Thanks, 25 yrs since I last sailed lasers. The understanding has improved dramatically. Now I need lots of practice. It will also make a big difference in my other two person three sail boat. Still that's what retirement is about.
That's phenomenal to hear Robert. Maybe one day we'll see you down at one of our All-Inclusive Laser clinics in Mexico. Also, did you see our online course available at the website now? It is much more detailed and comprehensive than our TH-cam videos.
Glad it was helpful!👍 Thanks for watching and come out Mexico this winter for one of our famous ILCA Laser Clinics. We have several we offer for different abilities and availabilities. Let us know if you have any questions and we hope to see you here soon! internationalsailingacademy.com/clinic-dates/
Another really helpful video--only sorry that there was no discussion of physics/kinetics of death-rolling--including both how to prevent and how to abort. Not only so, but I find it tricky to right a death-rolled Laser--partly because the boat wants to turtle in this situation, partly because the boom has sometimes accidentally rotated past 90 degrees to the front side of the boat, and partly because the position of the boat in the water makes it hard to right without capsizing again (that combination of sudden weather helm and windward capsizing means that righting the boat pulls the sail up broad to the wind, and already headed towards a leeward tip this time)--I sometimes have to swim the nose into the wind, which isn't great for race placings! cheers,
