I have great respect for "THANOS" he is on a power level rivaling a deity.
In the comic books, without The Infinity Gauntlet"
1. He is immune to outer space.
2. He doesn't need to breathe, he doesn't need to eat nor drink.
3. He is immune to all forms of radiation.
4. He is immune to super extreme cold in outer space.
5. He is super strength personified" capable of slapping The Incredible Hulk around, and Ben Grim at the same time.
6. His energy bolts knocked Galactus's helmet off, and put The World Devourer on his back" on the floor.
7. He survived a point blank range cosmic energy bolt from Galactus" that would've supernova a star.
8. All Father Odin" is the only Asgardian who can survive a (one on one) fight with Thanos.
All of these feats are without The Infinity Gauntlet, and just a walk in the park for THANOS.
He is the perfect adversary for Darkseid.♨️
Darksied is a God the way Thor and the Asgardians are gods; and on that power level. Superman in his base form is still a threat to Darksied; that fight broken down to its rue is Superman punching and hitting Darksied with sun-level heat vision. If Superman and his ilk are a viable threat to Darksied, the Silver Surfer would be even more so. Galactus casually grants that kind of power to the guy he sends to fetch his dinner (I say casually because he's done it multiple times and never required that power returned to him). Thanos is slightly above Surfer in power and at best, that's where I would place Darksied.

I feel like this match up only exists from the popularity of the recent MCU movies. There's a lot of Marvel fans that only watch the movies (DC too) but the movies aren't as informative as reading a few comics over these characters are. One that only watches the movies can easily say Thanos is op he stomps everyone but in reality they see people like Captain America like how you and me see characters like the beyonder or Franklin Richards and for them beating people like Captain America or Iron man is the ultimate feat when in comics defeating those characters is a baby feat when including the whole dc and marvel universe roster of characters I'm pretty sure you get where I'm headed

-Defeating and almost killing a group of ODSTs, the best marines of the best, unarmed as a child.
-He is a master in multiple forms of Martial arts such as Aikido, Jiu Jitsu and Krav Maga.
- In Mark V armor which is inferior to his armor now, he was able to tank anti tank missiles and machine gun fire. He then ran at 66mph with only suffering an achilles tendon tear.
This is just the surface if the water and this is all from his early years before the games. I'm actually excited to see what else he got with his armor upgrades

No, it isn't "beefing with main teams" that drives the debate. The attraction is obvious, really...
*Comic book publishers love to create/reimagine characters to position them in similar roles as their competition.* That's it. From the time Thanos first appeared in Iron Man #55 in the mid 1970s, it was obvious this was another example of Marvel shamelessly doing what they often did in the 1960s-70s: clone a successful DC character for their own universe.
Why Marvel did this so much back in those days I don't know, but if I had to venture a guess I'd say it's because the creatives working for Marvel in those days were young guys, and were likely raised on DC's archetypical heroes and villains in their youths.
I'm sure there was also a little bit of, "Aw hell, it's just comic books- the only people who care are little kids anyway! Who cares which character came first?!" I'm certain that mentality factored into their decisions to replicate so many DC characters in those days too. Back when the notion of billion dollar entertainment franchises would've gotten you laughed out of the room.
Like it or not, the fact of the matter is that from the very beginning Marvel positioned Thanos as their Darkseid. Same as they'd done with Dr. Strange (Doctor Fate), Quicksilver (Flash) Hawkeye (Green Arrow), Black Cat (Catwoman), Nova Corps (Green Lantern Corps), and countless others.
If this is how you choose to play the game, you can't be upset when the competition whose ideas were ripped off believe they hold the right to compare the competing versions of each character to determine superiority. "You wanna steal my ideas, do you? Go ahead. But I'm gonna show the whole damn world mine is still better than yours!"
Those are the rules bro. It has to be this way.
P.S: Galactus's DC equivalent isn't Darkseid. It's the Anti Monitor. You have to compare the characters who fill similar narrative roles, not equal power levels, when designing matchups

If anyone ever saw the SouthPark episode “Good Times with Weapons” you might remember that they were all making up martial arts heroes and Cartman of course came up the a character who power was having the ability to create new powers on the spot to defeat any given enemy. To me this is Darkseid. This character just keeps growing in power to the point it is just ridiculous. I mean look at his Omega beams. They can shoot around any corner and change direction on a dime AND they can wipe out most things but then other times they just teleport you.

