I was an absolute HATER towards One Piece for over ten years, everyone kept telling me to watch it and I thought it looked childish and lame so I avoided it for so long. But a friend finally convinced me to watch it and....holy. freaking. COW. It genuinely is one of the best anime I have ever seen.

I think this is the best theorizing I've seen for One Piece by openings alone. A lot of the points, although not exact, were very close to the actual plot.

The "We Are" Version with the 7 people singing was indeed the Voiceactors of the crewmembers. The last "We are" Version with the updatet graphics was for the celebration of the 1.000st Episode. It was so amazing to see the very first opening so many years later to celerbrate that moment!

Facts
Oda (the author of one piece) is a monster at storytelling, it's insane. He never forgets stuff, so you can see something in the ep 3 that only makes sense 500 eps later, the world building is amazing, the character development is great for even secondary characters. You guys should totally watch. Great reaction +1 subscriber
alright calm down oda fanboy. he's definitely a good writer, but he definitely makes mistakes and tries to override them by incorporating them in the story because he didn't plan on writing one piece for so long. he has also made bad choices over the years, but overall it's top quality work.

Oda is a genius. One Piece is my fav story ever, but it's not perfect. It has more than a few flaws. Which is absolutely fine, he is a genius but first he is human.

Just to specify btw there isn’t magic really instead there are fruits called devil fruits all throughout the world with all kinds of powers from eating them but the drawback eating one you have big weakness against the ocean like falling into the ocean drains you to the point you can drown even if you knew how to swim
Before the pirate king died he told everyone he left all his treasure in one place. Later being called The One Piece, the elusive treasure that if a pirate claims it, the will be considered the next Pirate King. It has been roughly 26 years since the pirate king gave himself up.

Opening 24 (Paint) is really good. It not as energetic and crazy as the other openings but if you know what's happening on the Anime you'll appreciate it more. It really shows and feels like an interlude to a great arc. But my favorite is still "We Fight Together", it still neve fails to make me tear up.
Honestly my favorite is 22 in Over the Top. I know it was controversial because it spoiled like 50 episodes or so. But as a manga reader since around Punk Hazard it didnt bother me as much. I think it did the best job at essentialy hyping up both Luffy as a Main character as well as Kaido as a Villian.
13 will always be my favorite. Love 3 and 24 tho

I don't know if anyone already mentioned it, but opening 7 is indeed sung by the crewmembers aka voiceactors themselves. Some fun facts: there are MORE then a 1000 anime episodes, 1000 manga chapters and 1000 named characters in the serie. Most important characters are designed from real life people. You both had some really good speculations so I hope you will go watch the show and find out which ones you've gotten right x3.
Great observation. One Piece is one of the few anime where most of the cast ACTUALLY CHANGE CLOTHES REGULARLY like normal people.

Red Line is the one continent they have in their world, which rings ALL THE WAY around the planet like a Prime Meridian. As for the Grand Line, it's a stretch of sea that acts kinda like the equator, with the second half being more dangerous than the first. Also, Franky isn't quite a robot. But he IS a cyborg.
I absolutely did not know what I clicked on, but I was pleasantly surprised by both of your reactions. Super genuine and I loved your curiosity and theory crafting throughout the whole video. You asked really great questions and sometimes answered them on your own just through picking up on stuff in the openings to come.
I can definitely tell you would both like One Piece from a story/content standpoint of view. Viewing quality would be a different thing tho, 1000+ episodes and sometimes real iffy pacing and quality drops can make it hard to watch and I would definitely understand it if you were to say you'd not watch it just because it has 1000+ episodes alone haha, but still for me personally the good moments overweigh the lows without a question.

you guys seem so appreciative, open-minded and genuinely interested in the world, character and story overall that your vibe was infectious. i just want you guys to know that one piece is beyond anything you can imagine when it comes to mindblowing story-telling. it has been the king of shounen for 25+ years and for very good reasons. it literally never disappoints anyone who actually watches/reads it. not to push it onto you guys but just putting out there -- the one piece fandom is one of the most dedicated community and we ride hard for new people picking up the show to this day. if you guys would decide to start watching it you'd find a solid audience with it. and yes, even though it's so long! :D

yes, the characters in One Piece all have their own unique designs, at first i wasnt really vibing with it, it was freakin' me out. but then it hit me, Oda did it on purpose, he knew that he was gonna be creating so many characters, he literally went out of his way to make each and every character different and those differences arent always massive, they can be quite subtle in fact.
The currency and the bounties are rooted in the pirate era of the 1700s. It is in Yen, the japanese currency and then you have to use the inflation calculator. For example if somebody has 30 mill bounty it would be 224,222.90 US Dollars today. Then use the inflation calculator and you see the money was worth more back in the Caribbean 1700s days
The fruit trees on the ship are tangerines, so oranges are close enough. They are from the staff girl's home orchard.
I feel you guys are really going deep into the meaning of every detail
So One Piece is well over 1000 episodes long. So if you want to watch it, you have to be prepared to spend a lot of time with it. But that being said, the series is well worth it. A lot of people like to hate on it for being too long, but just think for a moment, the fact that it's long allows for so many amazing stories to take place in this world. Most of which build up on top of each other to create this huge meticulously designed world that's so great you can easily get lost in it. While the main goal may be to find treasure, in order to find the treasure they must first sail across many different seas and as one would expect, of course there would be so many different things to experience in each and every island they visit.
It's not my favorite series. It definitely has some pacing issues, an abundance of flashbacks, and a bit of filler which can occasionally get annoying, I do highly recommend this series. Once you get to the 200's and the Ice Guy from Opening 5 appears, the show goes from being pretty good/great to legendary. That's truly when you start to feel things building on top of each other to great this legendary story.
I honestly believe that One Piece could be the most influential work of fiction of our generation.

