and cheaper 3000€ (without subsidies) and let's say almost unlimited range, thanks to battery swap stations.
The same goes for Gogoro, Alpha and Sym Scooter.

Concept design requires you start with the user, not simply adapt what is currently available. Unfortunately, the only vehicle I’ve seen to take this approach is the BMW which, as well as being out of most people’s budget, still isn’t perfect. But still, the ev market is making good progress, it now just needs to focus less on kW, range and speed - these specs are generally getting there - and more on what people actually need from a practical perspective.

The distinction between motorized 2-wheeled vehicles with pedals vs motor only 2-wheelers has once gain gained importance in many states as a direct result of high powered e-bikes... especially those in the category that includes the likes of the Super 73 and Juiced Scorpions.

@@mannyechaluce3814 I have ICE motorcycles, scooters, e-bikes and even had a true moped once. I just simply call them what they are, as are you welcome to call them anything you want. But when a company's director doesn't seem to get the distinction, that is a red flag that they are simply selling a "widget" without a true interest in or understanding of the product. But then again, it's probably just my insecurity getting the best of me :-)

Hybrid or Halfcocked as I call them are outdated already,a waste of time I think.

    Shitty music!
Idk, I feel like that's faster than any moped should go...

€5000 a bit steep for it
    You can buy a 125cc for €3500ish

Hi everyone, unfortunately not all that glitters is gold, and I'm sorry to say I am an owner of a NIU MQI GT EVO scooter since 28/06/2022 and after about a week of use precisely on 6/07/2022 the scooter has me left on foot with error 123. The dramatic thing that to date the problem has not been solved and the most dramatic thing is that the KSR Italy and Europe (importers of the vehicle) had been aware of this problem for months just see the German forums that Italian of which I leave you the links at the end. Fortunately the dealer (a pore Christ) is kind and tries as he can to put some patches which do not hold up for long and KSR in response tells him the tale that shortly textual words "a minute" an elusive firmware update must come out. will correct the problem and there are people who have been waiting for it for 3 months and on 06/29/2022 the last one (MXE01N11) came out and didn't solve anything. I think that the times are still immature to be able to trust the purchase of anything that exceeds a certain value from these importers (KSR) who offer guarantees and assistance equal to zero, and if you decide to do so you have to consult google some time ago who said "do you feel lucky today?", if the answer and you proceed otherwise better desist. www.forumelettrico.it/forum/niu-m-series-f206.html - www.elektroroller-forum.de/viewtopic.php?f=63&t=29430&start=60