Wow, ive been watching a lot of your stuff as of late, reading the comments, and its sad to see to this very day, weather it be youtube, debate forums, reddit, etc, how much misinformation is absolutley spewed about these 2 characters in this debate. I agree with YFV both characters have versions that can win(something i'm sure angers many), honestly this isn't articulated on or delve into enough online, it would be nice tbh to get a video about this topic more in depth, it feels both these characters serverly get misrepresented and people just run with the misrepresentation(especially if it favors their side).
(more so people misrepresenting TFD or Soul Fire DS and downplaying Thanos along with many not knowing thanos beyond the simple infinity gauntlet due to all the MCU casuals who don't know any better, along with the downplay of Thanos other standard & amped forms, etc ). Both sides feel drastically un-informed and seem like they don't actually read the comics themselves which causes dumb statements to be spewed from both ends. Rant ended.

Tbh after watching this video I think the fight is not probably going happen they will more likely to be great allies because the artifacts that thanos got might going to catch Darkseid's attention. Darkseid will realize if he enhanced those artifacts and make him powerful he is the God of Gods especially if he embraces the stones and the heart of the universe. Darkseid will see can he bring thanos to death in return

@jhauk 2247 The stones are fucking useless to Darkseid because they only work in their own Universe. Take them out of their native Universe and they are basically glorified paperweights. Darkseid is a being that exists above the Multiverse itself and in every reality simultaneously. The stones are nothing compared to his true power. Darkseid would fucking laugh at anyone who thought he would be impressed by them.

About time someone with common sense about this topic! Always thought Darkseid vs Galactis was more of an equal match up! Without the infinity gauntlet Thanos can't hang with the most powerful of both DC & Marvel! MCU really nerfs their characters! If they do Sentry or Blue Marvel they'll be shadow of their true power!

He shifted a tectonic plate and thanos overpowered thor who shifted nividalier. I'm pretty sure the tectonic plate was larger than the ring. Also thanos overpowered a fat, weak, and emotionally broken thor. And thanos is nowhere near lightspeed. He's at most hypersonic. Superman is confirmed to be lightspeed. Thanos may be just as strong, but that strength won't matter if he can't touch superman.

@Serg Perez Not particularly. Thanos vs Galactus is much closer. That matchup has an actual valid contest and strong defences for both sides. Throwing Darkseid into the mix is just stupid. Both Thanos and Galactus are nowhere near his level. Not even close. He wipes the floor with both of them. Which is why these versus battles still don’t make any sense.

What we actually see whenever we see Darkseid are actually more akin to emanations. Echoes. Physical Ripples trickling downwards through the Multiverse like the ripples that would appear in a pond if you threw a stone in it. He didn’t will them into being, they exist as microscopic reflections of his infinitely larger whole. Darkseid doesn’t have a true physical form, none of the New Gods do. They are higher dimensional entities that sit above the entire Multiverse on the highest levels of existence and what we see are merely our lower dimensional minds comprehension of what they might look like. Ehh I don’t quite like darkseid vs Galactus quite that much now that you mention it. True they are both functions of the universe but at the very least Galactus doesn’t particularly enjoy his position in life, has even attempted to subvert that position, and the consequences of his absence are scene with abraxas and an over population of celestials. I don’t get the impression that if darkseid had the chance, he’d chose to be something other than what he is, enjoys himself, and i’m not sure if anything bad were to happen should he be killed.
