Fantastic! As a lifelong Braves fan, this whole story makes me happy. Michael Harris II is the kind of young man that we all want our sons to be like. He and his family are the kind of quality people I grew up around in the Atlanta suburbs, and I couldn’t be happier for this kid and for the Braves!
I hope all of us Braves fans can wrap our brains around how special it is to have Harris & Acuna moving forward for the next decade. The positive energy and FUN that Harris, Acuna, Albies & Grissom are going to put on display every night? Special. Oh yeah... Riley, Olson & Murphy are pretty good too. Just let that group of 7 players sink in.
Amen! I don't know if it really hits home to people just how special it is to have one player like this, much less seven!! It's mind blowing. Also, these guys are actually very close like a family. The Mets and Phils can buy a roster full of great players, but they'll never have what the Braves have in terms of the players having played together for years and the fact that they really do care about and look out for each other.
@@jeremiah_12 I think so too. He can just settle in & be Matt Olson with all of that Freddie nonsense gone now. Unfortunately now Grissom has to deal with the Dansby talk.
As a Phillies fan, we've always looked to Michael Harris as an example of, "Man, we haven't developed a quality outfielder in decades and the Braves seem to find all-stars like MH every other year." I had no idea he and his family were such quality people, and how much he loved his hometown team. Loved everything about this video, and while I'll never root for the Braves I'm definitely a Harris fan!
Great video, I voached his sister in softball and they are a great family. I am a huge Braves fan, and was so happy when he was brought up and wish him and the family all the success in the world. They deserve it.
Lifelong Braves fan here, and these are the stories we live for. Hometown kid gets the shot of a lifetime and makes the most of it. I love watching Mike play and I’m so happy we get to keeping watching him here in Atlanta for many years to come!
I played against this guy in 5/6 travel ball. I remember his team #1 5/6 in GA destroyed us #2 5/6 in GA every head to head that season. So incredible to see how far he went and I’m so glad he’s with us. Go Michael and Go Braves!
I cannot tell you how proud of you I am Michael! I cannot believe I got to watch you play everyday with my son David at Stockbridge. I knew then as many did, that you were very special and I am so happy to see you get your reward. Stay the Michael everyone loves, God and the game will treat you right!
Genuinely teared up watching this. Sat behind his family at a game last season and they were really good people. Honored to have Money Mike on this team. Dude IS what Braves baseball is.
As a braves fan who lives in Montgomery I went to a biscuits game vs the braves when he was in AA after the first game I knew we had to pull him up immediately
Being a Gresham Park Alumni we definitely take pride in it me watching Mike with the Longhorns and Yard dogs at Gresham he was a dawg then and watching him now seeing him and a few others come from where we grew up make it inspires kids to know it’s possible
Saw in person last season, had seats in left center. Vs. Washington. Deep fly ball to deep right center and he sailed all the way to to ball and nabbed it over the wall. I’ve never seen a CF run that fast. TV does not do him Justice. My man can MOVE!!!
Straight dawgg it’s so special because there isn’t a lot of black players in baseball an he’s the example of how you can make it just gotta stay dedicated an plus he’s an Atlanta kid playing for his hometown special player. Shout out to Dana for scouting him…
I went to a double A game when he was playing in double A seeing his career start was one of the best things he Is a truly awesome person awesome player looking forward to watching him play again
I'm 39 years old and I'm a ball player.. Now a days it's softball, but I grew up playing baseball. I played at Gresham Park. I didn't know Gresham Park was that big.
I played at Gresham Park in the late 70’s early 8p’s before I moved to a different part of Atl, I’m 52 now. It has always been known for baseball, I didn’t know it was still relevant which makes me happy. Baseball was just as much loved as football and basketball back then and Gresham Park had a lot to do with it.
Great documentary. What an amazing, successful journey! Hard-work really does make the difference. Congratulations to Michael, the entire Harris Family and community leaders and programs.
I played against him in high school our schools Stockbridge and Woodland were rivals with one another in every sport only 10 min apart and he was always a great ball player
Amazing player from an AWESOME family. Been watching him since T Ball @ Gresham Park. If he does nothing else in baseball he's already won. Keep making us proud Young Man!⚾️🔥🔥🔥
This is such a great video! I love mike Harris the 2nd he is such a inspiration I love him so much! thanks for the inspiration mike! Ive been a braves fan for a while now too.
I went to a Braves game last summer and this guy went four for four with a dinger. I was only allowed to get one jersey and I was leaning toward Dansby until that home run. Ever since that game he’s been my favorite player.
I got signed to a minor league deal by the flyers when I was junior in high school to go play in Canada with Hamilton bulldogs in junior major SEMI-pro and got injured so I was unable to play in the nhl and I was never drafted only signed to contract so seeing the rise and the draft stories from up and coming athletes always makes me super happy! mike seems like a great dude and even tho I'm from Philly and I'm a Phillies fan I really hope he has a great follow up season. nothin but love
I don't know Michael personally but I've heard about him for the past several years from one his dad's coworkers. When he comes to my job to pickup or deliver he would always talk about Michael about how great of a player and young man he was. So I got a little emotional watching this. So glad this young man got to live out his dream. He's definitely a fan favorite in my household and all of Braves country.
Thank the baseball gods the Braves picked Money Mike in the draft. I watch most of the Braves' games and I look forward to watching this beast born to be a ballplayer play CF for the Braves. Future superstar. Chop On
As a Mets fan, this guy is a special player and I hate that we have to see him for the next decade or so. Enjoyed watching this
U live in queens ?

*_Well said, Jeff. ✓_*
I LOVE how the Braves have had so many local and regional players!
Man…I legit felt myself tearing up watching this. So happy for this dude. Keep going at it Michael! 🔥
I cried too man

We still haven’t seen Olson do his thing yet. He will definitely have a good 2023 season.
@@jeremiah_12 I think so too. He can just settle in & be Matt Olson with all of that Freddie nonsense gone now. Unfortunately now Grissom has to deal with the Dansby talk.
"You going to Gwinnett... No, I'm going higher!" Instant chills!
As a fellow resident of Ellenwood, I am so proud of him and his accomplishments.

🤣 🤣 🤣 Least you're not a Mets fan.
Bryce Harper😂
@@brandonwilliams8220 Bryce Harper...who was drafted and developed by the Nationals😬
_I bet you'll root for the Braves if the result of us beating some team means that it somehow puts the Phils in the playoffs. LOL_
I love this kid. I’m 61 now. I hope I can see his whole career!!
You will💪🏽
Great video, I voached his sister in softball and they are a great family. I am a huge Braves fan, and was so happy when he was brought up and wish him and the family all the success in the world. They deserve it.
*_Thanks for sharing that, Brandon. Yeah, they seem like a great supportive family. They obviously raised their kids right!_*

I’m born and raised in Atlanta and it warms my heart to see local kids playing for the Braves. 😊😊I was very disappointed when Dansby left.
I’m a dodgers fan and I can legit say he’s one of my favorite outfielders In the game. Love everything about his game!