The author keeping track of every character and that those character are usually significant to the story is one of the reasons I have respect for the author. It actually is the greatest anime and story of all time. Give it to a professor in storytelling at a university and he/she would probably agree.

Glad you picked up on the outfit changes some people take that stuff for granted a lot! It's super frequent in One Piece, sometimes they'll change daily and sometimes its on an arc-by-arc basis, and its always drippy lol. One time a character picked up a random article of clothing during a journey and it then wore it for a long time and it eventually ended up having actual significance to the plot which blew my mind, you just don't see that a lot. It's nice that along with favorite characters you can have favorite outfits of theirs lol

18:49 : Tony Tony Chopper has eaten the devil fruit of human, so as a deer he could talk and walk like human. And he learn so different transformations for having more power in depend of the situation (Speed/Strengh etc..). His wish is to became an human. In One Piece, they are many devil fruit with different power. There are 3 types Zoan (Link to animals) / Logia (Link to an element like Fire/light/wind etc..) and Paramecia (all the other like Luffy who ate the devil fruit of Gum gum. With he began an elastic man...maybe more)

You should also react to the One Piece endings, there are only 18. One Piece stopped having endings and that's why the openings are now 2 minutes long.

i'm sure there's also another comment here somewhere in this comment section that also mentions this but if there isn't the "magic" thing you guys kept theorising about are powers that some people could get from eating so called devil fruits. and that in exhange for those powers, like luffy's (the one with the straw hat) stretching due to becoming a rubberman from eating the so called gomu gomu no mi or gum gum fruit, they lose the ability to swim and have their strength/energy drained when in water with most also not being able to use their abilities while in water, there is a lot more i could try to explain about the fruits or how they could work but it might even be better to leave that for other reactions or your theorising
from the outside it seems like a super simple shonen, but One Piece is not as simple as you would think, that is merely how it begins. for example you believe that they are seeking ONE goal, you are gravely mistaken, for not just the crew, but every character in One Piece, good or bad each have their own dreams and aspirations. however most of these dreams all coincide with their destination; The Grand Line, a portion of the world's 4 oceans along the equator, that has been rarely explored. due to the Calm Belt along the borders of The Grand Line, where there's no wind for sails, and sea kings (huge sea creatures) infest that belt.
Well. Some people might catch these pirates and deliver them to the townspeople so they could get the reward, rebuilding their cities and such.
Also this show is very much NOT random :)
In one piece even NPC got new outfit, the protagonist Luffy is the only anime character in history that featured on front page of fashion magazines, he might not the most handsome characters in anime world but he is the most fashionable character in shonen anime history . There is a TH-cam video that showing all Luffy outfits and it 5 min long and for the orange girl it 8 minutes long video just to show her every outfits.

V4 for ep1000 is full remake of V1 with same style and layout mimicking original one, while encompassing all current crew members and present antagonists with best that new graphic style could offer

Good old times of Dreserossa arc (that was when I decided to get over my One Piece block and binged anime in around one month (during that year summer vacation )
V3 was the 10th anniversary.

One piece openings are great and the story is great but the animations you see in openings isnt something you get in the episodes. A lot of one piece episodes are filled with boring padding and it makes the anime hard to get through at certain points. Also the budgets differ in each episode. Some episodes have some crappy quality due to the fact that the studio has to create a new episode every week. Its very hard and taxing on animators to create anime and they have to do it every week. A big reason why anime has changed to coming out in seasons is because older anime pumped out an episode a week the entire year. Also when the anime catches up to the manga because they pump out an episode a week year around they have to create “filler”. Filler is content that isnt from the manga and is anime original. Not all of filler is bad but they have no connection to the original content and a good amount of the time they arent worth wasting time on. Depending on how long they needed when we watched anime a few years ago the filler episodes would sometimes last an entire year since its an episode a week. Legit 40-50 episodes in a row of stuff that doesnt matter at all. One piece does padding meaning that it throws in fluff in a bunch of episodes along with a little bit of canon manga material. So some episodes are 10% manga content and 90% padding to drag the episode out. Naruto is a big series known for its pure filler episodes. Like I said it has multiple fillers and some last like 50 episodes in a row. Its hard to understand when your an anime noob but it really isnt if you have had to spend time watching weekly anime for years. Thank God the anime studios decided to do seasonal anime instead of weekly

We don't know what is ONEPIECE.
Ok there is two power systems but they arent magic (well sometimes kinda).
There is Haki wich is the power of will made manifest, you can use it for a variety of stuff, for example make your limbs and or weapons toughen thus both making you more durable and amplyfying strenght (thats what happens when Luffys limbs turn black) but theres a lot more to it than that.
The second one are the Devil Fruits:
Basically you eat a weird incredibly rare fruit and get superpowers.
Each fruit can only be eaten by one person, once someone takes a bite the charge is used up, so there can only ever be one user for each power at a time.
If the current user dies the fruit will reappear somewhere else so it can be used again.
Each power has its strenght and weaknesses but there is one universal weakness, if you ate a Devil Fruit then you can no longer swim, if you touch the ocean your body goes limp as if your paralized and you start sinking like a rock.
Theres three types of Devil Fruits:
Zoan Fruits: enable you to turn into an animal or animal human hybred .
Logia Fruits: enable you to become, controll and or create a natural element of the world (fire, sand, ice, etc).
Paramecia Fruits: every power that dosnt fit into the other two catagorys (luffys stretch power is one of these).
