- I'm in love with Onew's album, its still a daily listen for me. I don't remember how this mashup started but it came together with three songs. I'm using Jonghyun's 1000, a song he dedicated to his 1000 days as DJ of Blue Night. He may have been thinking of his Blue Night family for the lyrics but I feel like those lyrics could easily apply to the members as well. The grateful sentiment and a contemplation of time is thread through each of these songs and I really enjoyed hearing them together. Hopefully you do too.
There is a line in Days and Years that says "니가 나를 지켜줬듯이 나도 지켜 줄게 널 앞으로도 영원히" which translates to something like "Just like you protected me, I'll protect you from now on, forever." While I was working on this part I was thinking about what it means to protect someone. Literally while this was on my mind @wordsbyjjong on Twitter posted a quote from Jonghyun “I think an ‘adult’ is someone who can protect the ones that they hope to protect by helping them do things that make them happy, and also being happy for themselves too.” (cr: thatcoolcatmeow) I wonder if the members were think of protection in this sense when they sing the lyrics.
I intentionally left out the Days and Years chorus lyrics at the end of the video because Onew's words at the end of the song are so sweet and I wanted to focus on them.

I have to commend you for your hard work! Your mixing here was incredible and it was very cohesive to the point where it felt like it was an actual song. I think most of us can say we appreciate your work. It's honestly such a beautiful and much more positive light to remember jonghyun in. Even though I'm crying my ass off rn I can assure you it's because of how touching this turned out to be.
Remembering him doesn't have to always be sad. Thank you for not being afraid to include him. It's still such a sensitive topic even after 5 years to the point where jjong is just cut out completely. He was an incredibly talented artist and a wonderful person. Jonghyun deserves to be remembered for more than just his death.

Its funny I published this one just a couple days after i posted a different mashup that ended up becoming my most successful tiktok ever in a matter of days but the dozen or so comments on got initially for this one felt so much better than the hundreds I got on the tiktok. Maybe because these are all coming from a place of heart? or because this mashup means so much more to me? i don't know exactly why but it was interesting to notice how different it felt

This is beautiful… but I didn’t see Tae’s face with Jong like Onew, Key and Minho. That would have been lovely to see. Tae was Jjong’s baby. These boys love each other so much. Thank you for creating this. ❤
I hear you! I thought about that too. The only solo parts from Days and Years I ended up using were the pre-chorus and Tae never sings it. I considered adding another section but it didn't flow as well. Since the Key/Minho solo parts were so brief and it was mainly a duet between Onew and Jjong I was satisfied enough having all the members in the chorus together.

It's been a year since you posted it. I return to it a lot. Days and Years is one of my favorite SHinee songs---for deeply personal reasons. I was wondering if you ever take requests. If not, please pardon. Taemin's "Monologue". might go so beautifully with "Friend," sung by Kim Hee Won, on the soundtrack for Snowdrop. I realize that selection could be a problem. But if you would be willing to consider it, I'd be so grateful.
