- Bokoblins can pick up any weapon you leave on the ground. So I decided to see if they'll take the Master Sword with the help of some glitches! It's not like I should be saving Hyrule or anything...

as long as its the real thing and not a fake or royal guard weppons that are a remodal or something of the master sword but out of the resorces they made the weppons with come at a cost of low durability but high damage

It'd be an interesting mechanic if any enemy that tried to pick up and use the Master Sword would just get insta-killed, showing that only Link could use it.
Or would take damage quickly over time for up to 12.75 damage (The amount it does to you when you first try to get it)
You're not ever allowed to drop the master sword with out bugging the game. So the mechanic is worthless to spend time developing.
@@TraceguyRune there's one animation when you drop it with memory overload and it has a special returning to the forest animation and notification

It's interesting how Nintendo put sound in for the master sword when it's dropped on the ground. Maybe it was able to during development?
most likely, it just uses the collision sounds that most metal swords use
I also noticed that it can't be picked up with magnesis for some reason even though it's made of metal
With how coding works, they probably didn't set up anything special for the sound.
They probably just set its "parent" as a "sword" object, and all "sword" objects have a specific noise by default unless they specifically change it for the individual sword. As far as they knew, the Master Sword couldn't be dropped, so there was no point in changing the default.
Regarding Magnesis, I suspect each object in the game has a boolean (that is, a variable that can only be set to true or false) like "isMagnetic" or something, and it's initially set to false so you can't use Magnesis to pull it out of the pedestal. And then once you get it... Well, supposedly, you can't drop it, so no point in changing it to be magnetic.
Well, the Master Sword does get dropped if you get killed while wielding it...
It's just the physics engine. Sword = metal. Ground = ground. Metal on ground makes noise. You don't literally program a sound for every single thing in the game.
Eventide Storage to lose the OKHO and allow weapon swapping, have game attempt to remove an item that cannot be removed, game breaks in the process. Science checks out.

The master sword having physics if dropped is possibly the smallest yet greatest failsafe of all time
Well it is dropped when you are killed so it has to have physics for that

What's funny is the model for the weapons scale up when a lynel is holding them. so the master sword would look more like a master claymore.

Sadly Lynels don't drop their weapons, so the only way to make them use a master sword is using a mod

ANYONE can HOLD the sword - as long as they are not purely evil
But PULLING it from the Pedestal makes you worthy

We can also do this by using menu overloading glitch to steal the OHO and drop the master sword. Two birds with one stone.
True, now we just need a glitch to keep it at infinite damage all the time
@@ThornyFox i don't know what triggers the infinite damage because when I stole the OHO using menu overload, the weapon had 1 damage in my inventory but the quest was still active.

edit: i rewatched the video and i saw that the sword was floating until a enemy dropped it so if it does not work try killing a enemy holding it then maybe the ocktorock can suck it up.

I dunno how that stuff works really, I thought it was already possible but the video I saw was just him using the overload method to get that you have something equipped in your inv while in game you see an other weapon (the ms)

Yep you can, it even has an icon on the side of the screen that you never see normally
@@ThornyFox Ah, so the icon on the right when picking materials up? I got this with the Master Sword when doing EMS glitch with a full inventory. I got the Master Sword UI the first time and after making room in the inventory I collected the Master Sword as if it was a material.
What if in BOTW 2 the Master Sword could be dropped and picked up by enemies, but it would drain their health in the process because "They are not the Chosen One"? That would be cool.
Just gotta make sure you don't drop it off a cliff lol

I just find it so funny that even they can’t drop it
He didn't try parrying it with a high-enough shield (Daybreaker's 25 vs. Master Sword's 60). If the defense number of your shield is higher than that of the attack of the weapon swinging, a parry will cause the enemy to be disarmed.
Had he used the Hylian Shield, the parry would rip that MS right out of the Boko's hands.
So master sword can get me struck by lighting but it can’t be magnetized? I feel scamed

That's a new glitch called BLS Sliding, you can find some great tutorials out there

Yeah unfortunately Lynels won't even drop their Lynel weapons so there's no code support for them to pick up new ones
