It is much easier to pull your foot up than to push the ground down! Remember that when you run, it's all about pulling up, not pushing down. Watch Nicolas Remires and learn.
This is brilliant! I only realised it - the pulling - after I recently injured my calf. Flicking my feet - pulling - actually relieves the pain for a short period of time while flicking up.
It's a very simple point but one which is overlooked. I've had tendon problems in my knees and that's where it comes from. Not pulling through the stride and relying on pushing forward only.
I tried incorporating something similar to this when I learned the "Pose Method" technique. While I did find it comfortable and efficient it did aggravate my hamstring.
I just got through watching a bunch of videos from “learntorun” saying running is not a pulling but pushing activity. He said he taught the pose method for a while until he realized how wrong he was because of injuries people were getting. I’m not saying your wrong, but he is very convincing
yup the back/supporting leg is pushing off the ground and the front leg is pulling the knee forward, being conscious about it while running always hurts more than it helps
well this is not true... every great runner is a pusher.. .more so "a jumper" see how much time they (50 kg Kipchoge, kiptum, Cheptegei etc) spend in the air, and how long their steps are..
Pulling is running with less effort. Try pushing a wagon down the road, it is a lot harder. A front wheel drive car will move in the snow a rear wheel car just spins. If you are pushing you are always behind your next step and you are dragging yourself down the road or track. You are literally stepping over yourself.

Excellent description of proper running ❤
The heel coming up behind you is a reflexive action, not an active action. Don't purposely focus on pulling your heel up.
Running is a combination of many movements - including pushing and pulling (and many more).

Pulling was the way to go.... if I could know if im doing okay, I will record myself running. short , simple and a great reminder.
terrific, worthy Running tips nicholas dude ty man, High fives Sasu and Nicholas

Running is jumping on each foot alternately while falling forward.
Great video!
No, the other can just be released & allowed to drop
Thank you sir
I disagree. Watch videos by Richard Diaz for correct running form.
No it's not
is it same while running uphill
🤔 the other leg?
Try this technique on a cement road and then make this video again.
Actually you are confusing what help turn over rate with locamotion
Just run 😂
BS. If one leg is pulling the other one has to be pushing.

Lmao so many random 2:50marathoners giving bullshit advice on TH-cam😂😂😂😂

this is the worst explaining i have ever seen. Running is literally the opposite of that
I disagree. You emphasise pulling as a remedy of pushing down. Running is about pushing forward.
Quads fatigue more easily "push". Glutes and Hamstrings will take you farther, "pull". He is right, IMHO, you are wrong.
@@robm321 That’s what the Pose Method of running truly is…it’s just a humble opinion formulated by non-runners.
@@robm321 see how far You get pulling not pushing !
@@jota55581 I run everyday, so quite far.
@@robm321 it must be on a treadmill imposible to run on the Road with out pushing !
funny accent....
i do not agree, you should not have to actively think about running to run it should be a natural motion
Ix it natural to run 20ks not for most people I don't think
