    "Kaohsiung...I think...maybe better than Taipei."
Me as a Kaohsiungner: Omg yes that's definitely a YES! lol As a city in southern part of Taiwan, I believe Kaohsiung has a similar vibe to Kerala!
Welcome to Kaohsiung, and thank you for creating the vlog that gives me the opportunity to see my hometown after being away for 2 years. I've really missed it!! Hope you enjoy more other cities in TW, best of luck and have fun! Looking forward to seeing you again in KH next time : )

Its quite hot and humid. I love Kaohsiung too, and this city actually with a sad history but still strong.

    Historical Background:
Lotus Pond was originally a small natural pond next to what is now the Zuoying Confucious Temple. Starting from 1686 after the Qing Dynasty captured Taiwan from the Kingdom of Tungming, the pond was gradually expanded for water storage and irrigation purposes. Also, lotus plants were cultivated on the pond, giving it its name. It was known as one of the eight beautiful scenes of Fengshan Old City. It also became a hotbed for temple building, and now over 20 temples stand by the lake.
In 1951 the Qiming Temple, Spring and Autumn Pavilions, and Guanwu God Temple were completed.
In 1976 the Dragon and Tiger pagodas were completed.
Due to its close proximity to the Zuoying Jiucheng TRA station and Zuoying HSR station, it is also a popular attraction for tourists in Kaohsiung.

I live close to the dragon tiger tower. The bridge was built to connect turtle head and body. People said the small hill closed to the pond is turtle head, the hill on the opposite side is the body.

It is very sad that the weather is not very good these days, otherwise you can see a very beautiful sunset at Sun Yat-sen University

Where the University is nearby there is a former British embassy in Kaohsiung called Takow pretty much around the corner too heading back to the city centre.

The beach is dirty because of typhoon. As you experienced in person a day ago, the strong wind is to blame.
Kaohsiung, as a port city by the sea, is definitely more laid-back than Taipei.

Thank you very much for the video sharing some opinions of Kaohsiung. Kaohsiung is tropical zone compare to Taipei is subtropical zone. The falling tree stems around the side roads would be completely cleaned soon the next few days by the government environment department.
Enjoy exploring Taiwan, and have a safe journey 🇹🇼❤

These trash on the beach was probably the result of the typhoon? I don't think that beach is that dirty though I've only been there twice.

Kaohsiung is better than Taipei for sure! lol stay here (hug) but People lifting everywhere at the beach which so bad and uncivilized, I hope my people would value this more.

Generally speaking, most temples in Taiwan are not considered holy or sacred. They do not have a dress code or any specific behavior codes. Next time, just go inside and look around. Bring a boba tea with you too, you won't offend anybody. You are a foreigner and a tourist 😜. They will be understanding even if you actually do something considered inappropriate.
