  • As part of my continued efforts to document this journey, today I take you from meeting with my oncologist, a nerdy discussion of the chemo drugs I'll be receiving, and everything else we did in the 4 days leading up to my first round of chemotherapy.
The Predict tool that I discussed in this video can be found here:
    breast.predict.nhs.uk/
Again, this is information for interest's sake and my own way of processing. Nothing I say in this video should replace medical advice from the qualified professionals familiar with your unique situation.

Today is 6-5-24 and I have just found your story while searching for other women’s experiences. Thank you for taking the time to make this video. I am going to watch all of the playlist now. But starting at bringing of your journey felt like the right order.

I am much older than you (72) and was diagnosed 7 years ago with serous uterine stage 3C. ( a bad cancer) had some mets 5 years, made me stage 4. Have been on different treatments and seems to be stable. I feel great on this monoclonal. Any way my point is there are so many new treatments! I wish the best for you! You sound very strong but I know looks can be deceiving. ❤️

I am a 66 year old woman diagnosed with triple positive stage 1 breast cancer and, here in Montreal (Quebec), Perjeta is covered by our health care system. I have already received 15 rounds of Herceptin and Perjeta ( two more to go) at no cost to me. It is sad that it’s not available for free everywhere in Canada. I had the TCHP treatment and it went well. Good luck on your journey.

It's a lot to go through. I found a lump in 2020, just as things shut down because of Covid. I was 56 years old and had lost my mother 42 years before to breast cancer. As soon as I was diagnosed, the process moved quickly. I had quite a journey that is too long to type into this comment. To keep it short, I am 2 years post-treatment with a cancer-free clean bill of health and a yearly mammogram. Thank goodness for the Canadian health care system and Cancer Cares Ontario. I also went for all those pre-treatment tests and lost my hair.
Unfortunately, cancer doesn't distinguish how old you are.
I wish you all the best through your treatments. You are much better informed than most people who have faced or are facing cancer.

Thanks for the well wishes and taking your time to share your own experience with Cancer, while it is unfortunate that breast cancer is so prevalent, it does mean a lot to me to hear stories from so many other survivors. Here's to many many more clear mammograms for you.

Thank you so much for sharing and explaining things so clearly. I have been diagnosed with the same cancer and will start chemotherapy next week. I found seeing you and listening to your process so helpful. ..You are ahead of me with your treatment so I will keep checking in with your updates. I live in the U.K. and feel so blessed that I am able to get all my treatment on the NHS. Wishing you well

Thank you for the education. I’ve had breast cancer twice and thyroid cancer once. I had a bilateral mastectomy after the recurrence. I’m feeling good post surgery and chemotherapy. You will come through this successfully!

Hi Sara, enjoying your TH-cam posts. I’m in uk have HER2+ BC and just wanted to say that the pertuzumab drug you talked about is covered by the NHS (national health service). The drug that I am being given is called Phesgo which is a combination of pertuzumab and tratuzumab. Wishing you all the very best with your treatments ❤
